LaGrange College

Broad Street Historic District in LaGrange, Georgia is a historic district. It includes the 1855-built Bellevue, an "outstanding example" of a high-style Greek Revival mansion which is a National Historic Landmark. Post American Civil War architectural styles represented in the district include "eclectic Victorian styles", turn-of-the-20th-century Neoclassical and Georgian Revival styles and early-twentieth-century Tudor Revival and Craftsman/Bungalow styles".: 5 

Bellevue is a historic mansion house at 204 Ben Hill Street in LaGrange, Georgia, United States. Built in 1853–1855, it was the home of Senator Benjamin Harvey Hill, and is one of the state's finest examples of Greek Revival architecture. Now a historic house museum, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1973, and is a contributing structure in Broad Street Historic District.

Hills and Dales Estate is the home built for textile magnate Fuller Earle Callaway and his wife Ida Cason Callaway completed in 1916 in Lagrange, Georgia. The property includes the pre-Civil War Ferrell Gardens started by Nancy Ferrell in 1832 and expanded by her daughter Sarah Coleman Ferrell beginning in 1841.

LaGrange High School, located in LaGrange, Georgia, United States, is a public secondary school serving around 1300 students in the Troup County school system. Founded in 1903, the school is notable for producing several collegiate and professional athletes and was the national champion football team in 1991. The town and high school derive their name from a connection to the French soldier and statesman, Marquis De Lafayette.

LaGrange is a city in and the county seat of Troup County, Georgia, United States. The population of the city was estimated to be 30,858 in 2020 by the U.S. Census Bureau. It is the principal city of the LaGrange, Georgia Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Gainesville, Georgia-Alabama (part) Combined Statistical Area. It is about 60 miles (97 km) southwest of Atlanta and located in the foothills of the Georgia Piedmont.LaGrange is home to LaGrange College, the oldest private college in the state. Started as a girls' academy, it has been affiliated since the late 19th century with the Methodist Church, and what is now the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. The city's proximity to West Point Lake, a few miles to the west, helps attract bass fishermen and water sports enthusiasts to the city.The Troup County Courthouse, Annex, and Jail, built in 1939, is one of LaGrange's properties that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Troup County Courthouse, Annex, and Jail are three buildings built in 1939 with funding from the Public Works Administration, as a project under the New Deal of U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt's administration to invest in infrastructure. They were designed by architect William J.J. Chase in Stripped Classical style.LaGrange was in the news in January 2017 for the public apology of its police chief and mayor for the city's failure to prevent the 1940 lynching of Austin Callaway, a young black man. Callaway was taken by a gang of white men from the jail, which presumably was this Troup County Jail.The old Troup County Courthouse is used in the 21st century as the Juvenile Courthouse. The jail behind it was torn down in 2001 when the Troup County Government Center was built.

Callaway Stadium is a football/soccer stadium located in LaGrange, Georgia. It was built in 1958 by Callaway Foundation and is used by the Troup County High School, LaGrange High School, and Callaway High School football and soccer teams, as well as the LaGrange College Fighting Red Panthers football team. The facilities are also used by the football teams of the three public middle schools in Troup County as well. Despite its age, the stadium had FieldTurf installed in 2004 and a more advanced scoreboard installed in 2008. Its capacity is roughly 5,000 people all day long and has a press box on the home side. On May 20, 2009, Callaway Stadium announced plans to renovate, including plans to add 1,200 new seats.

Troup County (pronounced TROOP) is a county located in the west central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 69,426. The county seat is LaGrange.Troup County comprises the LaGrange, GA Micropolitan Statistical Area along with Chambers County, AL. It is included in the Atlanta-Athens-Clarke County-Sandy Springs combined statistical area.

West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) is a public community college in Waco, Georgia. It is part of the Technical College System of Georgia and provided education for a seven-county service area that includes Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Heard, Meriwether, and Troup. WGTC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award technical certificates of credit, diplomas, with associate degrees being the highest level of award for which the College has been accredited.Campuses are located in Carrollton, Newnan, Douglasville, and Waco, Georgia, respectively. These campuses were originally part of West Central Technical College (WCTC), based in Waco. However, the name of the Troup campus in LaGrange was retained in the 2009 merger, one of several mergers in the TCSG. Heard and Meriwether counties do not have full campuses but do have locations where classes are held.

Troup County High School, originally called Troup County Comprehensive High School, is a public college-preparatory and tech-preparatory school located in LaGrange, Georgia, United States. It is a member of the Troup County Board of Education, and is associated with Long Cane Middle School. Troup High School teaches grades 9–12.

Nutwood in LaGrange, Georgia, in Troup County, is a building built in 1833. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.The Nutwood home was built by Joel Dortch Newsom, who relocated to LaGrange from Hancock County in 1830. The house stands on what was then the Newsom family plantation, east of LaGrange. It was designed by architect Collin Rodgers and still bears the architect's signature medallion above the side entrance. The private Newsom family cemetery in nearby grove features imported marble tombstones.The home is a private residence and is not open to the public, however, Nutwood Winery and its vineyards were built next door to the home in 2019 and are open to the public Thursday-Saturday.
