Josina Machel Hospital in Luanda is the oldest and largest state hospital in Angola. It is considered the best health facility in the country and is an important historical monument.

Pavilhão Victorino Cunha, formerly Pavilhão do CODENM a.k.a. Pavilhão do Rio Seco is the Arena of Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto, mainly used for its Men's and Women's basketball teams. The arena is located in the uptown neighborhood of Maianga. On August 1, 2013, on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto, the club honored the mentor of the basketball development in the club, Victorino Cunha, by renaming the main basketball arena as Pavilhão Victorino Cunha.

The National Assembly (Portuguese: Assembleia Nacional) is the legislative branch of the government of Angola. Angola is a unicameral country so the National Assembly is the only legislative chamber at the national level. The People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) has held a majority in the Assembly since Angolan independence in 1975. Multi-party elections were delayed under Jose Eduardo dos Santos quasi dictatorial rule for decades until the Angolan general election, 1992. The first Angolan legislative election was in September 2008. After a new constitution was adopted in 2010, the first election under this new constitution was held in 2012, increasing considerably the power of the President, and diminishing that of the National Assembly as well as that of the judiciary.

Ingombota is one of the six urban districts that make up the municipality of Luanda, in the province of Luanda, the capital city of Angola. Ingombota is home to the central business district of Luanda, Angola. The economic, political and symbolic center of the city and the nation, it is Luanda's oldest district. The district is home to most of Luanda's prominent hotels and office towers.

Maianga is one of the six municipalities of the administrative division of the province of Luanda, Angola. In 2011, as part of a restructuring of Luanda's regional government, the municipality was designated as one of Luanda's six urban districts. The area is one of the older quarters of Luanda and was established before independence. The area is best known for Quatro de Fevereiro Airport and its strong musical culture.

Estádio dos Coqueiros is a multi-use stadium in Luanda, Angola. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Benfica de Luanda and Kabuscorp. The stadium holds 12,000 people and was built during the colonial period, in 1947. It underwent major renovation works in 2005.

The Museu Nacional de Antropologia (National Museum of Anthropology) is an anthropological museum in the Ingombota District of the city of Luanda, Angola. Founded on 13 November 1976, it is a cultural and scientific institution, dedicated to the collection, research, conservation, presentation and dissemination of the Angolan cultural heritage.

The Church of Our Lady of Remedies (Portuguese: Igreja de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Luanda, Angola. It was built in 1628 and is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Luanda. In 1716 the headquarters of the Diocese of Angola and Congo was transferred from São Salvador of Congo to Luanda, which eventually led the church of Dos Remedios to become cathedral. In 1877 it was in ruins and restored between 1880 and 1900. At that time acquired the present appearance, as three doors and a curved pediment on the façade. In 1949 it was declared a Public Interest, when it was still part of the Portuguese colonial empire.

Fortaleza de São Miguel or Saint Michael Fortress was a Portuguese fortress built in 1576 in the Ingombota District of Luanda, Angola. During Dutch rule in Angola between 1641 and 1648, the fort was known as Fort Aardenburgh.

Igreja e Convento de Nossa Senhora do Carmo (Church and Convent of Our Lady of Mount Carmel), also Igreja do Carmo or Carmo's Church, is a church and convent complex in Luanda, Angola. Thanks to its good condition, the church is considered to be one of the country's most important religious monuments. Under the patronage of Queen Luisa de Guzmán, the church was completed in 1689. It was built by the Carmelites who arrived in Luanda in 1659. The simple structure has a plain facade surmounted by a triangular gable. The building had seriously decayed by 1828 but was restored by Dominican priests. The interior is decorated with carved altars, gilded sculptures, frescos and Lisbon tilework.

Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição was a church in Luanda, Angola. Founded in 1583, it was the first Parish Church of Luanda, and was originally made from wooden pillars, plaster and mud, with a thatched roof. In 1653, work began on building a stronger church and it became the cathedral of the city until 1818, when it was replaced with Nossa Senhora do Carmo By the beginning of 1818, only the tower remained of the former church; the site was transformed in 1881 into the .

The Museum of the Armed Forces (Portuguese: Museu das Forças Armadas) is located in Fortaleza de São Miguel de Luanda, in the Ingombota District of Luanda, Angola. Founded in 1975, following the independence of Angola, the museum includes bi-motor airplanes, combat vehicles, and diverse arms and artifacts used during the Angolan War of Independence (1961–1974), the South African Border War (1966-1991), and the Angolan Civil War (1975–2002). The museum also contains statuary which ornamented the avenues and plazas of colonial Luanda, which were removed after independence. These include the statue of Diogo Cão, the first European to set foot in Angola, of Paulo Dias de Novais, founder of the city of São Paulo da Assunção de Luanda, of Vasco da Gama, and of famous Portuguese poet Luís de Camões, among others. The museum grounds and outdoor exhibits, long in a delipidated state, underwent an extensive restoration project at some point between 1997 and 2013.
