ABC Radio Hobart (call sign: 7ZR) is the ABC Local Radio station for Hobart, Tasmania, owned by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

South Arm Peninsula is a peninsula that lies on the east side of the mouth of the River Derwent south of Hobart in Tasmania, Australia. The peninsula commences at Lauderdale and curves landward or inward on a narrow isthmus that has South Arm situated on the east side of the Derwent, across from Blackmans Bay on the west side. Opossum Bay is the northernmost populated place on the northward curve. Ralphs Bay lies in the area defined by the peninsula to the west, while Storm Bay lies to the south of the peninsula, Frederick Henry Bay to the east side that separates from the Tasman Peninsula. The peninsular is located in the City of Clarence. There are a number of organisations that use the name of the peninsula.

Lauderdale Oval or Lauderdale Sports Ground is a suburban Australian rules football and cricket ground situated in the beach-side Hobart suburb of Lauderdale, Tasmania, Australia. It is home of the Lauderdale Football Club in the Tasmanian State League and has been used by the Lauderdale Football Club since 1948 in both amateur and country football. In 1998, Lauderdale Oval underwent upgrades for increased lighting, enabling the ground to be used for night football in the Southern Football League.

Lauderdale is a town on the outskirts of Hobart, capital of Tasmania, Australia. The population of Lauderdale is approximately 2,592 (2021 census). It is in the local government area of City of Clarence. The town is situated on the eastern side of a thin isthmus that connects the South Arm Peninsula to the mainland. It faces Ralphs Bay, and the majority of Lauderdale's population live along Roches Beach, which faces Frederick Henry Bay. Along with nearby Seven Mile Beach, it is a popular residential area for people working in the Hobart CBD. Lauderdale/Roches Beach is overlooked by Single Hill, which is just to the North. Beyond Single Hill is the town of Seven Mile Beach. The view from Single Hill gives a clear view of the town of Lauderdale. The view also shows the nearby ABC radio transmitter mast. The Ralphs Bay side of Lauderdale reveals a sharp gradient in the bay where the water changes colour. This change can be especially noticeable when driving along the main road from Hobart. Walker Corporation had plans to build a large residential 'canal estate' in Ralphs Bay in front of Lauderdale. There were many protests against the development on ecological grounds; the development would be over sensitive mud flats and affect the habitat of migratory birds and the endangered spotted handfish. Former State Premier Paul Lennon was very much in favour of the development whilst acting as premier. He has close relations with Walker Corp. In June 2010, Ralphs Bay was saved when the Tasmanian Planning Commission rejected the proposed 'Lauderdale Quay' canal housing development. However the Legislative Council of the Tasmanian Parliament debated the Canal Estates (Prohibition) Bill 2011 on 7 July 2012 and voted against this legislation. So while the Ralphs Bay development will not go ahead the way is still open to other developments.

Roches Beach is a rural residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Clarence in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 19 kilometres (12 mi) east of the town of Rosny Park. The 2021 Census recorded a population of 220 for the state suburb of Roches Beach. It is a suburb of Hobart, between Lauderdale and Acton Park.

Oakdowns is a suburb of Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, Australia. It is within the City of Clarence and not far from Clarendon Vale. At the 2016 Australian Census Oakdowns recorded a population of 1468. Oakdowns has one park. It is a 20-minute drive to the CBD. Most houses have views of Mount wellington and Ralphs bay.

Bayview Secondary College, formerly known as Rokeby High School, is a government comprehensive secondary school located in Rokeby, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 1980, the school caters for approximately 300 students from Years 7 to 12. The school is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education. It received its current name in 2016.In 2019 student enrolments were 293. The college principal is Gill Berriman.

Clarendon Vale is a rural residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Clarence in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south-east of the town of Rosny Park. The 2016 census recorded a population of 1267 for the state suburb of Clarendon Vale. It is a suburb of Hobart.

Ralphs Bay is a body of water in south-east Tasmania, Australia. It is semi-enclosed by the Tranmere / Rokeby peninsula and the South Arm peninsula. Sea access to the bay is from the River Derwent. Ralphs Bay is a shallow, windy bay, situated on the south-east of the Derwent Estuary, about 12 kilometres from the south-east of Hobart in Tasmania, Australia. The bay is sheltered by the low, grassy hills of Droughty Point to the north-west and the spit of South Arm and Opossum Bay to the south-west.

The South Arm Important Bird Area is a disjunct tract of mainly intertidal land on the eastern outskirts of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

The South-east Tasmania Important Bird Area encompasses much of the land retaining forest and woodland habitats, suitable for breeding swift parrots and forty-spotted pardalotes, from Orford to Recherche Bay in south-eastern Tasmania, Australia.

Acton Park is a residential / rural locality in the local government area (LGA) of Clarence in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) east of the town of Rosny Park. The 2021 census recorded a population of 2293 for Acton Park.It is a rural suburb of Hobart. In 2011 there were 2165 people living in Acton Park, ten of which being Indigenous. 51.2% were male and 48.8% were female.Acton Park is bounded to the east by the southern portion of the Meehan Range, to the south by Ralphs Bay, and to the east by Roches Beach, Single Hill and Seven Mile Beach. It is one of the more sought after living locations due to its easy commuting distance to Hobart, and because of the semi-rural character of the suburb itself.
