Nevada's 5th Senate district is one of 21 districts in the Nevada Senate. It has been represented by Republican Carrie Buck since 2020, succeeding Democrat Joyce Woodhouse.

The Art Institute of Las Vegas was a for-profit college in Henderson, Nevada. It was founded in 1983 as The Interior Design Institute and was later known as The Design Institute. It was renamed The Art Institute of Las Vegas in 2001 when it was purchased by Education Management Corporation, which was headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ai-Las Vegas was part of a system of Art Institutes schools. It was one of the colleges acquired from EDMC by Dream Center Education Holdings (DCEH), LLC, in 2017. It closed in December 2019.

The District at Green Valley Ranch is a mixed-use development in Green Valley Ranch, a neighborhood in the city of Henderson, Nevada. It is located east of the Green Valley Ranch hotel-casino, and includes retail, restaurant, office, and residential space. The District, like the resort, was developed by American Nevada Corporation. Planning for a mixed-use project dates to 1996, as part of the resort plans. The District's first phase was opened on April 15, 2004, becoming the first mixed-use project in the Las Vegas Valley. A second phase opened in 2005, on a separate parcel located just east of the original phase. The District was hurt financially due to the Great Recession, and American Nevada eventually sold it to lenders in 2011. Vestar Development took over ownership later that year with Rockwood Capital as a partner, before buying out the latter's interest in 2015.

The Henderson Pavilion was an amphitheater in Henderson, Nevada used primarily for music performances. The Henderson Pavilion was known for its 40,000-square-foot (3,700 m2) canopy style roof. This allowed for the feeling of both being inside and outdoors at the same time.The Henderson Pavilion was the largest open-air amphitheater in Nevada and the first of its kind in Southern Nevada. The Henderson Pavilion was owned by the City of Henderson and was the home of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra, and the host of many of musical events each year.It was located at 200 South Green Valley Parkway, Henderson, Nevada 89012, south of the I-215 freeway and the Green Valley Ranch. The box office was located inside the Henderson Multigenerational Center just adjacent to the venue at 250 South Green Valley Parkway, Henderson, Nevada 89012. The pavilion was torn down in August 2020 and replaced by the Dollar Loan Center, which houses the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League, affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League.

The Dollar Loan Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Henderson, Nevada. Built on the site of the former Henderson Pavilion, it is the home of the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League, the Vegas Knight Hawks of the Indoor Football League and the NBA G League Ignite of the NBA G League. The City of Henderson is the building owner with the National Hockey League's Vegas Golden Knights as its operator. The Dollar Loan Center seats 5,567 for hockey and football. Initially called the Henderson Event Center, on March 30, 2021, the Golden Knights and Silver Knights announced a naming rights partnership with Dollar Loan Center, a Las Vegas-based short-term loan company, for the arena to be called The Dollar Loan Center. The name of the arena is disambiguated with the article "The" to differentiate it from the company.The arena's primary function is to serve as the home of the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League and the arena was constructed primarily for that purpose. The Vegas Golden Knights purchased the AHL franchise known as the San Antonio Rampage on February 6, 2020, from Spurs Sports & Entertainment. The sale of the team and its relocation to the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson was approved by the AHL Board of Governors on February 28, 2020. The first Silver Knights game played at The Dollar Loan Center was on April 2, 2022.In May 2021, the Indoor Football League (IFL) announced that Bill Foley, owner of the National Hockey League's Vegas Golden Knights, had purchased an IFL franchise to compete at The Dollar Loan Center. On August 23, 2021, Foley announced that the team would be known as the Vegas Knight Hawks and that Mike Davis would be the franchise's general manager and head coach. On May 10, 2022, it was announced that the IFL National Championship game would be played at The Dollar Loan Center for the 2022–2024 seasons.The Big West Conference announced on June 24, 2021, that the men's and women's basketball championships would be held at The Dollar Loan Center starting in 2022 – the tournament was the first ticketed event held at the arena.

Green Valley Ranch is a hotel and casino located within the eponymous community in Henderson, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Station Casinos, and includes a 143,891 sq ft (13,367.9 m2) casino. The resort was initially proposed by American Nevada Corporation, which received city approval to build it in 1996. In addition to a hotel-casino, the company also planned to build a mixed-use project to accompany it. Construction began in 2000, after American Nevada partnered with Station Casinos, which would co-own and operate the property. Green Valley Ranch opened on December 18, 2001, with 201 rooms and a 50,000 sq ft (4,600 m2) casino. While a locals casino, the resort was designed with an upscale element. Built at a cost of $300 million, it was Station's most expensive resort up to that point, and the most expensive locals casino in Las Vegas history. The resort includes various restaurants, a Regal Cinemas movie theater, and a spa. American Nevada's mixed-use project opened on adjacent property in 2004, as The District at Green Valley Ranch. A hotel expansion opened in 2005, increasing the room count to 497. Station took over full ownership of the resort in June 2011.

On November 3, 2020, a mass shooting occurred at the Douglas at Stonelake Apartments in Henderson, Nevada, United States. 38-year-old Jason Neo Bourne, who lived at the apartments, shot several of his neighbors, killing two, wounding one, and taking one hostage. Bourne was later shot and killed by responding police officers when he threatened the hostage in his car.

Green Valley High School is located in Henderson, Nevada, United States. The school, serving grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Clark County School District. The school's mascot are the Gators, and the school's motto is Commitment to Excellence.

The Ethel M Chocolate Factory is a chocolate factory in Henderson, Nevada, founded by Forrest Mars Sr. It produces gourmet chocolate for all of the Ethel M and Ethel's brand chocolates. The factory was named after the mother of Forrest Mars Sr. and is owned by Mars, Incorporated.

Ethel M Botanical Cactus Garden is a 3-acre (1.2 ha) botanical garden located at the Ethel M Chocolate Factory in Henderson, Nevada. The garden, and the factory itself, are open to the public with no admission charge. The garden, like the factory, are named after Ethel G Mars, first wife of Frank C. Mars and mother of Forrest Mars Sr. The Botanical Cactus Garden also include a "Living Machine", their name for a demonstration waste water treatment facility. Using bacteria, algae, protozoa, snails and fish, the facility recycles 100 percent of the chocolate factory's waste water without the use of any chemicals. The water is recycled for use in providing water for the garden. The ponds from the waste water facility attract many of the birds that inhabit the garden. The garden opened in September 1981. During the mid-1980s, average visitor attendance was 300 to 400 people per day. Throughout the year the Botanical Cactus Garden are host to several community events including the annual cactus garden lighting. The cactus garden holiday lights show is hosted in November and December and is free to the general public.

Roseman University of Health Sciences is a private university focused on healthcare and located in Henderson, Nevada. It has a second campus in South Jordan, Utah. It was founded by Dr. Harry Rosenberg, enrolled its first class in January 2001, and was originally called the Nevada College of Pharmacy and the University of Southern Nevada.

Casa de Shenandoah is the former estate of the singer Wayne Newton who used the property as a ranch for various animals. It is located on 39.5 acres (16.0 ha) in Paradise, Nevada, in the Las Vegas Valley. Newton initially purchased five vacant acres of the property in 1966 and gradually expanded it with several houses, including a mansion completed in 1978. In 2010, Newton proposed turning the estate into a public attraction, an idea that received opposition from nearby residents who had concerns about the traffic that such a project would bring. His proposal was approved by county officials, but was delayed in 2012 when his business partner on the project, CSD LLC, filed a lawsuit against him alleging that he and his family had interfered in the development plans. After legal issues were resolved, the property was put up for sale in 2013 and again in 2014. The estate ultimately opened as a public attraction on September 18, 2015, with Newton's involvement. It closed for renovations on April 24, 2018. Newton said the property would reopen to the public, although he and his wife subsequently withdrew the permits for the attraction in July 2018. It was sold in 2019 to Smoketree LLC, which put it up for sale a year later.
