Shibuya Junior and Senior High School

Tokyo Inter-High School is a primarily online international high school based in Tokyo, Japan. It was founded in 2000. Students who enroll in Tokyo Inter-High School are able to earn an American high school degree from anywhere in the world as long as they have access to a stable internet connection. Traditionally, in-person classes are offered for students who live in Tokyo on their campus located in Shibuya. The American degree is offered through Alger Learning Center & Independence High School located in Sedro-Wooley, Washington. In addition to an American diploma, students can also apply to receive a Japanese diploma. The school primarily caters to two types of students, students who wish to pursue special activities during their high school years that would be impossible at a traditional school, such as a student who wishes to pursue a career in ballet and must relocate to a foreign country, and students who wish to pursue a collegiate career in a foreign country. Students are able to create their own curriculum, allowing them to effectively use their time spent training their skills as school credits towards their graduation.

Cat Street (キャットストリート, Kyattosutorīto) is an approximately half-mile street in Tokyo, Japan. The street meanders within Harajuku and Shibuya. According to Time Out Tokyo, "Cat Street is the spiritual home of Tokyo’s vibrant street fashion culture. While the strip has been steadily heading upmarket over the past few years, it is still the main conduit for funkily dressed teens on shopping sprees in Tokyo. Highlights include the Tadao Ando-designed edifice housing the Armani Casa interior brand, and collectable figure store Pook et Koop." According to Condé Nast Traveler, "Those who want to get to a taste of the more sophisticated side of Tokyo's celebrated urban aesthetic should not miss Cat Street."

Shibuya (渋谷) is the namesake district of the ward of Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. It is located in the southwest of central Tokyo on the east side of Shibuya Station. With numerous shops, offices and public facilities, it is one of the three large sub-centers (fuku-toshin) in western Tokyo alongside Shinjuku and Ikebukuro. It is divided into four numbered quarters, chôme, in which had total of 4,160 inhabitants in 2017. Colloquially, the districts to the west of the train station (Sakuragaokachō, Dōgenzaka, Udagawachō) known as the nightlife district are also counted as Shibuya.

Tomodachiga Yatteru Café (Japanese: 友達がやってるカフェ, lit. 'Cafe Run by My Friend', TYC) was a concept café located in Jingūmae, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. The concept was that the staff, who have experience as actors or models, act as if they are old friends of the customers and speak with them casually. The services at TYC were spread on social media, particularly by Generation Z. It won various trend rankings in 2023. TYC operated as Tomodachiga Yatteru Bar (友達がやってるバー, lit. 'bar run by my friend', TYB) serving alcoholic beverages in the evening. Alcoholic beverages in collaboration with Suntory were also launched nationwide. TYC operated from April 2023 to the end of September 2024.

Yoyogi National Gymnasium, officially Yoyogi National Stadium (Japanese: 国立代々木競技場, Hepburn: Kokuritsu Yoyogi Kyōgi-jō) is an indoor arena located at Yoyogi Park in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, which is famous for its suspension roof design. It was designed by Kenzo Tange and built between 1961 and 1964 to house swimming and diving events in the 1964 Summer Olympics. A separate annex was used for the basketball competition at those same games. It also held handball competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics. The design inspired Frei Otto's arena designs for the Olympic Stadium in Munich.The arena holds 13,291 people (9,079 stand seats, 4,124 arena seats and 88 "royal box" seats) and is now primarily used for ice hockey, futsal and basketball.The NHK World studios are adjacent to the arena along the edge of Yoyogi Park. Therefore, images of the arena are regularly featured at the end of NHK Newsline broadcasts.

Japanese Culture Channel Sakura (日本文化チャンネル桜, Nihon Bunka Channeru Sakura), also known as simply Channel Sakura, is a Japanese right-wing television channel and video-sharing website founded in 2004. It is known for its support for conservatism and Japanese nationalism, with its main spokesperson being Satoru Mizushima.The channel broadcasts Japanese history, culture, politics, economics, etc. from a right-wing point of view and has hosted Shinzō Abe, the PM of Japan and President of Liberal Democratic Party, many ministers, members of the Liberal Democratic Party as well as the Democratic Party of Japan, local government delegates, well-known intellectuals and people in various fields. Discussion topics often include positive portrayal of Japanese imperialism, war crime denial, anti-Korean and anti-Chinese sentiments as well as attempting to present a "pure" Japanese cultural image. In addition, the channel is associated with nationalist and right-wing Japanese political groups, such as Nippon Kaigi, Ganbare Nippon and the Sunrise Party of Japan ("Tachiagare Nippon"). Channel Sakura also participates in mass political rallies, which have garnered as many as several thousand participants, carrying Japanese Hinomaru flags. For example, these groups demonstrated against China during the 2011 Diaoyutai/Senkaku dispute, against Fuji TV's showing of Korean dramas and other content (during which time they called Fuji TV the "traitor network"), and against Naoto Kan's administration in the aftermath of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake as well as the handling of the 2011 Senkaku Dispute.

The Aoyama Theatre (青山劇場, Aoyama Gekijō) was a theatre at the National Children's Castle (こどもの城, Kodomo no shiro) in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. The theatre opened in November 1985, and had a capacity of 1,200 seats. It closed on 30 January 2015.

At the 1964 Summer Olympics, eighteen swimming events were contested, ten for men and eight for women. There were a total of 405 participants from 42 countries competing. For the first time, the 4 × 100 metres freestyle relay for men and the 400 metres individual medley for both men and women were contested. Olympic records were broken in all events and the world record was broken in ten events. This competition also marked the debut of electronic touchpads for timing. 15-year-old Sharon Stouder won four medals, three of them gold.

At the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, four diving events were contested during a competition that took place at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium, from 11 to 18 October, comprising 80 divers from 20 nations.

Basketball contests at the 1964 Summer Olympics was the sixth appearance of the sport of basketball as an official Olympic medal event. It took place at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan from October 11 to October 23. The United States defeated the Soviet Union to win their sixth consecutive gold medal at this event, while Brazil earned the bronze against Puerto Rico.

Toy's Factory Inc. (株式会社トイズファクトリー, Kabushiki gaisha Toizu Fakutori) is a Japanese record label founded in the late 1980s as a subsidiary of the entertainment company VAP, based in Japan. On May 30, 1990, it was established as an independent company. Toy's Factory, as of the first half of 2012, is the fourth-biggest Japanese record label.

Center Gai (センター街 Sentā-gai) is a narrow street in Udagawachō (宇田川町), Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. It is a popular area for youths as it has a variety of popular brand name stores, fast food outlets and nightclubs. Its name is meant to signify how it is the "center" of Shibuya. It can be reached from Shibuya Station. Center Gai originated as a road built over culverts spanning the River Udagawa. On June 20, 1997, as a result of strong winds from typhoon No.7 Opal (08W, Kuring) that had descended on the Kantō region, a 4-ton archway at the entrance to Center Gai collapsed, killing one man outright, and injuring several others.
