Røa (station)

Røa Church (Norwegian: Røa kirke) is a church center in Oslo, Norway. The church room has 300 seats, but this can be increased to 500 by opening the sliding doors to the parish hall. The church building also includes offices, a wing of verger housing and daycare. There is an almost separate bell tower (a campanile).The pulpit and the baptismal font are as old as the church, like Bernhard Greve's stained glass choir window. It replaces an altarpiece and bears the title "Christ After the Resurrection". In the window west of the organ is a round stained glass window showing the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Finn Krafft was commissioned to paint the focal wall around the stained glass. His blue painted wall decoration with a Greek cross was uncovered in October 1964. There are otherwise a tapestry, created by Kristin Sommerfelt from 1984 and two paintings by Lagertha Munthe.The church organ has 27 voices. The three church bells from 1939 are created by Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry.Røa Church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Huseby skole is a former metro station on the Røa Line of the Oslo Metro. The station was located between Hovseter and Røa, and was opened when the Røa Line was created, as an extension from Smestad to Røa on 24 January 1935. It was closed as a part of the Røa Line overhaul in 1995.

Røa (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈrø̀ːɑ]) is a neighbourhood and a former administrative borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. In 2004 the borough of Røa was merged with neighbouring Vinderen to become Vestre Aker borough. Røa is a suburb of Oslo, located approximately 7 kilometers away from downtown Oslo. Most of Røa consists of single-family detached home and duplex houses. Its centre has been heavily urbanized in recent years, with shopping centres, offices and apartment blocks. Røa is served by the Røa Line, which takes 11 minutes to Majorstuen and 13 minutes to Nationaltheatret in downtown Oslo.

Ekraveien is the last Oslo Metro station on the Røa Line within Oslo's city limits. It is between the stations Røa and Eiksmarka. It was opened 22 December 1948 when the Røa Line was extended to Grini. Ekraveien itself is a road which runs north from the station to Bogstad. The neighborhood around the station is residential, consisting mostly of detached housing.

Hovseter is a station on the Røa Line of the Oslo Metro between Holmen and Røa. It is located in the Vestre Aker borough. The station was opened on 24 January 1935 with the completion of the line to Røa. It is 135.6 metres above sea level, and 6.7 km from Stortinget.Hovseter is one of the most densely populated areas along Røabanen, and the neighborhood has several fairly large apartment buildings, some of which are public housing. South of the station is Huseby leir, the base for Hans Majestet Kongens Garde.

Hovseter is a neighbourhood of Oslo, Norway, that comes under Vestre Aker kommune and lies between Røa and Holmen. Hovseter was originally a place under Hoff farm. The site was mainly developed in the 1970s as a project associated experimental political sociology and was listed under the then Social Democratic government. The buildings consist largely of blocks of flats in the low / medium altitude by Norwegian standards. Some of the buildings are older, however, and originates from the 1950s. Various areas outside Hovseter also stems from the reconstruction period after the Second World War in Norway and holds a joint architecture for homes on the west side of Oslo, in the form of house or villa-standard. Roads Old Hovsetervei, Henry's way, way Jeppes, Pernille way Arnebråtveien, Anchor Road, Røaknekken and Røahagan is built in the same period and hence holds great architectural similarities of their distinctive post-war expressed through architecture and materials.

Grini is a former metro station on the Røa Line of the Oslo Metro. The station was located between Ekraveien and Eiksmarka, and was opened when the Røa Line was extended into Bærum on 22 December 1948. It was the first station on the Røa Line located in Bærum; the line would later be extended to Lijordet (1951) and Østerås (1972). Grini station was closed as a part of the Røa Line overhaul in 1995.

Hans Majestet Kongens Garde (HMKG) (lit., His Majesty The King's Guard; the Royal Guards) is a battalion of the Norwegian Army. The battalion has two main roles; it serves as the Norwegian King's bodyguards, guarding the royal residences (the Royal Palace in Oslo, Bygdøy Kongsgård and Skaugum) and Akershus Fortress in Oslo, and is also the main infantry unit responsible for the defence of Oslo. The HMKG is located in Huseby leir in Oslo. Huseby leir is located on the old Oslo farm Nordre Huseby gård (Northern Huseby farm), which was acquired by the Norwegian government in the late 19th century.

Huseby Leir is the base of the Norwegian Hans Majestet Kongens Garde (HMKG) (lit., His Majesty The King's Guard). It is a modern base, but has decayed because of construction errors which led to mold and damp damage in walls and roofs. From 2002 to 2005 the base underwent a total renovation. Huseby Leir is a very special base in military terms, since it is constructed in two levels. Offices and barracks are located on ground level. The lower "0-level" features the drill yard for all companies, a crew dining hall, an armoury, an indoor shooting range, a sport hall, a clothes depot, a sew parlour, a gas station, parking places for military vehicles, and a number of other areas serving the needs for the battalion. Parts of the "0-level" has a photography restriction and the layout of some areas of the structure is classified, yet some parts of the "0-level" can be seen from ground level.

Oslo Waldorf School (Norwegian: Rudolf Steinerskolen i Oslo) is a Waldorf school located in the Vestre Holmen area in the Vestre Aker district of West End Oslo, Norway. It is an integrated primary, middle and high school with around 550 pupils. Founded in 1926, it is one of the oldest Waldorf schools worldwide. The school is an independent non-profit foundation governed by a board consisting of representatives of the teachers and parents, and it is a member of the Norwegian Association of Waldorf Schools.

Åsjordet is a station on the Kolsås Line and Line 3 on the Oslo Metro system. It is located between Ullernåsen and Bjørnsletta, 7.4 kilometers (4.6 mi) from Stortinget. The station was opened on 15 June 1942 when the line from Røabanen to Jar was completed.Along with most of the line, Åsjordet was closed for upgrades from 1 July 2006. The station reopened on 18 August 2008 after an upgrade that included, among other things, longer platforms which can accommodate trains with up to six cars like most of the subway system.The area around Åsjordet is mainly residential, but some offices and other commercial buildings are also located in the area.
