Curb Museum for Music and Motorsports is a museum about music and NASCAR racing, both reflecting the business interests and passions of owner Mike Curb. The museum is located at 600 Dale Earnhardt Blvd in Kannapolis, North Carolina. A long-time motorsports enthusiast, Curb is the owner and founder of Curb Records, a country music record label with such notable artists as Wynonna Judd, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Hank Williams, Jr. and Lyle Lovett. Over the years, Mike Curb has owned cars driven by NASCAR legends including Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Dale Jarrett, Ron Bouchard and Johnny Sauter. The museum showcases NASCAR, IndyCar and modified race cars, as well as LeAnn Rimes’ very first car, a 1995 black Dodge Viper. The museum features the #2 car that Dale Earnhardt drove in his first Winston Cup Championship and the #43 car Richard Petty drove in his 199th Winston Cup win – sister-car to the one Petty drove in his 200th Winston Cup win that now resides at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC. Images of popular recording artists cover the museum’s walls, stand on life-sized cardboard cut-outs and also appear on the hoods of a few race cars. Displayed among the auto racing memorabilia are gold record awards, autographed posters from country and pop superstars and of photos of recording artists.

The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization and museum in Kannapolis, North Carolina that was created to honor musicians, composers and artists with ties to North Carolina that have made significant impact in the music industry. The museum serves as a clearinghouse for North Carolina musicians from all time periods, and preserves a number of memorabilia artifacts for public display. In December 2014, the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame relocated to a new home within the Curb Museum for Music and Motorsports at 600 Dale Earnhardt Boulevard.

Atrium Health Ballpark is a baseball stadium in Kannapolis, North Carolina. As of March 2021, it is the home of the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, the Carolina League affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, replacing Intimidators Stadium. The stadium is located adjacent to the North Carolina Research Campus and is the centerpiece of a $100 million redevelopment of downtown Kannapolis.The ballpark hosts amateur baseball, community events and concerts in addition to the Cannon Ballers. A ten-year naming rights agreement with Atrium Health was announced on February 5, 2020.With the 2020 minor league baseball season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ballpark opened to fans in early May as a public park, following COVID-19 protocols.

Harvey Jeremiah Peeler House, also known as Lady's Funeral Home, is a historic home located at Kannapolis, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. It was built in 1923, and is two-story, American Craftsman / Colonial Revival style brick house with a hipped roof. It features a one-story wraparound front porch with two formal entrances. Also on the property is a contributing garage. In 1950 the house was leased to Lady's Funeral Home, which operated there until 1968.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Gem Theatre in Kannapolis, North Carolina is a theater first opened December 31, 1936, built by Cannon Mills for its workers. After a 1942 fire, only the façade, offices, projection booth and part of the lobby remained. The theater was rebuilt and reopened in 1948 with 916 seats and a new balcony to replace the old one. The Gem is one of the oldest movie theaters with one screen in the United States. Steve Morris bought a share of the theater in 1995 and became general manager and later the owner. With competition from newer theaters, the Gem showed movies that had already been shown elsewhere. First-run movies returned in 2000. The city of Kannapolis bought the theater in 2015 as part of a downtown revitalization project. Renovations done in 2021 include the marquee, roof, and HVAC. The theater reopened May 16, 2024 after five months of interior renovations costing $1.2 million.

A.L. (Alfred Luther) Brown High School is a comprehensive public high school in Kannapolis, North Carolina. It is the only high school in the Kannapolis City Schools district as well as the city of Kannapolis. A.L. Brown was recognized by DPI as a "School of Distinction" under the state's ABC standards for public education for the 2003–2010 school years.

The Plants for Human Health Institute (PHHI) is a North Carolina State University research and education organization located at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, North Carolina, United States. The PHHI researches food crops, like fruits and vegetables, and the potential health-promoting properties they may convey when consumed. The PHHI is part of the university's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and its staff consists of faculty from the following departments: horticultural science; food, bioprocessing, and nutrition sciences; plant and microbial biology; genetics; and agricultural and resource economics. The PHHI has both research and Cooperative Extension components. Mary Ann Lila, a blueberry researcher, is the director of the Plants for Human Health Institute.

Cannon High School was a Kannapolis, North Carolina high school that existed from 1924 to 1951. Originally known as Central High School, it was renamed J.W. Cannon High School in 1930. In 1933, it burned down, and was rebuilt in 1934. A.L. Brown High School was constructed 50 yards southeast of Cannon High School in 1950–1951, and Cannon High School became J.W. Cannon Junior High School.One notable person who attended Cannon High School was major league baseball player Dixie Upright.

Northwest Cabarrus High School, commonly referred to simply as Northwest and abbreviated as NCHS, is a comprehensive public high school located in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, United States. The school is a part of the Cabarrus County Schools system. While the school has a Concord mailing address, it is physically located in the city limits of neighboring Kannapolis.It opened in 1966, merging the former high schools in the Odell and Winecoff communities.
