All Saints' Church, Kirk Deighton

Kirk Deighton is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated north-west of Wetherby, to which it is contiguous, and near the A1(M). The village was in the West Riding of Yorkshire, and Wetherby Rural District, until 1974, and is now on the border between West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire: the village is in North Yorkshire, and Wetherby in the Leeds metropolitan district of West Yorkshire. Kirk Deighton has a population of less than 500 people, measured at 484 in the 2011 Census.

Kirk Deighton SSSI is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Alton's Field, Kirk Deighton, North Yorkshire, England. This site has been recognised as having one of the largest known breeding populations of great crested newts in the United Kingdom. It is a Special Area of Conservation, and is listed for protection under a number of directives. This ordinary-looking grassland field, with a couple of ponds in it, is ideal habitat for the newts, which use the grassland for foraging, the ponds for breeding, and surrounding walls, hedges and woodpiles for hibernation. The site is not accessible to the public, and it is not permissible to survey the ponds without a licence.

North Deighton is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. Until 1866, when it became its own parish, the village was part of the parish of Kirk Deighton. The population of the civil parish as taken at the 2011 Census was less than 100. Details are included in the civil parish of Little Ribston, however, North Yorkshire County Council estimated the population in 2014 as having dropped to 80.It is near the A1(M) motorway and the A168 road and is 1.9 miles (3 km) north-west of Wetherby. The B6164 road runs through the village between Knaresborough and Wetherby with a minor road heading south-west towards Spofforth.Along with neighbouring Kirk Deighton, the village is mentioned in the Domesday Book and its name derives from a mixture of Old English and Old Norse - Kirkja dīc tūn which means a church, a defensive trench or ditch and a farmstead or village.To the east of the village is Howe Hill, which is a former Motte-and-bailey castle from around the time of the Norman Conquest. It is also thought to be one of the burial sites of dead soldiers from the Battle of Marston Moor. The area was formerly part of the Royal Forest of Knaresborough (a medieval hunting park) and also part of the Ribston Estate.

Wetherby Preceptory was a medieval monastic house in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, England. The estate at Wetherby was given to the Templars around 1240 and was held by them until they were suppressed in 1308. Thereafter it was held by the Knights Hospitaller until 1538.

Wetherby railway station was built on the North Eastern Railway's Cross Gates to Wetherby Line on Linton Road. It replaced an earlier station on York Road which had opened on 1 May 1876.After the construction of a double track line to allow through trains from Leeds to Harrogate via Wetherby, York Road station closed and Wetherby's new station opened in 1902. It closed to passenger traffic on 6 January 1964 and to goods on 4 April 1966 under the Beeching axe.

Wetherby railway station was a station serving the town of Wetherby in West Yorkshire, England. It was first built on the York and North Midland Railway Company's Harrogate to Church Fenton Line and the station was situated on York Road. The goods shed remains, situated off York Road, and is now a dance venue. The Harrogate to Church Fenton Line was augmented by the Cross Gates to Wetherby Line, which was opened on 1 May 1876.After construction of a double track allowing through trains from Leeds to Harrogate via Wetherby, the York Road station closed for passengers and Wetherby's new station was opened in 1902 on Linton Road. This station remained operational as a goods station until closure under the Beeching axe in 1964.

Wetherby Methodist Church is an active Methodist Church of Great Britain church in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, England. The present church is on Bank Street and replaces earlier chapels on North Street and Victoria Street. The church is Grade II listed, having been designated so on 30 April 1982.
