St Peter's Church, Cowfold

Cowfold is a village and civil parish between Billingshurst and Haywards Heath in the Horsham District of West Sussex, England. The village is at the intersection of the A272 and A281 roads. The parish has a land area of 1,926 hectares (4,760 acres). In the 2001 census 1,864 people lived in 729 households, of whom 987 were economically active. The population at the 2011 Census had risen to 1,904.The village has a shop, café, Indian restaurant, beauty salon, hairdressers, barbers, VW motor service centre and lawn-mower shop. The 'Hare and Hounds' pub is also to the south of the village. The thirteenth-century Anglican parish church is dedicated to Saint Peter. At Parkminster, formerly Picknoll Farm, is St. Hugh's Charterhouse, Parkminster, the only post-Reformation Carthusian monastery in the United Kingdom. An Éolienne Bollée there has been restored.The village has Scout groups and Guide groups, which meet in the local scout hut on the playing field.

Shermanbury is a village and civil parish in the Horsham District of West Sussex, England. It lies on the A281 road approximately 2 miles (3 km) north of Henfield. The present day village consists mainly of a ribbon development of bungalows on the east side of the A281, while the ancient parish church is to the east by Shermanbury Place. Between these is Ewhurst Manor, a 16th-century house on an old moated site with a 14th-century stone gatehouse and nearby artificial lake and farmstead. The eastern River Adur flows through Shermanbury, where it is met by the Cowfold Stream. The Normal Tidal Limit is at the footbridge near the church although a weir further downstream means only the highest tides reach this far. Boats could reach Mock Bridge (where the A281 crosses the river) until the early 1800s. The parish has a land area of 775 hectares (1,915 acres). In the 2001 census 454 people lived in 182 households of whom 253 were economically active. The population at the 2011 Census was 542.

Leonardslee is an English country house and English landscape garden and woodland garden in Lower Beeding, near Horsham, West Sussex, England. The Grade I listed garden is particularly significant for its spring displays of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, magnolias and bluebells, with the flowering season reaching its peak in May. The estate includes a 19th-century Italianate style house and lodge as well as an intact Pulhamite rockery.

St Giles' Church is a Church of England parish church in the small village of Shermanbury, West Sussex. Placed on the same site as a church recorded in Domesday Book, the present church was largely built in the 13th century but was heavily restored and partially rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries. English Heritage has listed it at Grade II* for its architectural and historical importance. The church historian John E. Vigar described it as "one of our Sussex gems" which he had "no hesitation in recommending...to all". Services for the parish continue and also cover the parishes of St Peter's, Henfield and St. Peter's, Woodmancote, which form its united benefice.

Maplehurst is a hamlet in the civil parish of Nuthurst, and the Horsham District of West Sussex, England. The hamlet is on the Copsale to Nuthurst road, 3.8 miles (6.2 km) south from the town of Horsham. There is one pub, The White Horse, on Park Lane just off Nuthurst Road.

West Grinstead was a railway station on the Steyning Line which served the village of West Grinstead. It had a goods yard with a cattle loading bay and facilities for handling horse boxes. With the hunt kennels and national stud based in the area, the station saw substantial horse traffic.The station closed as a result of the Beeching Axe in 1966 and now forms part of the Downs Link footpath. The main station building and station worker's cottages, although now privately owned, remain, as do the station platforms. The local parish council have erected a replica station sign in the vicinity, and an old railway signal has also been installed. A British Railways Mark 1 coach has also been placed on rails in the former goods yard.

Wineham is a hamlet mainly in the Shermanbury civil parish (and the same ecclesiastical parish) of the Horsham district of West Sussex, England. It is south of the A272 road, and approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) northeast of Henfield. Historically called Wyndham the settlement has one public house, the Royal Oak.At Wyndham, usually called Wineham in the 20th century perhaps by assimilation to neighbouring Twineham, the houses are strung out on both sides of the road but mostly on the west, those on the east being in Twineham parish. Wyndham hospital, founded in the 13th century, may have been near that road 0.25 miles (0.40 km) north of Frylands Lane, where the site was recorded in the 1870s, or the same stretch further north, where hospital field lies behind the Royal Oak; no trace of the building has been found. The hospital had a church and a graveyard, and was presumably the place in Wyndham where an inquisition was held in about 1300.Wyndham Pool, Wineham, is a small house of the late 16th century with a smoke bay into which a chimney was later built.

Nuthurst is a village and civil parish in the Horsham district of West Sussex, England. The north of the parish borders Horsham town, with Nuthurst village 3 miles (5 km) south from the border. Within the parish is the estate and largely 19th-century country house of Sedgwick Park.
