Company Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located at 145 Elizabeth street in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan. The gallery was established in 2015 by Sophie Mörner and Taylor Trabulus became a partner in the gallery in 2022. The gallery was recipient of the 2019 Frieze New York Frame award.

Foley Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Manhattan, New York City, owned by Michael Foley. Since opening in 2004, Foley Gallery has moved from the Chelsea neighborhood to the Lower East Side in 2014. Among the artists Foley represents are Joseph Desler Costa, Wyatt Gallery, Sage Sohier, Martin Klimas, Simon Schubert, Henry Leutwyler and Ina Jang. Orchard was an artist-run exhibition and event space located at 47 Orchard Street in New York's Lower East Side from 2005-2008. The gallery was run as a for-profit limited liability corporation founded for the project. The partners included artists, filmmakers, critics, art historians, and curators. Orchard was among early contemporary art projects and galleries that moved onto Orchard and generally the Lower East Side below Delancey Street along with Miguel Abreu Gallery, Reena Spaulings, and Scorched Earth. Brandon Joseph noted, "the Orchard 'project' treaded a fine—and perhaps ultimately impossible—line between self-reflexivity and (to use a barbaric neologism) self-complicity, which could veer at times into self-promotion." Orchard's program focused on, "thematically, conceptually and politically driven group exhibitions and projects," according to the space's website.Orchard restaged or produced unrealized projects by Michael Asher, Andrea Fraser with Allan McCollum, Dan Graham, and Lawrence Weiner. Orchard has also presented historical works by Daniel Buren, Luis Camnitzer, Juan Downey, Hans Haacke, Roberto Jacoby, Adrian Piper, Anthony McCall and Martha Rosler, as well as new works by Martin Beck, Merlin Carpenter, Nicolás Guagnini, Jutta Koether, Josiah McElheny, Lucy McKenzie, Blake Rayne, Stephan Pascher, Jeff Preiss, R. H. Quaytman, Karin Schneider, and Jason Simon, among others.

Dirt Candy is a vegetarian restaurant in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Chef and owner Amanda Cohen opened the restaurant in a small East Village space in 2008, and moved to its present location in 2015. It has received critical attention for its creative dishes which often focus on a single vegetable.

Shin Gallery is an encyclopedic art gallery owned by Hong Gyu Shin. It specializes in modern and contemporary art and hosts museum-quality exhibitions. It is located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York, and opened in 2013. In 2014, an immersive project space was opened next to the gallery. Invisible-Exports is a contemporary art gallery located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York. It is co-owned and directed by Risa Needleman and Benjamin Tischer and recognized for housing provocative and controversial exhibitions. The gallery represents a small roster of influential avant-garde artists, including iconic artist Genesis P-Orridge. The gallery is part of a network of galleries in the LES, referred to as a "gallery district." The gallery participates in "Third Thursdays", an initiative instituted by the LES Business Improvement District that seeks to elevate interest in the area by encouraging galleries to stay open until 9pm on the third Thursday of every month.

Kehila Kedosha Janina (Holy Community of Janina) is a synagogue on 280 Broome Street between Allen and Eldridge Streets in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It was built in 1925-27 and was designed by Sydney Daub and is now the only Romaniote rite synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. Romaniote traditions are separate from those of both Sephardic and Ashkenazi Judaism, deriving their lineage in The Eastern Mediterranean for nearly 2000 years, long before the Spanish Inquisition.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 30, 1999, and was designated a New York City landmark on May 11, 2004. It underwent a major restoration in 2006 by architect Leonard Colchamiro, a descendant of one of the community's original founders.

Guss' Pickles was founded by a Polish immigrant, Isidor Guss. Guss arrived in New York in 1910, and like hundreds of thousands of other Jewish immigrants, settled in the Lower East Side. Clustered in the "pickle district" of Essex and Ludlow streets, early 20th century pickle vendors gave birth to what would be known as "New York style" pickles. Guss at first worked for L. Hollander and Sons, before opening his own store. At the time, the neighborhood was teeming with 80 other pickle shops. However, immigration restrictions, a ban on pushcarts and the steady economic decline of the Lower East Side felled almost all of these shops. Guss' Pickles withstood the economic difficulty and now remains as the last store from the days of the Essex Street empire. In 1979, Harry Baker and his partner Burt Blitz took over Guss' Pickles. Through the 1980s and into the 2000s, Baker and his son Tim ran the store. .Guss' Pickles was featured in the film Crossing Delancey. Guss' Pickles ships gallon size nationwide at their official web-site GussPickles.com. In June 2017 Guss' Pickles opened a new store in Brooklyn inside the Dekalb Market Hall.

339 Grand Street, also addressed as 57 Ludlow Street, located at the corner of Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City was completed in c. 1831–1833 in the Federal style as one of five row houses constructed by John Jacob Astor on property he purchased in 1806. The early tenants of the building were several dry goods merchants. The rear addition on Ludlow Street was built c.1855. The front of the house has been a storefront since at least 1884.The house, a rare example of a surviving Federal-style house in Manhattan, is the only one of the five row houses built by Astor that is still largely intact. It features "a front facade with Flemish bond brickwork, high peaked roof and dormer", and the rear retains its "flat roof, stone lintels and sills, and cornice." The house is 3.5 stories in height in the front – three in the rear – and is 17 feet (5.2 m) wide.The house was designated a New York City landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission on October 29, 2013.
