Clayton North Primary School

The John Monash Science School is a government-funded co-educational academically selective and specialist secondary day school, located on the Clayton campus of Monash University, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The school specialises in science and technologies and is the state's first specialist science secondary school. A joint venture between the Government of Victoria and Monash University, the school opened in 2009 with one Year 10 class; and as of 2010 it was running at its full capacity of approximately 660 students. The school is named in honour of Sir John Monash.

The Monash Science Technology Research and Innovation Precinct (STRIP) is a cluster of commercial and university enterprises and research centres based at Monash University's Clayton Campus. The STRIP was officially opened on 18 February 2010 by Nobel laureate Professor Elizabeth Blackburn.Monash STRIP houses many of Australia's major scientific research centres and companies, including the Australian Stem Cell Centre (Australia's National Biotechnology Centre of Excellence), Stem Cell Sciences Pty Ltd, Nanovic (Nanotechnology Victoria), the Victorian Institute of Chemical Sciences, the National Printing Laboratory, the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute and the Monash Immunology and Stem Cell Laboratories. It is also home to many of the university's departments within the School of Biomedical Sciences, namely microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology, as well as anatomy and developmental biology. The John Monash Science School, a selective secondary school for students with a high aptitude for mathematics and sciences, is located adjacent to the STRIP. The location of the cluster – Clayton – places it in the centre of Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. This area contains the greatest density of high technology industries in Victoria. As more and more businesses develop within the STRIP, it is anticipated that adjacent university land will be used to accommodate increased industry presence. Other research facilities at the Clayton Campus include the ANSTO's Australian Synchrotron and the CSIRO, which are both closely involved with some of the tenants at Monash STRIP. The STRIP 2 buildings won the 2009 Master Builders Award for Excellence in Construction, in the category of commercial buildings between $30m–$80m.

The Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) is an Australian medical research institute. Opened in April 2009, the institute is based at the Clayton campus of Monash University, in the Monash Science Technology Research and Innovation Precinct. ARMI is one of the world's largest regenerative medicine and stem cell research hubs. Its research aims to restore and regenerate damaged tissue and organs by injecting or implanting cells to allow the human body to heal and recover. Research focuses on developing effective treatments for a range of currently incurable diseases, such as cancer, arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, as well as neurotrauma. In addition, ARMI is also looking at technologies to treat ageing itself via regeneration. Facilities at the Institute include FishCore, the largest zebrafish facility of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Australian Stem Cell Centre is an Australian medical research and development centre which focuses on regenerative medicine through the use of stem cells. Founded in 2003, the Centre is the National Biotechnology Centre of Excellence and has received over $100 million in funding in recent years. It is Australia's premier stem cell research organisation.In June 2008, the Centre announced that it had begun working on induced pluripotent (iPS) cells (human embryonic stem cells, artificially created without human eggs or embryos). This was the first time in Australia that such research had been carried out, and the first time that scientists had worked on this type of stem cell outside the US or Japan.It is based at Monash Science Technology Research and Innovation Precinct and was founded by nine leading Australian universities and medical research institutes.One of the founders of the Centre is Dr Alan Trounson, a Monash scientist who was part of the team that delivered Australia's first IVF baby in 1980. Trounson has also made several ground-breaking discoveries in stem cell research. In 2000, Trounson led the team of scientists which first reported nerve stem cells derived from embryonic stem cells, which led to a dramatic increase in interest in the potential of stem cell research.

MonashHeart is a non-profit cross-site cardiological service operating within the southern region of Victoria's Metropolitan Health Services.MonashHeart is co-located with Monash Medical Centre and is part of Monash Health, the largest public health service in Victoria. MonashHeart operates from three sites, all within the Southern Health network of hospitals covering populations located south-east of Melbourne. Clinical services are provided at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital. The MonashHeart service will relocate to the new Victorian Heart Hospital, Australia's first standalone cardiac hospital, when it's completed in 2022.The current director is Professor Stephen Nicholls.MonashHeart is one of the premier cardiac services the world, ranked 45 in the 2021 World's Best Specialised Hospitals.

Hutton-Westfold Observatory is an observatory for Monash University located on Martin St near the Clayton Campus, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It opened to the public on 23 March 2009. The name Hutton-Westfold is derived from the names of Don Hutton and Kevin Westfold who contributed to the field of astronomy as well as the education of students at Monash. The observatory houses a 27.5 cm aperture Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope, which has a field of view of approximately 7'×5' (7 arcminutes by 5 arcminutes).

Monash University Faculty of Law, or Monash Law School, is the law school of Monash University. Founded in 1963, it is based in Melbourne, Victoria and has campuses in Malaysia and Italy. It is consistently ranked as one of the top law schools in Australia and globally, and entry to its Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme is highly competitive. The Faculty of Law offers the Bachelor of Laws (LLB), with which students may combine other degrees as part of a double degree, the Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The Monash University shooting was a mass shooting in which a 36-year-old international student killed students William Wu and Steven Chan, both 26, and injured five others including the lecturer. It took place at Monash University, in Melbourne, on 21 October 2002. The gunman, Huan Yun Xiang, was acquitted of crimes related to the shootings due to mental impairment, and is currently under psychiatric care. Several of the people present in the room of the shootings were officially commended for their bravery in tackling Xiang and ending the shooting.
