Aeroflot Flight 141 was an international flight from Moscow to Prague. On 19 February 1973, the Tupolev Tu-154 crashed 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi; 0.81 nmi) short of runway 25 (now runway 24) of Prague Ruzyně Airport (now Václav Havel Airport Prague). Most of the passengers survived the crash, but many died in the fire that followed. Out of the 87 passengers and 13 crew members, 62 passengers and 4 crew members perished with 18 occupants having serious injuries and the remaining 16 with either minor or no injuries. The crash was the first loss of and first fatal accident involving the Tu-154.The cause of the incident was not officially determined. The crew did not report any defects or troubles between the ATC frequencies. One theory stated wind shear, while another theory was that the pilots incorrectly set a horizontal stabilizer, yet another stated on unexpected atmospheric turbulence. The investigation of the accident also showed that controlling of the stabilizers was complicated. This was solved when the Tu-154 aircraft was being modernized to the Tu-154A.

The Research Institute of Crop Production (RICP) (Czech: Výzkumný ústav rostlinné výroby, VÚRV) was established in 1951. Václav Havel Airport Prague, formerly Prague Ruzyně International Airport (IATA: PRG, ICAO: LKPR), is an international airport of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The airport was founded in 1937, when it replaced the Kbely Airport (founded in 1918). It was reconstructed and extended in 1956, 1968, 1997, and 2006. In 2012, it was renamed after the last president of Czechoslovakia and the first president of the Czech Republic, Václav Havel. It is located at the edge of the Prague-Ruzyně area, next to Kněževes village, 12 km (7 mi) west of the centre of Prague and 12 km (7 mi) southeast of the city of Kladno. In 2018, it served around 17 million passengers. It serves as a hub for Czech Airlines and Smartwings, and as a base for Ryanair and Eurowings.

The International School of Prague (ISP) is an independent, English-speaking, non-profit, international school in Prague, Czech Republic. Established in 1948, ISP is both the oldest and largest international school in the Czech Republic, with over 844 students representing more than 60 nationalities. ISP is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The Czech Ministry of Education has also authorized the school to teach foreign nationals, in addition to Czech citizens. ISP offers its 11th and 12th grade students the opportunity to take the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. According to Czech tax law, ISP has only one shareholder, The International School of Prague Foundation, a US 501(c) organization. As a not-for-profit organization, any surpluses are re-invested in the school. The school's financial statements are externally audited and made available to the public. ISP is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees, who also hire the director of the school. The current director is Dr. Chip Kimball.
