30th & Downing station

29th & Welton station was an RTD light rail station in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, United States. Formerly operating as part of the D Line, the station was opened on October 8, 1994, and was operated by the Regional Transportation District.The station closed on January 6, 2013, as part of RTD's January Service Changes to help with keeping trains running on time and improving bus connections at the 30th & Downing station. The RTD Board of Directors voted in October 2013 to not demolish the station in light of ongoing studies of the Welton Street corridor. The January 14, 2018 service changes introduced the L Line, which now passes through this station in place of the D Line.

Five Points is one of Denver, Colorado's oldest neighborhoods. It is now one of the fastest growing in terms of both redevelopment and population. Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom is an independent live music venue in Denver, Colorado, with two rooms (Cervantes’ Ballroom and Cervantes’ Other Side) that offer live music and events simultaneously. It is located in Denvers' historic Five Points neighborhood. It was originally a live jazz venue by Benny Hooper called the Ex-Servicemen's Club.

Whittier is a neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, located approximately two miles northeast of downtown Denver. The boundaries of the neighborhood are 23rd Avenue to the south, Martin Luther King Boulevard (32nd) to the north, Downing St. to the west and York St. to the east. The neighborhood is mostly residential and old (1890s) by standards of the cities of the American West. Most of the housing stock was built prior to the 1940s.The neighborhood is named for an elementary school located at 25th Avenue and Downing St. which was named after John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892), an abolitionist poet and a founding member of the American Republican political party. Given the philosophy of Whittier, the neighborhood was ethnically integrated from its inception. Today, the Whittier neighborhood is ethnically diverse with Blacks, Hispanics, and Whites composing the population. A combination of proximity to downtown, parks and a public golf course in addition to a housing stock of early twentieth century homes of craftsman architecture at reasonable prices is driving an influx of young professionals and their families to the Whittier neighborhood.

The John Elsner House is an Italianate-style house located at 2810 Arapahoe Street in Denver, Colorado. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 17, 1979.The house was commissioned in 1872 by Denver physician John Elsner. Elsner was an important early figure in the Denver medical community, having arrived in the city in 1866 when it had a population of only about 4,000 people. In 1870, he was appointed Denver's first county physician and created the first county hospital, which operated out of a small shelter. He played a vital role in organizing the Denver Medical Society in 1871 and assisted in the establishment of the National Jewish Hospital. He was also known to work with local Native American tribes.

The Christ Methodist Episcopal Church in Denver, Colorado, also known as Scott Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic church at 2201 Ogden Street. It was built in 1889 and was added to the National Register in 1976.It is a two-story 74 by 90 feet (23 m × 27 m) plan building.It was purchased by an African American congregation in 1927 and renamed for a pioneer black Methodist bishop. After this congregation moved to a different location, the church was rehabilitated as Sanctuary Lofts in 1995.

The Annunciation Church in Denver, Colorado is an historic Catholic parish church at 3601 Humboldt Street. It is part of the Archdiocese of Denver. The structure was built during 1904 to 1907 and was added to the National Register in 1990, one of several registered in northeast Denver.It is built with red brick walls with white cut stone trim. It has elements of Romanesque Revival and Gothic Revival architecture. A planned steeple and bell tower were never built, so its highest point is its cross on the roof's peak. It included stained glass from Mayer and Co. in Munich, Germany. Its main altar is Carrara marble from Italy.
