Shelby County High School (Kentucky)

WCND (940 AM) is a radio station licensed to Shelbyville, Kentucky, United States. The station is owned by Pedro C. Arce. The station had been off the air since at least August 2009. There is no publicly accessible record indicating that the owner of the station filed for authorization to maintain the license while remaining off the air. On June 1, 2010, WCND returned to the air with a Regional Mexican format branded as "La Explosiva 940". On June 15, 2019, WCND began simulcasting on WLRT. In late January 2022, WCND split the simulcast with WLRT and rebranded as "La Pantera 940".

WVKY (101.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Shelbyville, Kentucky, and serving eastern portions of the Louisville metropolitan area. The station is owned by CapCity Communications under licensee Southern Belle, LLC. It airs a country music radio format which is simulcast on 104.9 WFKY in Frankfort. The station calls itself "Froggy 101.7 and 104.9," using a frog as its mascot.

Shelby County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 48,065. Its county seat is Shelbyville. The county was established in 1792 and named for Isaac Shelby, the first Governor of Kentucky. Shelby County is part of the Louisville/Jefferson County, KY–IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. Shelby County's motto is "Good Land, Good Living, Good People".

The Caldwell House, just east of Shelbyville, Kentucky, was built in 1892. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is a two-story hip-roofed frame house with decorative features derived from Queen Anne pattern books. The listing included a second contributing building, an original frame barn. It is located on U.S. Route 60 at Kentucky Route 53.

The Bayne House, at 37 Main St. in Shelbyville, Kentucky, was built in 1915 in Classical Revival style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is a central passage plan house with a curved two-story portico. Its hallway has dado panelling and an open, square stairwell with elaborate balusters. Its hall and two front rooms have cove cornices. Mary Bayne, who lived there, wrote Crestlands about the founding of the Christian Church. It has also been termed The Coachstop. It was listed as part of a larger study of historic resources in Shelbyville.

The Grove Hill Cemetery Chapel, in Grove Hill Cemetery near Shelbyville, Kentucky was built in 1893. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is a limestone ashlar building, designed and built by local builder Lynn T. Gruber in Gothic Revival style. It is located south of Shelbyville at Clear Creek.

Church of the Annunciation is a historic Roman Catholic church at 105 Main Street in Shelbyville, Kentucky. It was built in 1860 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It was built in 1860, after the first Roman Catholic priest came to Shelbyville in 1842. It is a two-story brick Gothic Revival-style church built with stone sills and arches. It has a three-story tower. It was listed as part of a larger study of historic resources in Shelbyville.

The East Shelbyville District, in Shelbyville, Kentucky, is a 5.1 acres (2.1 ha) historic district which is roughly E. 3rd St. from Washington to Bradshaw St. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The listing included 37 contributing buildings. It includes mostly one- and two-story brick Federal-style buildings on lots from the original town plat of 1794. The oldest are five three-bay hall-parlor plan ones on East Main St. built between 1800 and 1825, built of brick laid in Flemish bond. The district includes the Gothic Revival St. James Episcopal Church at the corner of Third and Main, built in 1868. The district was identified and listed as part of a larger study of historic resources in Shelbyville.

The Saffell Funeral Home, located at 4th and Clay Streets in Shelbyville, Kentucky, was built in about 1830. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is or was a two-story, three bay brick side passage plan building which had been stuccoed by 1983. It was listed as part of a larger study of historic resources in Shelbyville. The building appears to have been removed by 2014.

The Bethel AME Church in Shelbyville, Kentucky is a historic African Methodist Episcopal church located at 414 Henry Clay Street. It was built in 1916 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It was deemed notable as the "best example of integration of Gothic Revival and Classical Revival styles" among Shelbyville's churches, and it was asserted the "sanctuary is also important in the evolution of black religious life in Shelbyville." It was listed as part of a larger study of historic resources in Shelbyville.

Guist Creek Lake is a 317-acre (1.3 km2) reservoir about five miles (8 km) east of Shelbyville, Kentucky. It was created in 1961 by impounding Guist Creek. The lake has 27 miles (43 km) of shoreline and is stocked annually with 7,900 channel catfish per year. Its average depth is 15 feet (5 m), with the main channel averaging around 20 feet (6 m) in most of the lake. Its maximum depth is 47 ft (14 m). Guist Creek Lake is in the Salt River drainage basin.

Science Hill School, originally known as the Science Hill Female Academy was founded on March 25, 1825, by Julia A. Tevis as a female preparatory school. In 1975 the school was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and in 1978, it was opened as a restaurant known as the Science Hill Inn by Donna Gill and Tim Barnes.
