Lake Sammamish State Park is a park at the south end of Lake Sammamish, in King County, Washington, United States. The park, which is administered by the Washington State Park System, covers an area of 512 acres (0.80 sq mi) and has 6,858 feet (2,090 m) of waterfront; Issaquah Creek meets with Lake Sammamish within the park. It is a popular location for boating and watersport activities, such as waterskiing. The State Park is accessible from Interstate 90 at exit 15 and the north end of State Route 900. It offers about 250 parking stalls for vehicle/trailer combinations. Local access uses East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE and NW Sammamish Road; both are separate alignments of former State Route 901. Public transit (bus) riders can access the park via Metro Transit routes 200, 216, 217, and 927.The state park is the center of a controversy over the ecological benefits of beavers.

Issaquah Creek is a small stream flowing through the city of Issaquah and nearby communities, in the U.S. state of Washington. Its headwaters are on the slopes of Cougar, Squak, Tiger, and Taylor mountains in the Issaquah Alps. Tributaries of Issaquah Creek include Holder Creek, Carey Creek, Fifteen-mile Creek, McDonald Creek, East Fork Issaquah Creek, and North Fork Issaquah Creek. The creek empties into the south end of Lake Sammamish. The lake's outlet is the Sammamish River, which in turn empties into Lake Washington and ultimately Puget Sound.Issaquah Creek's drainage basin is over 75% forest land and less than 10% urbanized or cleared. The basin is one of the three most significant in urbanizing King County. The upper and middle portions of the basin have been identified as a Regionally Significant Resource area due to their exceptional fish habitat and undeveloped character. The entire basin is an important salmon migration and spawning area. Carry Creek and Holder Creek, in the upper Issaquah Creek basin, provide particularly excellent salmonid habitat.Every October people gather on its shores to watch the salmon traveling upstream. Fishing in Issaquah Creek is only practiced legally by anglers under age 15 and by the local Native Americans.. Issaquah Creek and its tributaries support Chinook, coho, and sockeye salmon (both anadromous sockeye and resident kokanee), coastal cutthroat trout, and steelhead. Chinook and coho are reared by the state Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, located three miles upstream from the creek's mouth. The hatchery has been releasing Chinook salmon into Issaquah Creek since 1936. Data for the early 2000s indicate that approximately two million Chinook smolts have been released each year.

Issaquah School District No. 411 is a public school district in King County, Washington, U.S., serving the city of Issaquah as well as portions of Sammamish, Renton, Bellevue, and Newcastle. As of the 2018–2019 school year, the district has an enrollment of 20,965 with 24 total schools.

Pickering Farm is a former farm located in Issaquah, Washington listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has been the site for a farmer's market since the late 1990s. Pickering Barn is available for rental.

Monohon was a small town located on the east side of Lake Sammamish (then known as Lake Squak), near the present-day intersection of East Lake Sammamish Parkway and SE 33rd Street in the city of Sammamish. The community was originally part of a town named Donnelly, founded by Simon Donelly who built a sawmill there, but then grew big enough and was far enough away from Donelly that they created their own town, Monohon in 1888. The new town was named after Martin Monohon who had homesteaded 160 acres (0.65 km2) there in 1877. The railroad along the east side of the lake was completed in 1889, and the Donnelly mill was moved to the site of Monohon. By the turn of the century, there were twenty homes in Monohon, and the lumber mill was updated with the latest machinery. The mill also completed a new water system for the community. This brought both new wealth and new settlers to the community, which soon more than doubled in size. By 1911, the town's population had reached over 300. A 20-room hotel was built overlooking the lake, along with a church and a community meeting hall. The dock was used to ship lumber and dairy products on the lake. Growth slowed, but continued over the years. During the height of the prohibition era, the small town was raided by King County sheriff officers looking for bootleggers. 50 gallons of moonshine whiskey were reportedly confiscated. In 1925, the entire town was destroyed by a fire. The sawmill, hotel, depot, post office, and all but about 10 homes were completely consumed. The mill was rebuilt, but the town never recovered, and all but disappeared when the great depression hit in 1929. The sawmill continued to operate for many years after, but was repeatedly burned and rebuilt. The mill finally closed forever in 1980.

The Ray Brandes House is a Frank Lloyd Wright designed Usonian home located at 2202 212th Avenue SE, Sammamish, Washington It was constructed in 1952. The home is constructed in Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian style which is designed to create flow between nature, the home and its interior. It is one of the better preserved examples of this style, and one of three homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Washington State. Landscaping was selected from local flora and fauna, typical of Frank Lloyd Wright's preference.

Pine Lake is a lake located in the city of Sammamish, Washington, about 20 miles east of downtown Seattle. Surrounded by private homes and a city park, it is a popular recreation and fishing spot.

Cougar Mountain Zoo is an 11-acre (4.5 ha) zoological park located in Issaquah, Washington, on the north slope of Cougar Mountain about 15 miles (24 km) east of Seattle. It is located near the border of the Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park. The zoo focuses on endangered species including lemurs from Madagascar, Bengal tigers, and endangered birds from various parts of the world. It was founded in 1972 by Peter and Marcie Rittler who operated it admission-free for its first 15 years. In 1990, the founders donated it to the Zoological Society of Washington which assumed the zoo's management and fundraising endeavors. As of 2009, Peter Rittler continued in the zoo's management.

Issaquah ( ISS-ə-kwah) is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 40,051 at the 2020 census, an increase from 30,434 at the 2010 census. Located in a valley and bisected by Interstate 90, the city is bordered by the Sammamish Plateau to the north and the "Issaquah Alps" to the south. It is home to the headquarters of the multinational retail company Costco. Issaquah is included in the Seattle metropolitan area.

The Attack on Squak Valley Chinese laborers took place on September 7, 1885, in Squak Valley (now called Issaquah), Washington Territory, when a group of men fired their guns into several tents where a group of Chinese hop pickers were sleeping. The gunfire resulted in the death of three Chinese men and the wounding of three others. The attackers were later identified and brought to trial, but all were acquitted. The attack was part of a widespread pattern of racially motivated violence against Chinese immigrants in the United States. During the latter half of the 19th century, there were more than 150 documented group attacks against Chinese communities and settlers throughout North America.Some of the details about what happened in Squak Valley are in dispute. There are brief accounts from two of the Chinese victims of the attack and several statements from those who investigated the crime, but otherwise the remaining information comes from statements made by the individuals who were either on trial or awaiting trial for the murder of the Chinese laborers. Several statements made during the trial directly contradicted the accounts made by others.

Ebright Creek Park is a 12-acre (4.9-hectare) neighborhood park located alongside the Ebright Creek Watershed in the city of Sammamish, Washington, United States. It has areas for different types of activities, despite being built near wetland buffers and sensitive areas.

The Issaquah Valley Trolley (IVT) is a heritage streetcar line in Issaquah, Washington, United States. It is a project of the Issaquah History Museums (formerly known as the Issaquah Historical Society). The IVT operates from the Issaquah Depot Museum building located at 78 First Ave, NE. The service operated on a trial basis in 2001–02 and has operated on a regular basis, seasonally, since 2012.
