William M. Raines High School

Jean Ribault High School is a public high school located in North Jacksonville, Florida. It is part of Duval County Public Schools.

The Lewis Mausoleum is a historic mausoleum in Jacksonville, Florida. It is located in Memorial Cemetery, at the junction of Edgewood Avenue and Moncreif Road. On October 24, 1997, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The mausoleum is the resting place of Abraham Lincoln Lewis (1865-1947), a Florida pioneer and prominent businessman in the African-American community. Lewis was co-founder of Afro-American Life, an early provider of insurance services to African-Americans. He also responded to segregation by opening a country club, a golf course and an oceanfront recreational area that welcomed a non-white clientele. He assisted Booker T. Washington in the creation of the national Negro Business League, and supported historically black colleges. He is interred with his first wife, Mary Sammis Lewis (1865-1923).

Jacksonville station is an Amtrak train station in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. It serves the Silver Meteor and Silver Star trains as well as Amtrak Thruway buses to Lakeland. The station is located at 3570 Clifford Ln, Jacksonville, FL.

Grand Crossing, Florida is a railway junction located in Florida. The site was so named in 1899 when two railroads crossed the Waycross–Jacksonville line of the Savannah, Florida & Western (Plant System) at almost the same location near Jacksonville, Florida. One was the Atlantic, Valdosta & Western and the other the Jacksonville & Southwestern Railroad. The AV&W extended from Valdosta, Georgia, to a terminal on East Bay Street in downtown Jacksonville. The J&SW was owned by the Cummer Lumber Company, and extended from its mills on the St. Johns River north of the then-city limits of Jacksonville to Newberry, Florida. The J&SW built a spur paralleling the AV&W to a terminal adjacent to its on East Bay Street.

Moncrief Springs, originally known as Moncrief's springs or Moncrief Spring, is a natural spring near Jacksonville, Florida in Duval County, Florida.

On August 26, 2023, three people were fatally shot by a gunman in a mass shooting that took place at a Dollar General store in Jacksonville, Florida. Authorities identified Ryan Christopher Palmeter as the gunman, described as a 21-year-old White male. Palmeter shot and killed himself after he barricaded himself in an office. The incident has been described as a terrorist attack, was racially motivated, and is currently under investigation as a hate crime.

A. Philip Randolph Academies of Technology, also known as Randolph Skill Center High School and formerly known as Northside Skills Center, is one of twelve high schools in Jacksonville, Florida (of nineteen in the Duval County Public Schools network) to offer the advanced curriculum and skills training of Duval County's MAGNET programs. It was the first of three skill centers to be built in Jacksonville for the sole purpose of teaching trades (along with Westside Skills Center and Southside Skills Center, now known as Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology and Southside Middle School, respectively) before being converted to academic use in 1997.

Paxon School for Advanced Studies (PSAS) is one of four International Baccalaureate senior high schools (the others being Stanton College Preparatory School, Wolfson High School, and Terry Parker High School) in Duval County, Florida. According to the College Board's Advanced Placement Report, Paxon has one of the strongest math and science Advanced Placement programs in the state of Florida. Because of this accomplishment, Paxon is one of a select group of Florida schools invited to apply for the Siemens Advanced Placement High School Award. Only ten to fifteen schools per state are invited to apply. Some valedictorians have been accepted to the United States Naval Academy and different Ivy League schools.

Edward Waters University is a private Christian historically Black university in Jacksonville, Florida. It was founded in 1866 by members of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME Church) as a school to educate freedmen and their children. It was the first independent institution of higher education and the first historically black college in the State of Florida. It continues to be affiliated with the AME Church and is a member of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida.

Gateway Town Center (commonly called Gateway Mall or Gateway) is an indoor/outdoor shopping center located in the Jacksonville, Florida neighborhood of Brentwood, just off Interstate 95 (exit 355 and 356) at Golfair Boulevard and Norwood Avenue. Developed in the 1950s, it has over 70 stores, and is anchored by Publix. The mall originally consisted of a strip center with Food Fair, G. C. Murphy, J. C. Penney, Winn Dixie, and W. T. Grant (later May-Cohen's). A 1967 expansion added the enclosed mall, anchored by a new J. C. Penney store and Jefferson Ward, later Zayre.

Stanton College Preparatory School is a preparatory high school in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Stanton College Preparatory School is a highly selective school that offers both the Advanced Placement and the International Baccalaureate. The school's history dates to the 1860s, serving as the first school for Black students in the state of Florida. It was begun as an elementary school serving the African-American population under the then-segregated education system. It now serves secondary students (grades 9–12) within the Duval County Public Schools of Duval County, Florida. The school offers special curricula which include Honors courses, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate courses. In 2005, the Advanced Placement Report to the Nation recognized Stanton College Preparatory School as the best large size high school for Advanced Placement in the world. Stanton was called "one of the premier IB and AP public schools in the country" by Jay Mathews in his 2005 book Supertest: How the International Baccalaureate Can Strengthen Our Schools. Most Stanton students attend some form of college after graduation, whether four-year or two-year institutions, local, national, or international. In 2014, the Washington Post ranked the school as the 4th most challenging high school in the Southern United States.

The Trout River Bridge is a six lane segmental bridge carrying Interstate 95 across Trout River, 5 miles (8.0 km) north of downtown Jacksonville, Florida. It is the third crossing of I-95 south of Georgia. A Trout River Bridge Replacement project commenced in 2005 which replaced the original bridge with a six lane bridge; this project was completed in July 2008.
