Montfermeil (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃fɛʁmɛj] ) is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 17.2 km (10.7 mi) from the center of Paris. Montfermeil is famous as the location of Thénardiers' inn in Les Misérables. It has made the headlines due to troubles in its social estate called "les Bosquets".

The Parc Arboretum de Montfermeil (10.9 hectares) is a park and arboretum located in Montfermeil, Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France. It is open daily without charge. The park was formed by combining two existing parks, the former parc du Château des Cèdres and parc Jean Valjean, with extensive landscaping during which 731 trees and bushes were planted, adding to those 489 trees already in place. It opened to the public in 2006. The park's major feature is a long, curving dike that separates the site into two distinct sections: a large park in the natural style to the northwest, and a small, geometric space to the east. Each has its own pond on either side of the dike. The park contains 3.3 kilometers of walking and cycling paths. The arboretum proper is planted on a set of 17 cairns throughout the entire park, organized as a "gallery of evolution" which begins at the water, then proceeds as follows: 1 origins (Ginkgo Biloba), 2 living fossils (Cryptomeria japonica, Cunninghamia lanceolata, Metasequoia, Sequoiadendron, Taxodium distichum), 3-6 dinosaurs and gymnosperms, 7-10 the Tertiary era of mammals and angiosperms, 11-17 mankind and landscaping, culminating in the Jardins Chromatiques (garden of colors).

Clichy-sous-Bois (French pronunciation: [kliʃi su bwɑ]) is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from central Paris.Clichy-sous-Bois is not served by any motorway, major road, or railway and therefore remains one of the most isolated of Paris's inner suburbs. It is one of the most economically disadvantaged suburbs and is where the 2005 civil unrest and riots began, which subsequently spread nationwide.

Lycée Alfred Nobel is the senior high school/sixth-form college in Clichy-sous-Bois, Seine-Saint-Denis, France, in the Paris metropolitan area. As of 2018 Nicole Ozeray is the head of the school.It has an agreement with the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po) which allows applicants from the school to gain entrance to the university without taking the entrance examination. As of 2007 three students from the lycée had been admitted.The school also operates a vocational educational programme involving travel to Asia and Africa and transdisciplinary projects in association with Bouygues, IBM, and other major companies.

Chelles–Gournay is a railway station in Chelles, Seine-et-Marne, France. The station opened in 1849 and is on the Paris-Est–Strasbourg-Ville railway. The station is served by Transilien line P (East Paris) and RER Line E services operated by the SNCF. It will also see services operated by Grand Paris Express (Paris Metro Line 16) in the future.

Chelles Abbey (French: Abbaye Notre-Dame-des-Chelles) was a Frankish monastery founded around 657/660 during the early medieval period. It was intended initially as a monastery for women; then its reputation for great learning grew, and when men wanted to follow the monastic life, a parallel male community was established, creating a double monastery.The abbey stood in Chelles near Paris (Seine-et-Marne department) until it fell victim to the disestablishment of the Catholic Church in 1792 during the French Revolution and was dismantled. The abbey housed an important scriptorium and held the advantage of powerful royal connections throughout the Carolingian era.

The Communauté d'agglomération de Marne et Chantereine is a former federation of municipalities (communauté d'agglomération) in the Seine-et-Marne département and in the Île-de-France région of France. It was created in January 2009. It was merged into the Communauté d'agglomération Paris - Vallée de la Marne in January 2016.
