Torino Porta Milano, also referred to as Torino Ponte Mosca or Cirié-Lanzo, was a railway station in Turin, northern Italy. It was the terminus station for the Turin-Ceres line. While unused today, the building can be found on Corso Giulio Cesare, in the Borgo Dora neighbourhood near the city's Porta Palazzo market.

The Ponte Mosca is a historic bridge in Turin, region of Piedmont, Italy. It was the first stone bridge built in the city by the Sabauda dynasty. The bridge was erected over the Dora Riparia; the corso Giulio Cesare enters the Aurora quarter, near Porta Palazzo, over this bridge. The plan for a bridge over the Dora first was requested by Napoleon in 1807. But it became a reality in 1818, when an urban renewal plan was put forward that also demolished the walls and bastions of the city. The architect Carlo Bernardo Mosca was commissioned a stone bridge to replace the earlier wood structure. Construction proceeded from 1823 to 1830. At inauguration, the 45-meter-long (148 ft) bridge was considered technologically advanced. It was renamed Mosca in 1868, a year after the architect's death.

The Battle of Gatae was an engagement fought in roughly 103 AD during the Roman Emperor Trajan's war with the kingdom of Dacia. There is no serious historical evidence giving an exact place or time to the battle, nor any troop positions, numerical statistics, casualties, or much of anything of that nature. It is not even fully understood if the battle was in of itself a major engagement or merely a small battle or even a large skirmish. Dio Cassius gives a minor mention of the battle, but it is a mere mention. It is understood that this battle did, however, somehow break the back of the Dacian army and allow the Roman Legions to make serious tactical headway. However, Decebalus, king of Dacia, managed to secure a peace before the capital of Sarmizegetusa was captured.

Aurora is an historical district in the city of Turin, Italy. This neighborhood is divided into wards, which are distinctive one from another. The district includes: Porta Palazzo quarter has the biggest European open market (Mercato di Porta Palazzo), hosted in Piazza della Repubblica; Borgo Dora quarter, which hosts the Sermig institution as well as flea market; Valdocco quarter, which hosts the Santuario di Maria Ausiliatrice (Sanctuary of Our Lady Help of Christians) and the minor basilica of the Santuario della Consolata (Sanctuary of the Virgin of Consolation).

Valdocco (Valdòc in Piedmontese) is a neighborhood of the city of Turin, located in the urban district Aurora. It is bordered by Corso Regina Margherita, Via Cigna, the river Dora and the railway. The name Valdocco comes from the Latin vallis occisorum (Valley of the Slain) since several death sentences were carried out on this site.Valdocco is also known for housing one of the main centers of the Congregation of the Salesians. Giovanni Bosco, who was canonized as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church, used to visit the Pinardi's canopy in this area. From here he started his activities in favour of young people from the neighborhood. Giovanni Bosco commissioned the construction of the Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians in order to coordinate all activities related to the Salesians in the Valdocco suburb.

The Palatine Gate (Italian: Porta Palatina; Piedmontese: Pòrta Palatin-a) is a Roman Age city gate located in Turin, Italy. The gate provided access through the city walls of Julia Augusta Taurinorum (modern Turin) from the North side and, as a result, it constituted the Porta Principalis Dextra (Right-Side Main Gate) of the old town. The Palatine Gate represents the primary archaeological evidence of the city's Roman phase, and is one of the best preserved 1st-century BC Roman gateways in the world. Together with the ancient theatre's remains, located a short distance away, it is part of the so-called Archaeological Park, opened in 2006.

The Santuario della Consolata or, in its full name, the Church of the Virgin of the Consolation is a Marian sanctuary and minor basilica in central Turin, Piedmont, Italy. Colloquially, the sanctuary is known as La Consolata. It is located on the intersection of Via Consolata and Via Carlo Ignazio Giulio. Dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Consolation, the church was raised to the rank of a Basilica minor by Pope Pius X on 7 April 1906.

The Bust of Cardinal Maurizio of Savoy is a marble portrait bust by the Flemish sculptor François Duquesnoy. The sculpture was completed in 1635. It portrays Maurice of Savoy, of whom Duquesnoy became a "well-favored" in the 1630s. The bust is the final documented portrait by Duquesnoy. It is currently housed at the Galleria Sabauda in Turin.

The Galleria Sabauda is an art collection in the Italian city of Turin, which contains the royal art collections amassed by the House of Savoy over the centuries. It is located on Via XX Settembre, 86. The museum, whose first directors were Roberto and Massimo d'Azeglio, unites the art collection of Eugene of Savoy, acquired after his death by his cousin, the king of Sardinia, with the works from the Royal Palace of Turin, the picture gallery of the Savoy-Carignano, and the artworks from the Palazzo Durazzo in Genoa, acquired in 1824. On October 2, 1832 (his birthday), King Charles Albert of Savoy inaugurated the royal gallery at the Palazzo Madama, containing 365 paintings. In 1865, Massimo d'Azeglio had the collection transferred to Guarino Guarini's Palazzo dell'Accademia delle Scienze (1679) where it stood until 2012, before it was moved to the current location. On December 4, 2014, in the presence of the Italian Minister of Culture, the "Manica Nuova" of Palazzo Reale (New Wing of the Royal Palace) was official opened. The collection has now found its final place to be exhibited. The gallery is based on a brand new museum project conceived and developed by the superintendent Edith Gabrielli (for the scientific part) together with Studio Albini Associati (staging). The lighting is by CastagnaRavelli Studio, based in Milan; graphics are by Noorda Design.
