Victoria Airport (Montreal)

The Parc d'entreprises de la Pointe-Saint-Charles, formerly known as the Montreal Technoparc and Adaport Victoria, is an industrial park and former industrial dump in the Pointe-Saint-Charles neighbourhood of Montreal, between the Champlain and Victoria bridges.

Goose Village (French: "Village-aux-Oies") was a neighbourhood in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Its official but less commonly used name was Victoriatown, after the adjacent Victoria Bridge. The neighbourhood was built on an area formerly known as Windmill Point, where thousands of Irish immigrants died from disease in 1847 and 1848. The entire neighborhood was demolished in 1964 as part of preparations for Expo 67, to be replaced by a football stadium and parking lot.

Victoria STOLport (IATA: YMY, ICAO: CYMY) was a short take-off and landing aerodrome near downtown Montreal during the mid-1970s. The STOLport had been constructed on the former parking lot for Expo 67. The airport operated a two-year STOL demonstration service, with the participation of the Ministry of Transportation, the Canadian Air Transport Administration and other Federal Agencies in order to obtain and evaluate the data on passengers and economics of the STOL service. The choice of the route fell on the Montreal – Ottawa corridor, between which 2.5 million people travelled every year. The STOLport in Ottawa was Rockcliffe Airport because of its proximity to downtown. Airtransit Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Canada was incorporated on June 19, 1973 with six de Havilland DHC-6-300 (M.O.T.) Twin Otter, registered as CF-CST, CF-CSU, CF-CSV, CF-CSW, CF-CSX, CF-CSY, while regular flights started in early 1974. At the end of the demonstration, the service was discontinued and the STOLport decommissioned and eventually turned into the Montreal Technoparc technology park.

Bâtiment 7 is a space of 90,000 square foot in Montreal in the Quebec province in Canada, converted into a shared community space, in the Pointe Saint-Charles suburb of Montreal. It is located on the previous plot of real estate owned by the train company Canadian National Railway (CN). In 2003, a group of persons living in Pointe Saint-Charles planted a symbolic flag on the terrain that hosted old workshops CN. The popular movement was to demand adapted facilities on the lot for the neighbourhood. Two years after the start of the campaign, CN transferred the lot for a symbolic C$1 to Groupe Mach, a real estate entity that was to facilitate movement of Casino de Montréal to the area financed jointly by Loto Québec and Cirque du Soleil. An important protest was mobilised by various community associations and after 14 years of activism was able to take legal possession of the plot in 2016. Decontamination efforts were pursued and in May 2018, Bâtiment 7 opened its doors. The struggle for the development of the area resulted in the citizens acquiring further space around the facility for community use in 2021.Bâtiment 7 is a complex run independently by the collective "7 à Nous". It included various projects like Le Détour fruits, vegetables and food store run by volunteers, in an area in need of affordable priced food, also Sans-Taverne, a home beer cooperative that distributes beers and alcoholic products in more than 100 locations and bars. The complex also includes the cooperative Press Start that organizes lectures and debates in public gatherings of youth between 14 and 21 years and La Coulée, a solidarity collective teaching various skills including metallurgy. Other collaborative services include preparing cadres of auto and bicycle mechanics, carpentry, silk-screen printing, work on ceramics and photography. Other planned projects include a collaborative culinary space, child birth aid, a nursery and autonomous works.

Île-des-Soeurs station is a Réseau express métropolitain (REM) station on Nuns' Island in Montreal's borough of Verdun. It is operated by CDPQ Infra and serves as a station on the South Shore branch of the REM.It is located between the headquarters of Bell Canada (to the north) and the Place du Commerce shopping centre (to the south) atop Highway 10/A 15. It opened on 31 July 2023.

Pointe-Saint-Charles (also known in English as Point Saint Charles, and locally as The Point, or "PSC") is a neighbourhood in the borough of Le Sud-Ouest in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Historically a working-class area, the creation of many new housing units, the recycling of industrial buildings into business incubators, lofts, and condos, the 2002 re-opening of the canal as a recreation and tourism area, the improvement of public spaces, and heritage enhancement have all helped transform the neighbourhood and attract new residents. Community groups continue to be pro-active in areas related to the fight against poverty and the improvement of living conditions.

The Irish Commemorative Stone (also known as the Black Rock) is a monument in Pointe-Saint-Charles, island of Montreal, Quebec commemorating the deaths from "ship fever" (typhoid) of 6,000 mostly Irish immigrants to Canada during the immigration following the Great Irish Famine in the years 1847-1848. It was decided to place the boulder to preserve the location of the cemetery that contains mostly Irish emigrants. James Hodges who was in charge of building the Victoria Bridge wrote of the day the stone was placed in his book.The weight is approximately 30-tonnes, and size of approximately 3 meters or 10-foot high.Officially named the Irish Commemorative Stone, it is more commonly known as the Black Rock and also has been referred to as the Ship Fever Monument or the Boulder Stone.As of October 2023 the Montreal Irish Monument Park Foundation became the owner of the monument. Plans are to make a park in the area and it is to be completed by the year 2030.

The Autostade (the English name Automotive Stadium was rarely used) was a Canadian football stadium in the Victoriatown neighbourhood of Montreal, Quebec that stood at the north-west corner of the Cité du Havre sector of the Expo 67 site. It was the home of the CFL's Montreal Alouettes from 1968 to 1976, except for a brief period in 1972 when the team returned to its previous home, Molson Stadium.

The Maison Saint-Gabriel Museum is located in Montreal, Quebec and is dedicated to preserving the history, heritage and artifacts of the settlers of New France in the mid 17th century. The museum consists of a small farm, which has been administered for more than 300 years by the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame of Montreal, founded by Marguerite Bourgeoys in Montreal in 1658. The site was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2007.

Marguerite Bourgeoys Park (French: Parc Marguerite-Bourgeoys) is a park in the Pointe-Saint-Charles neighbourhood of the Le Sud-Ouest borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is bordered by du Parc Marguerite-Bourgeoys Street to the north and east, des Filles du Roy Street to the south, and Wellington Street to the west. The park was created in 1910. It initially was named Monahan Park. It was renamed Marguerite Bourgeoys Park in 1922.The park is named for Marguerite Bourgeoys, the French founder of the Congregation of Notre Dame of Montreal in the colony of New France (present-day Quebec). She has been declared a Saint by the Catholic Church.

Nuns' Island (officially Île des Sœurs; French pronunciation: [il de sœʁ]) is an island located in the Saint Lawrence River that forms a part of the city of Montreal, Quebec. It is part of the borough of Verdun.

Wellington Street (officially in French: Rue Wellington) is an north–south thoroughfare located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It starts at LaSalle Boulevard in the borough of Verdun, passes through Pointe-Saint-Charles and Griffintown in the borough of Le Sud-Ouest, and terminates at McGill Street in Old Montreal in the borough of Ville-Marie. Wellington Street spans 5.7 km (3.5 mi) in length. De L'Église métro station is located on the street. Wellington Street is named for Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington (1769–1852), a British field marshal and two-time prime minister of the United Kingdom. The Duke of Wellington is best known for having defeated Napoleon I of France in the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815.Wellington Street serves as a shopping district for the borough of Verdun and most of the neighbourhood of Pointe Saint-Charles. It is primarily industrial between the railroad tracks in Pointe Saint-Charles and the Bonaventure Expressway. The electrical substation Poste Adélard-Godbout and the de L'Église metro station are sited on the street.
