Greene County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 20,451. Its county seat is Snow Hill.

Zachariah School is a historic Rosenwald School building located near Wooten's Crossroads, Greene County, North Carolina. It was built in 1920, and is a one-story, frame building sheathed in weatherboard and containing three classrooms. An auditorium was added in 1921, but removed about 1967–1969. Zachariah School closed in 1956. The Zachariah School is one of five schools that were constructed using Rosenwald funds in Greene County, including the Snow Hill Colored High School.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Greene Central High School is a public high school located in Greene County, North Carolina. The middle school feeding upcoming students into Greene Central is Greene County Middle School. The school mascot is the Ram. It is one of five schools of the Greene County School System.

Snow Hill is a town in Greene County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,595 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Greene County and is part of the Greenville Metropolitan Area. Snow Hill hosts numerous tennis tournaments during the year. Snow Hill is home to the Green Ridge Racquet Club. Many junior players and adults travel to Snow Hill in order to play in the USTA (United States Tennis Association) Sanctioned tournaments.

Greene County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located at Snow Hill, Greene County, North Carolina. It was built in 1935, and is a two-story, conservative Classical Revival style brick building. The front facade features a Doric order pedimented portico. The building was constructed under the Works Project Administration.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is located in the Snow Hill Historic District.

Snow Hill Colored High School, also known as Greene County Colored Training School and Rosenwald Center for Cultural Enrichment, is a historic Rosenwald School building located at Snow Hill, Greene County, North Carolina. It was built in 1925, and is a one-story, seven-bay, H-shaped brick building. A six classroom addition was built about 1935. Also on the property are the contributing Mary M. Battle Monument (c. 1925) and baseball field (c. 1935, c. 1950). The Snow Hill Colored High School is one of five schools that were constructed using Rosenwald funds in Greene County, including the Zachariah School.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Snow Hill Historic District is a national historic district located at Snow Hill, Greene County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 229 contributing buildings, a contributing site (St. Barnabas Church Cemetery), two contributing structures, and a contributing object (Clara Ernart gravestone) in the central business district and surrounding residential sections of Snow Hill. The buildings are in a variety of popular 19th and early-20th century architectural styles including Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Colonial Revival, and, Bungalow / American Craftsman. Located in the district are the separately listed Greene County Courthouse and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Other notable buildings include J. Exum & Co. Grocery building, Harper Drugstore, Sugg-Harper House, Williams-Exum Housem, Murphrey-Morrill House (1885), Josiah Exum House (1887-1888), Alfred Warren House (1912-1915), Calvary Memorial Methodist Church (1928), Snow Hill Presbyterian Church (1935), and former First Baptist Church (1850, 1940).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, with a boundary increase in 2009.

St. Barnabas Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at SE 4th Street and St. Barnabas Road in Snow Hill, Greene County, North Carolina. It was built in 1887, and is a small, rectangular, Carpenter Gothic style frame building. It sits on a low brick foundation and has a steep gable roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Titus W. Carr House is a historic home and national historic district located near Walstonsburg, Greene County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1870, and is a two-story, double pile, three bay, transitional Greek Revival / Italianate style dwelling. It has a low hip roof and one-story full width front porch. Also on the property is a contributing smokehouse / storage house (c. 1870), smokehouse (c. 1900), former kitchen (c. 1870), and woodshed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Jason is a small unincorporated community in eastern North Carolina, United States, in Greene County. Incorporated in 1885, Jason is an agricultural based community with town water system and volunteer fire service. Jason is located roughly halfway between Snow Hill and LaGrange on Highway 903. First named Aloc, meaning "leave alone" by the Tuscarora Indian tribe, Jason was settled by the Hardy, Mewborn, Aldridge and Kearney families. There was also a cotton mill on the northern side of town, which was one of the first in Greene County.The Benjamin W. Best House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

It was built about 1850, and is a two-story, double pile, three bay, Greek Revival style heavy timber frame dwelling. It has a one-story rear addition built in 1938, a low hip roof, and one-story full width front porch. Also on the property is a contributing smokehouse (c. 1850).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
