Orchard was an artist-run exhibition and event space located at 47 Orchard Street in New York's Lower East Side from 2005-2008. The gallery was run as a for-profit limited liability corporation founded for the project. The partners included artists, filmmakers, critics, art historians, and curators. Orchard was among early contemporary art projects and galleries that moved onto Orchard and generally the Lower East Side below Delancey Street along with Miguel Abreu Gallery, Reena Spaulings, and Scorched Earth. Brandon Joseph noted, "the Orchard 'project' treaded a fine—and perhaps ultimately impossible—line between self-reflexivity and (to use a barbaric neologism) self-complicity, which could veer at times into self-promotion." Orchard's program focused on, "thematically, conceptually and politically driven group exhibitions and projects," according to the space's website.Orchard restaged or produced unrealized projects by Michael Asher, Andrea Fraser with Allan McCollum, Dan Graham, and Lawrence Weiner. Orchard has also presented historical works by Daniel Buren, Luis Camnitzer, Juan Downey, Hans Haacke, Roberto Jacoby, Adrian Piper, Anthony McCall and Martha Rosler, as well as new works by Martin Beck, Merlin Carpenter, Nicolás Guagnini, Jutta Koether, Josiah McElheny, Lucy McKenzie, Blake Rayne, Stephan Pascher, Jeff Preiss, R. H. Quaytman, Karin Schneider, and Jason Simon, among others.

Foley Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Manhattan, New York City, owned by Michael Foley. Since opening in 2004, Foley Gallery has moved from the Chelsea neighborhood to the Lower East Side in 2014. Among the artists Foley represents are Joseph Desler Costa, Wyatt Gallery, Sage Sohier, Martin Klimas, Simon Schubert, Henry Leutwyler and Ina Jang. Foley has previously shown work by Rosalind Solomon, Polixeni Papapetrou, Rachell Sumpter and Hank Willis Thomas.

Grand Street was a local station on the demolished IRT Second Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It had two levels. The lower level had two tracks and two side platforms and the upper level had one track that served the express trains. The next stop to the north was Rivington Street. The next stop to the south was Canal Street. The station closed on June 13, 1942.

Shin Gallery is an encyclopedic art gallery owned by Hong Gyu Shin. It specializes in modern and contemporary art and hosts museum-quality exhibitions. It is located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York, and opened in 2013. In 2014, an immersive project space was opened next to the gallery. In 2017 Shin Gallery expanded to include three different gallery spaces on Orchard Street. In 2020 Shin Haus was launched, a program with the aim of discovering up-and-coming artists. Shin Gallery also specializes in rediscovering overlooked artists, traditionally marginalized due to their ethnicity and gender. Work is also done with a variety of venues including national heritage sites, hotels, and public spaces further demonstrating its international agenda.

339 Grand Street, also addressed as 57 Ludlow Street, located at the corner of Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City was completed in c. 1831–1833 in the Federal style as one of five row houses constructed by John Jacob Astor on property he purchased in 1806. The early tenants of the building were several dry goods merchants. The rear addition on Ludlow Street was built c.1855. The front of the house has been a storefront since at least 1884.The house, a rare example of a surviving Federal-style house in Manhattan, is the only one of the five row houses built by Astor that is still largely intact. It features "a front facade with Flemish bond brickwork, high peaked roof and dormer", and the rear retains its "flat roof, stone lintels and sills, and cornice." The house is 3.5 stories in height in the front – three in the rear – and is 17 feet (5.2 m) wide.The house was designated a New York City landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission on October 29, 2013.

Scarr's Pizza is a pizzeria at 22 Orchard Street in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The restaurant was founded in 2016 by Scarr Pimentel, a New York native who learned to make pizza at Lombardi's.Staff mills some of the wheat for the restaurant's fermented crust in the pizzeria's basement daily, mixing it with flour from upstate New York in a compromise to keep up with demand. It is the only pizza-by-the-slice restaurant milling its own flour in New York, according to Serious Eats. Gothamist wrote that its cheese is a combination of three types of mozzarella and sauce is made fresh.The restaurant sourced much of its decor from a bowling alley which, in combination with its wood paneled walls, and letter boards, is intended to recreate the diner-like aesthetic of neighborhood pizzerias from the 1970s or 1980s. Several reviewers praised the dough, cheese, sauce, and ingredient selection, and it was named one of the best pizza slices in New York by the New York Times, Gothamist, and Serious Eats. In a mixed review by The Infatuation, Bryan Kim wrote that Scarr's works better if you think of it as a bar that serves pizza rather than expect a comfortable sit-down restaurant.A second location in a food hall in Midtown Manhattan was planned, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Company Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located at 145 Elizabeth street in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan. The gallery was established in 2015 by Sophie Mörner and Taylor Trabulus became a partner in the gallery in 2022. The gallery was recipient of the 2019 Frieze New York Frame award.

Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery is a contemporary art gallery on Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side neighborhood of New York City.The gallery was founded in 2004 by Matthew Chase, Ingrid Bromberg Kennedy, Robert Hult, and Sam Wilson. The Gallery was originally located in a storefront space at 438 Union Avenue in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. In 2011 the gallery moved to Manhattan. Klaus von Nichtssagend hosts an average of nine shows each year in two gallery rooms.

The Metrograph is an independent two-screen movie theater at 7 Ludlow Street in the Dimes Square section of the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It opened in 2016 with two theatres, a bookstore, a "curated" concession stand, and a restaurant. It was founded by Alexander Olch, who is better known as a designer of men's ties.

47 Canal is a contemporary art gallery in New York, NY. It was founded in 2011 by artist Margaret Lee and art dealer Oliver Newton.

Gertel's Bakery was a kosher bake shop on New York's Lower East Side. Located at 53 Hester Street, Gertel's Bakery operated from 1914 until the retail store closed on June 21, 2007. It merged with Delancey Bakery and its successor operates as Gertel's Uptown, 101 Steuben Street, Brooklyn, NY, providing wholesale business only.
