The Newmarket railway substation is a heritage-listed railway electrical substation located at 132-164 Newmarket Street, in Flemington, an inner-western suburb of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia. It was built in c. 1914 – c. 1915 and was added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 19 September 1996 in recognition of its scientific and architectural importance. Despite its nomenclature, the substation is located in the suburb of Flemington. The substation was decommissioned as a substation in c. 1966 and continued to operate as a DC switching station (or tiestation). The switching was temporarily recommissioned in 1986 for the Papal visit.

Flemington was an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It was created in 1904 with the abolition of Essendon and Flemington. The new seat was won by the former Labor member for the abolished seat, Edward Warde. Flemington was abolished in 1945 when several new districts were created, including Moonee Ponds. Flemington was created again in 1955 but was abolished once more in 1967, with its territory being incorporated into Essendon.

The Melbourne Cup Thoroughbred horse race has been held at Flemington Racecourse since 1861.

Kensington Town Hall is a former municipal hall in Kensington, Victoria, Australia. The classical style building, located in Bellair Street was first constructed in 1901.During World War II it was used as a command post. It served as a legal centre in the 1980s. It is heritage listed and currently operates as a community centre, dance and ballet school. The building is currently being restored, with work being done to preserve the facade and foundations of the building. The restored building was officially reopened by the Lord Mayor of Melbourne Robert Doyle on 28 February 2015, after a $4.8 million renovation.

Kensington is an inner-city suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 4 km (2.5 mi) north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Melbourne local government area. Kensington recorded a population of 10,745 at the 2021 census.Kensington is known for its village feel, cafes, and diversity of architecture - including Victorian terraces, cottages, warehouse apartments and new structures in the west of the suburb. The suburb is hilly in sections and contains established tree lined streets. The suburb is bounded by Racecourse Road to the north, Smithfield Road and the Maribyrnong River to the west, Dynon Road to the south, and Moonee Ponds Creek to the east. The terrace houses, located at 4-14 Wellington and 1-11 Shields streets, were added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 24 October 1996 in recognition of their architectural, historical and social significance.

The Flemington Court House is a former court house located at 28 Wellington Street, Flemington, an inner-western suburb of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia. Completed in 1889, the former court house was added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 21 December 1988 in recognition of its historical and architectural significance.

Showgrounds railway station is located on the Flemington Racecourse line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the Melbourne Showgrounds in the suburb of Flemington. The station opened on 7 November 1883.The station is only used during special events at the Melbourne Showgrounds, such as the annual Royal Melbourne Show. Three signal boxes are located at Showgrounds, although the one included in a rostrum on the platform was decommissioned in 2014. There are several portable buildings providing staff amenities, and a wooden station building for selling rail tickets. Also located on the platform are turnstiles for entry to the Melbourne Showgrounds, and a Ticketek booking office for admission tickets to events there.

The Flemington Police Station is a police station of the Victoria Police, located at 30 Wellington Road, Flemington, an inner-western suburb of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia. The police station and its associated lock-up were added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 6 February 1991.
