Country Club Mall is a shopping mall located in LaVale, Maryland, a suburb of Cumberland, Maryland in Allegany County, Maryland. The mall has sixty retail units, as well as seven vendor stands on the main concourse. Located in the Country Club Mall is the Country Club Mall 8 Cinemas, the largest movie theater in Allegany County. The mall is managed by Namdar Realty Group. The mall's anchor stores are Ulta Beauty, Walmart Supercenter, Country Club Mall 8 Cinemas, and TJ Maxx. There are 3 vacant anchor stores that were once JCPenney, Sears and The Bon-Ton.

Bowling Green is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Allegany County, Maryland, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,077.It is located along U.S. Route 220 (McMullen Highway), directly southwest of the city of Cumberland and includes the former community of Roberts. The CDP of Potomac Park borders Bowling Green to the south, the Potomac River is to the east and Haystack Mountain is to the west. For many years, the community was mostly farmland but was later divided into building lots by the Buchanan, Roberts and Long families. CSX Transportation railroad tracks skirt the community along the river; in earlier years, a predecessor maintained the Roberts train station, which has since been closed. The Upper Potomac Industrial Park is located in the northern part of the community, close to Cumberland.

Potomac Park (listen ) is an unincorporated subdivision and census-designated place (CDP) located on the North Branch Potomac River in Allegany County, Maryland, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 2,530. Potomac Park lies along U.S. Route 220 (McMullen Highway) between Cresaptown and Cumberland. The CDP of Bowling Green is immediately to the north on Route 220. Within the boundaries of the community are the Allegany County Fairgrounds and the Western Correctional Institution.

The Western Correctional Institution is a maximum security state prison for men located in Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland. It opened in 1996 and has an official capacity of 1793.Western Correctional Institution is close to two other correctional facilities: the high-tech "hyper max" North Branch Correctional Institution first opened as an extension of Western which, later was officially separated in 2003, and the Allegany County Detention Center. A third prison, the Federal Correctional Institution, Cumberland, is located in the same county.

LaVale is a census-designated place (CDP) in Allegany County, Maryland, United States. It is part of the Cumberland, MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 3,551 at the 2010 census.

Knobmount is an unincorporated community in Mineral County, West Virginia, United States.

The Allegany County Fairgrounds is located just west of Cumberland, Maryland along McMullen Highway. Throughout the year the fairground holds musical concerts, car races, and private events. Once annually the Allegany County fair is held on the grounds, called the Allegany County Fair and AgExpo. As of 2006, the annual fair is an 8-day event customarily in the middle of July. Another major event is DelFest, a 4-day bluegrass festival originated by Del McCoury, and held annually since 2008 over the Memorial Day weekend. Neither of the above events were held in 2020.

The Cumberland Race Track (1924-1961), also known as the Fairgo Race Track, was located just outside the west side of Cumberland, Maryland along McMullen Highway at the location of the present day Allegany County Fairgrounds. The Track facility boasted 300 horse stalls and was the first half-mile track in the state of Maryland for racing horses. The Track was founded in 1924 when the Fairgo company was formed by the stock holders of the Cumberland Fair Associations. The track was well regarded as one of the most beautiful tracks in Maryland and frequency attracted 20,000 to 25,000 spectators during its peak years. The biggest day was Governor's Day, when the governor would come in from Annapolis, Maryland to attend the races. The Cumberland Race track was part of the Maryland horse racing circuit, where horse races took place in order starting with Timonium Racetrack followed by Marlboro Race Track, and then the Cumberland Race Track. In order to transport the horses to the Cumberland Race track 12-16 Baltimore and Ohio Railroad cars were used as transport, arriving in Cumberland 14 hours later on Sunday mornings. Today, the race track is being used for auto racing.

La Vale Tollgate House is a historic toll house in La Vale, Allegany County, Maryland, United States. It is a two-story brick structure built in 1835–1836, with seven sides—a basic polygon plan. A one-story Tuscan-columned porch extends around the five outer sides of the polygonal portion. On top is a non-functional reconstructed cupola. The building served as a toll house on the Cumberland or National Road and was the first such structure to be erected.La Vale Tollgate House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
