Stratton Open Space

South Cheyenne Cañon, or South Cheyenne Canyon, is a canyon in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado. The South Cheyenne Cañon road to Seven Falls is called "The Grandest Mile of Scenery" in Colorado. Seven Falls has been a tourist attraction since it was opened in the early 1880s. Trails from the top of the falls lead to Midnight Falls, near the headwaters of South Cheyenne Creek, and Inspiration Point. The area has been a center for parks, such as the Stratton Park and Colorado College Park. Now, part of South Cheyenne Cañon, including the Starsmore Discovery Center, is in the North Cheyenne Cañon Park. The area sustained a significant flood in September 2013, which closed Seven Falls until Spring 2015. Presently the falls are open again.

Cheyenne Mountain High School (CMHS) is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. It is the only high school in Cheyenne Mountain School District 12. Its campus contains several buildings, including a recreation center, library, cafeteria, and an arts building.

The El Pomar Estate was the Penrose House and estate of Spencer and Julie Penrose in the Broadmoor, Colorado, Colorado Springs, Colorado It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places listings in El Paso County, Colorado and the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties.

The Pauline Chapel is a chapel on the National Register of Historic Places owned by The Broadmoor resort. It was built in 1919. The Chapel was not dedicated as a Catholic church until 1925. In 1918, Spencer Penrose submitted two designs for the chapel. The second was chosen.

The Broadmoor World Arena was a skating rink and hockey arena located at The Broadmoor Resort & Spa in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Originally an outdoor equestrian center and riding academy, the building was enclosed and converted into an ice arena which opened in January 1938. It was the original home of the Colorado College Tigers hockey team, as well as the Broadmoor Skating Club, a major force in the figure skating community. The building served as the first home of the NCAA Hockey Championships, hosting the first ten Final Fours (1948–1957) and once more, in 1969. The arena served as host to the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships in 1962. It also hosted the World Figure Skating Championships five times between 1957 and 1975. With wooden seats, red aisle carpeting, and wildlife paintings on the walls, the arena had an intimate atmosphere that reflected its lakeside, resort hotel setting. The arena was the primary arena setting in the 1978 movie Ice Castles.In 1993, the Broadmoor announced that it would be closing the arena to make room for a $27 million expansion of the resort. It closed in March 1994. The last major event held at the arena was the 1994 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. The Tigers moved their hockey games to the similarly-named World Arena. In April 2014, after an agreement with the Anschutz Entertainment Group (owners of The Broadmoor resort), the World Arena in south Colorado Springs was formally renamed the Broadmoor World Arena, in order to take advantage of the name recognition of the original building.There is a memorial on the grounds of the hotel to the members of the 1961 US Figure Skating team, all of whom perished in the crash of their flight to the 1961 championships near Brussels, Belgium. Many of them had trained at the Broadmoor.

The Pikes Peak Hill Climb Museum (PPHCM) is an American non-profit 501 (C)(3) organization and serves to promote and develop educational awareness of advancements in motorsports technology and automotive engineering while maintaining and preserving the history of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC).The PPHCM is located within the Penrose Heritage Museum.

The Broadmoor (stylized as THE BROADMOOR) is a hotel and resort in the Broadmoor neighborhood of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Broadmoor is a member of Historic Hotels of America of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Its visitors have included heads of state, celebrities, and professional sports stars. It is owned by The Anschutz Corporation through its subsidiary, The Broadmoor-Sea Island Company. The main resort complex, situated at the base of Cheyenne Mountain, is 6,230 feet (1,900 m) above sea level, and 5 miles (8.0 km) southwest of downtown Colorado Springs. The resort has hotel, conference, sports, and spa buildings that radiate out from Cheyenne Lake. The Broadmoor's Ranch at Emerald Valley is a luxury lodge and set of cabins situated on the backside of Cheyenne Mountain, while the Broadmoor's Cloud Camp is situated upon the top of Cheyenne Mountain. Historically, national and world skating and hockey championships were held at the Broadmoor World Arena, which was demolished in 1994 and replaced by another arena by the same name in Colorado Springs. Golf championships have been held at the Broadmoor Golf Club since 1921. The resort has also been the site of clay shooting championships.

It is located in the World Figure Skating Museum and Hall of Fame, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States.

The 1995 U.S. Women's Open was the 50th U.S. Women's Open, held July 13–16 at the East Course of Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Annika Sörenstam shot a final round 68 (−2) to win the first of her three U.S. Women's Opens, one stroke ahead of Meg Mallon, the 54-hole leader and 1991 champion. Sörenstam started the final round at even-par 210, five strokes back in a tie for fourth place; the victory was the first of her ten major titles. The event was televised by ESPN and for the first time by NBC Sports. Weather delays caused both of the first two rounds to be completed on the following day.The low amateur was Sarah LeBrun Ingram at 294 (+14), who was seven months pregnant. Dawn Coe-Jones, six months pregnant, finished in a tie for seventh.The 1995 edition was the first million dollar purse at the U.S. Women's Open, double that of 1990. It was only the fourth time the U.S. Women's Open was played in the western U.S. and the first ever in the Mountain Time Zone. The East Course, at an average elevation of over 6,200 feet (1,890 m) above sea level, hosted the championship again sixteen years later in 2011. Cherry Hills Country Club, south of Denver, hosted in between in 2005.

The 2011 U.S. Women's Open was the 66th U.S. Women's Open, played July 7–11 at The Broadmoor East Course in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was one of 13 national championships conducted by the United States Golf Association (USGA). The course is at an elevation of over 6,200 feet (1,890 m) above sea level and previously hosted the U.S. Women's Open in 1995, the first major championship won by Annika Sörenstam. Broadmoor East was the first course in the history of the tournament to play longer than 7,000 yards (6,400 m)Because of repeated weather delays during each of the tournament days, each round spanned multiple days and play was concluded on Monday, July 11.The champion was So Yeon Ryu of South Korea, who defeated compatriot Hee Kyung Seo in a three-hole aggregate playoff. Both players finished the regulation 72 holes at 281 (−3), two strokes ahead of Cristie Kerr. Seo completed her final round on Sunday and Ryu on Monday morning. Ryu won the playoff by three strokes, with birdies on the last two holes. This was the first U.S. Women's Open to use the three-hole aggregate playoff. The playoff was formerly 18 holes, last played in 2006; the format was changed for 2007. The tournament was televised by ESPN and NBC Sports.
