Umpqua Holdings Corporation, d.b.a. Umpqua Bank, is a financial holding company based in downtown Portland, Oregon, United States. Headquarters are in the Umpqua Bank Plaza, formerly the headquarters of Benj. Franklin Savings and Loan. The firm has two principal operating subsidiaries: Umpqua Bank (the Bank) and Umpqua Investments (formerly Strand, Atkinson, Williams and York (Investments)). The company’s main operating segments are personal banking and lending, business banking and lending, and wealth management. The bank serves consumers and businesses in the community. As of 2015, Umpqua Bank had $24 billion in assets and $18 billion in deposits and was ranked among the largest 60 banks in the nation. Its parent company, Umpqua Holdings, is publicly traded. As of 2016, Umpqua Bank was the largest Oregon-based bank and had 350 branches in Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada and Idaho.In October 2021, Umpqua announced it was merging with Tacoma-based Columbia Bank. Columbia Bank branches would transition to the Umpqua name and branding. The combined company would be based in Tacoma, with the bank operational headquarters based in the Portland area.

The Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront is a Marriott hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon, United States. It opened in 1980 as the Portland Marriott Hotel. The hotel underwent a major renovation in 2015.The restaurant Truss replaced the Champions Restaurant & Sports Bar in 2012.

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Portland Branch, was a branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. The branch closed in 2005 and its operations were absorbed by the Seattle Branch. The Portland location is now a depot site for the storage and transfer of cash. The branch was located in Portland, Oregon, at 1500 SW First Avenue.

The Theodore Roosevelt Memorial is a lost monument and sculpture commemorating the 26th president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, as well as veterans of the Spanish–American War. It was originally installed in Portland's Battleship Oregon Park (now part of Tom McCall Waterfront Park). Designed by American artist Oliver L. Barrett, the 18-foot (5.5 m) memorial was erected in 1939, but disappeared in 1942 after being relocated temporarily during the construction of Harbor Drive. It featured a geometric tufa statue depicting a man not resembling Roosevelt, as well as a smaller realistic sculpture of him. The monument initially received a generally unfavorable reception, but was considered one of Barrett's best-known artworks.

Umpqua Bank Plaza is a 19-story office building in Downtown Portland, Oregon, United States. Faced with red brick, the structure is 263 feet (80 m) tall and has 265,000 square feet (24,600 m2) of space. Opened in 1975 at a cost of $16 million, the building was designed by Wolff, Zimmer, Gunsul, Frasca (now known as ZGF Architects). Originally named the Benjamin Franklin Plaza after tenant Benj. Franklin Savings and Loan, the building was later renamed after current tenant Umpqua Holdings Corporation.

RiverPlace is a mixed-use district of Downtown Portland, Oregon. Although not an officially recognized neighborhood, its borders can be considered to be Naito Parkway to the west, the Willamette River to the east, and the Marquam Bridge (which carries I-5) to the south. The area was brownfield land before it was developed.

The Multnomah County Central Courthouse serves as the courthouse for Multnomah County, Oregon. It is located in downtown Portland, Oregon, the county seat. It opened in October 2020, replacing a nearby building that had been constructed between 1909 and 1914.Ground was broken on the project to build the new courthouse in October 2016, at which time it was scheduled to be completed in 2020 and cost $300 million. It reached its full height of 325 feet (99 m) on November 9, 2018. The building opened to the public on October 5, 2020.

The Madison Street bridge disaster occurred on November 1, 1893, in Portland, Oregon, United States, when a westbound streetcar drove off the open draw of the first Madison Street Bridge (since replaced by the Hawthorne Bridge). Seven people died. This remains the worst streetcar accident ever to occur in the city of Portland and also the worst bridge disaster in Portland history.
