Anchor Church is the name given to a series of caves in a Keuper Sandstone (Triassic conglomerate) outcrop, close to the village of Ingleby, Derbyshire, England. The caves have been extended by human intervention to form a crude dwelling place, complete with door and window holes. The sandstone outcrop once formed part of the banks of the River Trent and the caves were formed by the action of the river on the rock. The course of the river has altered and left the caves opening onto a backwater pool. It has been designated as both a Regionally Important Geological Site, and as a Local Wildlife Site.

Barrow upon Trent is a village and civil parish in the South Derbyshire district of Derbyshire, England with a business park planned for the outskirts of the village. The village is south of Derby, and between the River Trent (to the south) and the Trent and Mersey Canal (to the north). According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 546, increasing to 558 at the 2011 Census. Nearby places are Sinfin, Ingleby, Arleston, and Swarkestone.One of the earliest mentions of this place is in the Domesday book where it is listed amongst the lands given to Henry de Ferrers by the King. The land included 8 acres (32,000 m2) of ground space and there were four oxen. Some of the land was described as "waste" but the value was put at two shillings. The parish council owns an attractive row of ten Grade II listed cottages, known as "The Row". These are rented to people with village connections. It also owns "The Pinfold", a small walled area originally used for holding stray cattle. The village is home to a Tarmac quarry.

Repton Prep (formally Repton Preparatory School) is a co-educational Private Preparatory School in Foremark, Derbyshire, England which caters for day and boarding pupils aged 3–13 years old. It is commonly referred to as Foremarke Hall – the name given to the stately home (country house, manor house) of the manor of Foremark which is the main building of the school. It has a close relationship with its senior school, Repton School.

Foremarke Hall is a Georgian-Palladian country house and manor house. Completed in 1762, the Hall is located at the manor (hamlet) of Foremark, near the hamlets of Ingleby, Ticknall, Milton, and the village of Repton in South Derbyshire, England. It is the current home of the Repton Preparatory School (known as Repton Prep). Before becoming the Preparatory School, Foremarke Hall was the ancestral home of the Burdett family of Bramcote. It is a Grade I listed building.The school and a Great Western Railway "Modified Hall" class steam locomotive, no. 7903, are named after this hall.

Arleston is a hamlet in the South Derbyshire district of Derbyshire, England, about 4 miles (6.4 km) south of the centre of Derby. It is located 1.2 miles (1.9 km) northwest of Barrow upon Trent and is part of that village's civil parish. The Trent and Mersey Canal passes through Arleston.

Ticknall is a small village and civil parish in South Derbyshire, England. The population of the civil parish (including Calke) at the 2011 Census was 642. Situated on the A514 road, close to Melbourne, it has three pubs, several small businesses, and a primary school. Two hundred years ago it was considerably larger and noisier with lime quarries, tramways and potteries. Coal was also dug close to the village. Close to the village is Calke Abbey, now a National Trust property.

The Camera's position in Derbyshire is confirmed by connections with other religious institutions in Derbyshire, and by records showing their annual rent was paid to the Bishop of Carlisle, who was Lord of the Manor of Barrow upon Trent.
