North Deighton

All Saints Church is an Anglican church in the parish of Spofforth and Kirk Deighton in North Yorkshire, England. The church dates from the 11th century and is Grade I listed.

Kirk Deighton SSSI is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Alton's Field, Kirk Deighton, North Yorkshire, England. This site has been recognised as having one of the largest known breeding populations of great crested newts in the United Kingdom. It is a Special Area of Conservation, and is listed for protection under a number of directives. This ordinary-looking grassland field, with a couple of ponds in it, is ideal habitat for the newts, which use the grassland for foraging, the ponds for breeding, and surrounding walls, hedges and woodpiles for hibernation. The site is not accessible to the public, and it is not permissible to survey the ponds without a licence.

Kirk Deighton is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated north-west of Wetherby, to which it is contiguous, and near the A1(M). The village was in the West Riding of Yorkshire, and Wetherby Rural District, until 1974, and is now on the border between West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire: the village is in North Yorkshire, and Wetherby in the Leeds metropolitan district of West Yorkshire. Kirk Deighton has a population of less than 500 people, measured at 484 in the 2011 Census.

Little Ribston is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. Little Ribston is located on the River Nidd, 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Wetherby and 3 miles (4.8 km) south-east of Knaresborough. The Ribston Pippin apple originated here when Sir Henry Goodricke planted the first seed brought from Normandy in the 18th century and a stump of a later tree is still preserved in Ribston park. There were several inns or licensed premises in the village in previous times, though none remain today. The nearest pub to Little Ribston is The Bay Horse in Kirk Deighton. Little Ribston has two cricket teams in the Nidderdale league and Harrogate evening league. They are based in Ribston Park, Little Ribston, halfway between Knaresborough and Wetherby.

Ribston Hall is a privately owned 17th-century country mansion situated on the banks of the River Nidd, at Great Ribston, near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, England. It is a Grade II* listed building.The two-storey mansion presents an impressive fifteen-bay entrance front to the north east. The adjoining chapel is said to contain traces of 13th-century masonry.

Ribston Preceptory was a priory just east of the village of Little Ribston, in North Yorkshire, England on the east bank of the River Nidd. The preceptory at Ribston was founded in 1217, when Robert de Ros donated the land and advowson of Ribston to the Knights Templar.When the Knights Templar were suppressed between 1308 and 1312, the preceptory at Ribston was granted to the Knights Hospitaller. They held it until the Dissolution in 1540, but by this point they had mostly abandoned it and it was being worked by Lay farmers.In 1674, the now grade II* listed Ribston Hall was erected on the site, however a 13th-century chapel which adjoins the hall survives.

Crimple Beck or the River Crimple is a beck which flows through North Yorkshire, England. It is a tributary of the River Nidd which it joins between Little Ribston and Walshford north of Wetherby. The beck is 15.5 miles (24.9 km) long, and has a total catchment area of 80 square kilometres (31 sq mi), which drains the area around Harrogate. Its tributaries include the Park Beck.

Ainsty is an area of Wetherby, West Yorkshire, England. Ainsty is in the north of Wetherby and runs as far as the border between North and West Yorkshire, to the north of this is Kirk Deighton.

Wetherby railway station was built on the North Eastern Railway's Cross Gates to Wetherby Line on Linton Road. It replaced an earlier station on York Road which had opened on 1 May 1876.After the construction of a double track line to allow through trains from Leeds to Harrogate via Wetherby, York Road station closed and Wetherby's new station opened in 1902. It closed to passenger traffic on 6 January 1964 and to goods on 4 April 1966 under the Beeching axe.

Tempo FM is the local community radio station for Wetherby, Boston Spa, as well as the surrounding villages in the West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire areas. The radio station mainly plays easy listening music and is run entirely by volunteers as a "Not for Profit" company.

Wetherby Preceptory was a medieval monastic house in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, England. The estate at Wetherby was given to the Templars around 1240 and was held by them until they were suppressed in 1308. Thereafter it was held by the Knights Hospitaller until 1538.
