West Charlotte High School (also called Dub-C or WC) is a comprehensive high school in west Charlotte, near Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is state-funded.

Northwest School of the Arts is a grade 6 through 12 art magnet school in Charlotte, North Carolina. The school enrolls around 1100 students. Students audition for acceptance and choose a major. Majors available include performing arts (theatre, technical theatre, musical theatre, ballet, modern dance, tap, jazz, orchestra, choir, and band) and visual arts (painting, drawing, studio, printmaking, photography, fibers, sculpting, ceramics, and other classes which depend on availability and student participation), as well as technical theatre. A communications major was added for the 2010–2011 school year and beyond. NWSA hosts a variety of AP classes, including AP art classes such as AP Studio and AP academics like AP English and AP Biology. Northwest students are active in organizations such as Student Leadership, Diversity Club, Yearbook, Literary Magazine, various honors societies. Every morning, Northwest School of the Arts begins the day with a "Daily Affirmation". The affirmation was written by long time dancer, choreographer, and faculty member Chandra McCloud. The affirmation, which follows the Pledge of Allegiance, reads: "I have a gift. I am talented. I am a doer; not a quitter. I matter to others and to myself. That is why I will be good to others and good to myself. I am a leader. I will walk in my excellence."

First Baptist Church–West is a church in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Dating to 1867, the church is Charlotte's oldest black Baptist congregation. It is known for its modernist building in the McCrorey Heights area of Charlotte. Built in 1977, the building was the first church designed by a young Harvey Gantt, an architect and future first black mayor of Charlotte from 1983 to 1987. It has been recognized with a preservation grant an initiative funded by the National Trust for Historic Preservation's African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund and the Getty Foundation.

WTCG (870 kHz) is an AM radio station licensed to Mount Holly, North Carolina, and serving the Charlotte metropolitan area. It is owned by Fiorini Broadcasting, LLC. It is managed by Bible Clarity, based in Birmingham, Alabama. WTCG has a Christian talk and teaching radio format. By day, WTCG transmits with 5,000 watts, using a non-directional antenna. Because 870 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for WWL in New Orleans, WTCG must sign off at night. WTCG's transmitter is off North Hoskins Road in Charlotte, near Interstate 85. Programming is heard around the clock on 250 watt FM translator W222CW at 92.3 in Charlotte.

WOGR (1540 AM) is a radio station in Charlotte, North Carolina. The station has an urban gospel radio format with some Christian talk and teaching programs. It is owned by Victory Christian Center, a charismatic megachurch in Charlotte. Programming is simulcast on WOGR-FM (93.3) in Salisbury, WGAS (1420 AM) in South Gastonia and FM translator W202BW (88.3 MHz) in Harrisburg. VCC also owns low-powered Christian television station WGTB-CD. Together, these stations are branded as the "Word of God Broadcasting Network" (WordNet), airing from studios at the church's middle school in northwest Charlotte. WOGR is a daytimer, powered at 2,400 watts, using a directional antenna. Because AM 1540 is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A stations KXEL in Waterloo, Iowa and ZNS-1 in Nassau, Bahamas, WOGR must sign-off the air at sunset.

Washington Heights is a neighborhood area of Charlotte, North Carolina. It was founded in 1912 as a planned streetcar suburb for mainly Black residents along the Beatties Ford Road streetcar line. Washington Heights was further developed during 1930s, with the addition of streets lined with bungalows and locally owned businesses. The late 1960s saw the construction of the Brookshire Freeway, which went through the southern end of the neighborhood. More recent preservation and redevelopment projects aim to maintain the neighborhood's cultural heritage, while addressing housing and investment challenges.

French Street is a streetcar station in Charlotte, North Carolina. The at-grade island platform on Beatties Ford Road is the western terminus of the CityLynx Gold Line and serves the Biddleville neighborhood.

WGIV (1600 kHz) was a commercial AM radio station, licensed to Charlotte, North Carolina, and serving the Charlotte metropolitan area. It was the first station in the Charlotte radio market to target the African-American audience full time.

The Irwin Belk Complex is a multi-use 4,500 seat stadium on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) in Charlotte, North Carolina United States. The stadium plays host to JCSU events. It is named for benefactor, Irwin Belk of Belk stores fame.

The AvidxChange Music Factory is an entertainment complex located in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. It consists of two concert venues and a number of restaurants and bars on the former site of a mill in the northern end of the downtown area.

Biddle Memorial Hall is a historic building located on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1883, and is a 3 1/2-story, five bay Romanesque style brick and stone building on a raised basement. It features an elaborate clock tower with a pyramidal slate roof and baritizans at each corner. It was built as the main building for the school established in 1867 by the Presbyterian church for the education of African-American students. It was named in 1923 to honor Mary D. Biddle who donated $1,400 to the school.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
