Stadttheater Ingolstadt is a theatre in Bavaria, Germany.

Ingolstadt (German: [ˈɪŋɡɔlˌʃtat] , Austro-Bavarian: [ˈɪŋl̩ʃtɔːd]) is an independent city on the Danube in Upper Bavaria with 139,553 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2022). Around half a million people live in the metropolitan area. Ingolstadt is the second largest city in Upper Bavaria after Munich and the fifth largest city in Bavaria after Munich, Nuremberg, Augsburg and Regensburg. The city passed the mark of 100,000 inhabitants in 1989 and has since been one of the major cities in Germany. After Regensburg, Ingolstadt is the second largest German city on the Danube. The city was first mentioned in 806. In the late Middle Ages, the city was one of the capitals of the Bavarian duchies alongside Munich, Landshut and Straubing, which is reflected in the architecture. On March 13, 1472, Ingolstadt became the seat of the first university in Bavaria, which later distinguished itself as the center of the Counter-Reformation. The freethinking Illuminati order was also founded here in 1776 . The city was also a Bavarian state fortress for more than 400 years. The historic old town has been preserved. There are two colleges in the city. The place is one of the three regional centers in Bavaria. The city is mainly characterized by the manufacturing industry, such as automobile and mechanical engineering. The unemployment rate was 3.3% in February 2022.

Franz Freiherr von Mercy (or Merci), Lord of Mandre and Collenburg (c. 1597 – 3 August 1645), was a German field marshal in the Thirty Years' War who fought for the Imperial side and was commander-in-chief of the Bavarian army from 1643 to 1645. In that role, he destroyed a French army at Tuttlingen (1643), stalemated another at Freiburg (1644), destroyed a third French army at Herbsthausen (1645) and was killed at the Second Battle of Nördlingen (1645).

The New Castle in Ingolstadt is one of the most important Gothic secular buildings of the 15th Century in Bavaria. The builders were Louis VII, Duke of Bavaria-Ingolstadt and Duke George the Rich of Bavaria-Landshut, both of the Wittelsbach dynasty. The neighboring Old Castle, a medieval fortress from the 13th Century, is today called Herzogkasten.

The Bayerisches Armeemuseum is the Military History Museum of Bavaria. It was founded in 1879 in Munich and is located in Ingolstadt since 1972. The main collection is housed in the New Castle, the permanent exhibition about the First World War in Reduit Tilly opened in 1994 and the Armeemuseum incorporated the Bayerisches Polizeimuseum (Bavarian Police Museum) in the Turm Triva in 2012. Today, part of the former Munich Museum building is the central building of the new Bayerische Staatskanzlei (Bavarian State Chancellery).

Schutter is a river of Bavaria, Germany. It is a left tributary of the Danube in Ingolstadt.

The Jesuit College of Ingolstadt (German: Jesuitenkolleg Ingolstadt) was a Jesuit school in Ingolstadt, in the Duchy and Electorate of Bavaria, founded in 1556, that operated until the suppression of the Jesuit Order in 1773. The college was the headquarters of the Jesuits in Germany, and became a center of the Counter-Reformation. Many of its members taught at the University of Ingolstadt.

The Technical University Ingolstadt of Applied Sciences (Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI)) is a German public research-oriented university of applied sciences (Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften) located in Ingolstadt. Founded in 1994, it currently has around 6,500 students in five faculties and offers more than 80 courses of study. The central focus of research and teaching are in technology and business. The main campus is located in the center of Ingolstadt. The second campus is located in Neuburg an der Donau.

The Bavarian Police Museum (Bayerische Polizeimuseum) is the central museum of the Bavarian State Police, housed in the historic Turm Triva in the Klenzepark in Ingolstadt. It opened on 19 December 2011. It includes a variety of exhibits dating from 1918 onwards and explains the history, organisation and development of policing in Bavaria since the 1918–19 Bavarian Revolution. Previously owned by the Police itself, in 2007 the collection became a department of the Bavarian Army Museum.

The Kreuztor, built in 1385, is the western gateway to the medieval city center of Ingolstadt. The tower's name is derived from the leper house belonging to the Church of the Holy Cross (Kirche zum heiligen Kreuz), which stood to the west of the city walls until its destruction in the Schmalkaldic War in 1546. This seven-turreted guard tower was part of Ingolstadt's second city wall. Of the city's four principal gates (the Feldkirchnertor, Hardertor, Kreuztor and Donautor), only this and the Feldkirchnertor survive today, the latter as part of the castle complex.

The WFI – Ingolstadt School of Management (or WFI Ingolstadt) is a leading German business school and the faculty of business administration and economics of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. The WFI (meaning "Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Fakultät Ingolstadt" ) is one of Germany's foremost business schools and the modern successor of Bavaria's first university, i.e. the ancient University of Ingolstadt. It is also Germany's only catholic business school and specifically marked with compulsory courses in economic and business ethics and an obligatory choice of a foreign commercial language course.

Saturn Arena (German pronunciation: [zatʊʁn aʁeːnaː]) is an arena in Ingolstadt, Germany. It is primarily used for the ice hockey club ERC Ingolstadt. Saturn Arena opened in 2003 and holds 4,815 people.
