Aspendale railway station is located on the Frankston line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Aspendale, and opened in April 1891 as Aspendale Park Racecourse. It was renamed Aspendale on 1 August 1905.

Aspendale Racecourse or Aspendale Park Racecourse, located at Aspendale, Victoria, Australia, was a horse racing venue, and the world's first purpose-built motor racing track. Aspendale Racecourse opened on 14 April 1891. It was established by James Robert Crooke, a horse trainer, who named the course after Aspen, one of his best horses, which had won the Newmarket Handicap twice, in 1880 and 1881.The track was situated east of the current Aspendale railway station and is believed to have been one mile (1.6 km) in length. Garden landscaping was designed by William Guilfoyle, who was the director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne.Crooke was also a motoring enthusiast. In 1904, the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria held its first automobile demonstration at Aspendale Racecourse. In 1905, Crooke built a motor raceway, Australia's "first commercial track", inside the existing horse racing track. It was also the world's first purpose-built motor racing circuit, holding its first race meeting in January 1906. The pear-shaped track was close to one mile (1.6 km) in length, with slightly banked curves and a surface of crushed cement. Two racing car meetings were held, in January and November 1906, before the circuit fell into disuse. A banked track was constructed in 1923 over the original saucer-shaped track, but it had fallen into disuse again by 1930. The circuit was briefly revived after the Depression, but had ceased operating prior to World War II. The last recorded horse race at Aspendale Park was on 29 July 1931. Motor racing continued until the late 1940s. The area is now residential housing.

Aspendale Gardens is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 27 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Kingston local government area. Aspendale Gardens recorded a population of 6,427 at the 2021 census.Wells Road (State Route 23) transects the suburb. The M11 Mornington Peninsula Freeway and Springvale Road/Edithvale Road (Route 40) run along the border of Aspendale Gardens. There are a number of open areas and playgrounds facilities in Aspendale Gardens, including a cricket oval behind Aspendale Gardens Primary School, 6 playgrounds and over 20 large grassy areas spaced throughout the housing estates. There are many walking trails throughout Aspendale Gardens, including the Longbeach Trail (from the Patterson River to the Mordialloc Pier), the Mordialloc Creek Trail (from the Waterways Trail to Mordialloc Pier), the Waterways Trail (from Wells Road to Waterways) and the Aspendale Gardens Trail (from 7-Eleven to the Longbeach Trail outside St. Louis de Montfort's School).

Mordialloc railway station is located on the Frankston line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Mordialloc, and it opened on 19 December 1881.Stabling facilities are located at the Frankston (down) end of the station, whilst a third track is located through the middle of station, normally only used by Qube's Long Island steel freight train, and trains shunting into the yard. A pedestrian underpass is located at the up end of the station. The station precinct itself has a number of heritage buildings and elements, including the cottage style historic station buildings (1882 and 1887), and the last remaining example of an Edwardian–style railway water tower (1910) in Victoria, also known as a "Type H" water tower.

Mordialloc ( MOR-dee-AL-ək) is a beachside suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 24 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Kingston local government area. Mordialloc recorded a population of 8,886 at the 2021 census.

Mordialloc Aboriginal Reserve in Victoria on the coast of Port Phillip Bay was on traditional land of the Bunurong people to which they gradually retreated from surrounding areas after white settlement from the 1850s. Most had moved, or had been relocated, to Coranderk by the mid-1860s.

Waterways is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 25 km (16 mi) south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Kingston local government area. Waterways recorded a population of 2,422 at the 2021 census.Originally a housing development, it is surrounded by the much larger suburbs of Braeside, Aspendale Gardens, Keysborough and Bangholme, and the Mornington Peninsula Freeway traverses the western side of the suburb. It is Australia's only suburb that's 20% parkland and 40% water, and over 46 hectares (110 acres) of wildlife sanctuary were artificially created in and around the old wetlands along the Mordialloc Creek (a distributary of lower Dandenong Creek), hence the suburb's name. The suburb's location is environmentally sensitive as it is situated directly between two important conservation areas, the Braeside Park and Edithvale Wetlands. Planning permits are strictly regulated and gardens monitored to prevent the introduction of foreign species that may become invasive and threaten the abundant native wildlife in the area. The Mornington Peninsula branch of the Bird Observers Club of Australia or PENBOC have documented 105 different species of birds in the area, and domestic cats are also forbidden for this reason.

Chelsea railway station is located on the Frankston line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Chelsea, and it opened on 4 February 1907.
