St Mary's College is a year 7 - 13 integrated Catholic girls' high school situated at 11 New Street, Ponsonby, Auckland in New Zealand. It was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1850 and is the oldest existing school in central Auckland.

Leys Institute Library Ponsonby is a branch of Auckland Libraries that serves the suburbs of Ponsonby, Saint Marys Bay, Herne Bay, and Freemans Bay. The Gluepot Tavern was a live music venue in Auckland, New Zealand. It closed in 1994.The building was opened in 1937. It is located at 340 Ponsonby Road in Ponsonby on a prominent junction known as Three Lamps Corner. It was designed by Frederick Browne. It stands on the site of an earlier hotel dating to the 1870s. This earlier hotel, nicknamed "The Gluepot" or "The Old Gluepot" possibly because men would go there for a quick drink and then be 'stuck' there all evening, was demolished in 1936. Officially known as the Ponsonby Club Hotel, the nickname "The Gluepot" became official sometime during the late 1960s or early 1970s. Regular clientele of the Gluepot over the years included New Zealand's first Labour Party Prime Minister, Michael Joseph Savage, who lived nearby. Owing to its importance in the history of the New Zealand live music scene and the cultural life of Auckland, the building gained a Category II listing from Heritage New Zealand in 1994.

The Jacobs Ladder Bridge is a covered footbridge over State Highway 1 in Auckland, New Zealand. It was officially opened on 15 December 2012.The bridge connects Westhaven Marina, over the widened 10-lane motorway, to the Jacob's Ladder stairs leading up to the Saint Marys Bay suburb. The bridge is 102m long, 3.7m wide, and be 6m above the motorway with an internal height of 3m. The bridge was forecast to cost up to $5 million. The final cost of the bridge was $7.9 million.The bridge provides a gateway statement to Auckland for travellers on the motorway, clad in a golden-coloured mesh network reminiscent of Maori fishing nets or fish traps, and it is lit up at night to provide a similar visual effect.Previously, the Jacob's Ladder stairs had come all the way down to the motorway level on the southern side, and then connected on the eastern side via a footpath. The stairs now only extend down as far as the bridge's crossing height, with ramped pedestrian paths running west and east along the motorway's southern side. On the northern side, stairs and an elevator provide access down to the marina car park.Construction was underway for abutments and column footings of the bridge as of early 2011. While Jacob's Ladder access was restored in time for the Rugby World Cup 2011, the new bridge was to be completed some time later. In August 2011, the two trusses had been installed, and the floor slabs for the bridge were beginning to be installed, transport in place by a temporary "monorail" attached to the top of the truss.

Victory Christian Church is a non-denominational neo-charismatic church in Auckland, New Zealand. First established as the Queen Street Assembly of God in 1965, the church moved from its premises on Queen Street, constructing the Victory Convention Centre in Freemans Bay.

The Victoria Park Viaduct is a major motorway viaduct carrying the Auckland Northern Motorway (State Highway 1) over the Victoria Park area in the Auckland city centre, New Zealand. Construction began in 1959, and the bridge was opened on 5 April 1962. Due to the high traffic volumes passing through on their way to and from North Shore City, and because the viaduct is only four lanes wide in total (while adjacent motorway stretches are at least six lanes), the bridge over the park is considered "one of the country's worst traffic bottlenecks", with around 200,000 vehicles a day. After improvements to the Central Motorway Junction directly to the south in the early 2000s, Transit New Zealand, the highways authority, initially proposed a widening of the viaduct, which met with opposition from locals as well as from the Auckland City Council and the Auckland Regional Council, because it would further burden the Victoria Park area with more traffic and a larger overpass structure. In 2004 the authority agreed that instead of a second viaduct, the 'Vic Park Tunnel' should be built, carrying northbound traffic only west of the existing structure, freeing it for southbound traffic.

The Victoria Park Tunnel is a motorway tunnel completed in 2012 on New Zealand State Highway 1 in Auckland, New Zealand, taking northbound traffic off the Victoria Park Viaduct, which was converted to all southbound traffic. It lies mostly under Victoria Park.

Freemans Bay is the name of a former bay and now inner city suburb of Auckland, in the North Island of New Zealand. The bay has been filled in to a considerable extent, with the reclamation area now totally concealing the ancient shoreline. Historically a poor and often disreputable quarter, it is now a comparatively wealthy and desirable neighbourhood known for its mix of heritage homes and more recent single-dwelling houses, as well as for its two large parks.

Victoria Park Market is a cluster of galleries, workshops, studios, offices, eateries and retail stores as well as a gym and Pilates Studio in Auckland, New Zealand. The precinct is housed in a former waste depot and incinerator complex. It is located in Freemans Bay and its name derives from the adjacent Victoria Park which was created in 1905 and named after the late Queen who had died four years earlier. Until April 2016 the precinct was a craft, souvenir and clothing market and retail complex. It underwent a $22M refurbishment allowing for the earthquake proofing of the historic buildings and the introduction of some new buildings. The weekend Pop Up Markets recommenced in June 2017 after the refurbishment works were completed. There is a popular Celebrity Walk of Fame; this opened in 1984, and features the hand or footprints of famous New Zealanders including Sir Edmund Hillary, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Billy T James, John Walker and Rachel Hunter.
