Central City (formerly known as Surrey Place Mall) is a mixed-use development that houses a shopping mall, a university campus and an office tower complex in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. It is owned by Blackwood Partners Management Corporation.The Central City tower, main entrance and galleria were designed by Bing Thom Architects. The tower houses one of the three Simon Fraser University campuses. The complex is located near two SkyTrain stations – Surrey Central and King George – and is the second-largest shopping centre in Surrey after Guildford Town Centre.

3 Civic Plaza, also referred to as 3 Civic Tower is a mixed-use complex in the Whalley / City Centre neighbourhood of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, near Surrey City Hall. The building was completed in late 2018. At 157.3 metres (516 ft) tall, it is the tallest building in Surrey and overtook the previous record-holder, the Central City complex, which was the tallest building in Surrey from 2003 to 2018. It consists of luxury residences, a hotel (Autograph Collection), offices, retail and Kwantlen Polytechnic University's fifth campus (KPU Civic Plaza) occupying the first five floors above the open lobby/atrium.

The Black Arts Centre (BLAC) is an artist-run gallery in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The gallery itself was created to serve its largest Black Population. The space was designed to serve not only as a gallery but also as a community space. Owned and operated by black youth located in Surrey, They exist as a way to support and provide resources for Black art and artists within the Greater Vancouver Area. The centre acts as a venue to host Black community organizations' events, workshops and exhibitions. It is located at 3 Civic Plaza and is open from Thursday-Saturday from 1-6 pm. BLAC's gallery is located on "ground-level" with an "accessible washroom" (VanCity, n.d.). The organisation's directors include Olumoroti Soji-George, Vanessa Fajemisin, and Hafiz Akinlusi.

Surrey is a city in British Columbia, Canada. It is located south of the Fraser River on the Canada–United States border. It is a member municipality of the Metro Vancouver regional district and metropolitan area. Mainly a suburban city, Surrey is the province's second-largest by population after Vancouver and the third-largest by area after Abbotsford and Prince George. Seven neighbourhoods in Surrey are designated town centres: Cloverdale, Fleetwood, Guildford, Newton, South Surrey, and City Centre encompassed by Whalley.

Surrey Central is an elevated station on the Expo Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located in the Whalley / City Centre district of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, just east of the North Surrey Recreation Centre. The station is within walking distance of the Central City shopping centre, Surrey City Hall, and SFU Surrey, the Surrey campus of Simon Fraser University.

The Surrey City Centre Library is the main branch of Surrey Libraries (Surrey, British Columbia's public library system). It was opened in September 2011 and replaced the Whalley Public Library. Part of a re-vitalization project for the City Centre area, the building was designed by the late Bing Thom. The library is located northwest of Surrey Central station in the Whalley / City Centre neighbourhood.

Surrey Centre (French: Surrey-Centre) is a federal electoral district in British Columbia. It encompasses a portion of British Columbia previously included in the electoral district of Surrey North.Surrey Centre was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, scheduled for October 2015.

Holland Park is a park in the city of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, located within Whalley / City Centre beside Central City. It is 10 hectares (25 acres) in size and although it is not the largest park in the city, it has been called the "Central Park" of Surrey city centre. Originally a piece of land that was unused and not landscaped, the city of Surrey designated the area as an urban park and was transformed in the mid-2000s. As the park is centrally located, it has become the focal point of a multitude of events and congregations throughout the year. The annual Fusion Festival, Surrey Pride, various music gatherings as well as other civic and cultural events have taken place within the park. In 2010, Holland Park also hosted one of the Vancouver Winter Olympics celebrations during the games. In 2015, Holland Park became the primary location for 'FVDED In The Park', western Canada's largest in city music festival, bringing in many internationally successful musicians every year, with the exception of 2023.

Surrey North was a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1988 to 2015. It covered the northern part of Surrey. It was home to 106,904 residents in 2001, more than 46 percent of whom are immigrants—21 percent of residents are East Indian, the second-highest concentration in Canada. Most residents are employed in the manufacturing and service sectors, with an average family income of $50,445 and an unemployment rate of nine percent.

Whalley is the most densely populated and urban of the six town centres in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. It encompasses City Centre, the city's central business district, and is home to the Surrey City Hall, the main branch of Surrey Libraries, Central City, SFU Surrey and the site of Kwantlen Polytechnic University's (KPU) Civic Plaza campus. It is the only town centre in Surrey served by Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. Expo Line stations serving Whalley include Scott Road, Gateway, Surrey Central and King George. Based on the city of Surrey statistics, Whalley is the second-most populous community in Surrey after Newton. As of 2018, the population of Whalley is 75,610, while the population of City Centre, the central subarea in the Whalley core, is 26,945. The total population of the area is 102,555. Whalley is represented in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia by the Surrey-Whalley riding and in the House of Commons of Canada by the Surrey North riding. Randeep Sarai is Whalley's Member of Parliament, and Bruce Ralston is its MLA.

King George is an elevated station on the Expo Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located in the south end of the Surrey City Centre district of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, and is one of the outbound termini of the Expo Line, the other being Production Way–University station. The station is located at the corner of King George Boulevard and 100 Avenue, just north of Fraser Highway. The station is within walking distance to Holland Park and Surrey Memorial Hospital. A number of mixed-use developments continue to be built near the station, and the recent King George Hub development has displaced the park and ride facility that had once served the station.

King George Tower was a proposed skyscraper in Surrey, British Columbia near King George Station. At a height of 274.3 m (900 ft) with 81 stories, the mixed-use building would have been significantly taller than any highrise building in the Vancouver area. The skyscraper also would have had the most floors of any building in Canada, exceeding the 78 floors of Aura in Toronto, Ontario. However, due to the proposed height of the project, there was concern that the skyscraper may interfere with air traffic heading to Vancouver International Airport.
