Tassin la Demi-Lune (French pronunciation: ​[tasɛ̃ la dəmi lyn]) is a commune in Lyon Metropolis in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of central-eastern France. In 2017, it had a population of 22,297. Its inhabitants are named Tassilunois in French.

Écully (French pronunciation: [ekyli] ; Arpitan: Èculyé) is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France just west of Lyon. It is the location of the Paul Bocuse Institute, which is partially situated inside the Château du Vivier. It is also the location of many higher education institutions, including École de Management de Lyon and École centrale de Lyon. The city is also home to the French National Institute of Forensic Science. Écully is at 6 km of Lyon downtown. It offers a privileged lifestyle in the countryside just a few minutes from the downtown of the second largest metropolitan area in France. It is also one of the most exclusive towns of Lyon. The city is served by the Transports en commun lyonnais (TCL). The botanist Antoine Cariot (1820–1883) was born in Écully.

Institut textile et chimique de Lyon (ITECH Lyon) is a French graduate engineering school created in 1988. It is located in Écully, close to Lyon, and specializes in the field of polymeric materials.The College is member of the Union of Independent Grandes Écoles.

Lyon-Gorge-de-Loup station (French: Gare de Lyon-Gorge-de-Loup) is a railway station in the Gorge de Loup area of western Lyon, France, mainly used by TER ARA lines towards Lyon-Saint-Paul station. It is also served by the Tram-train de l'Ouest and Line D of the Lyon Metro network.

On 30 March 2002, a group of masked men rammed two cars through the courtyard gates of a synagogue in the La Duchere neighbourhood of Lyon, France, then rammed one of the cars into the prayer hall before setting the vehicles on fire and causing severe damage to the synagogue.

Vaise is a neighborhood of the City of Lyon (France), located along the Saône at the foot of the plateau Duchère, north-west of the city. Former commune of the Rhône department, Vaise was linked to Lyon on 24 March 1852, to form part of the 5th arrondissement. Vaise was then attached to the 9th arrondissement at its creation on 12 August 1964.

Lyon-Vaise station (French: Gare de Lyon-Vaise) is a railway station in Lyon, located in the district of Vaise, in the 9th arrondissement. The station is on the historical Paris–Lyon–Marseille (PLM) main line; it is also served by Lyon Metro Line D of which it is the northwestern terminus.
