Bayview Secondary College, formerly known as Rokeby High School, is a government comprehensive secondary school located in Rokeby, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 1980, the school caters for approximately 300 students from Years 7 to 12. The school is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education. It received its current name in 2016.In 2019 student enrolments were 293. The college principal is Gill Berriman.

Lauderdale Oval or Lauderdale Sports Ground is a suburban Australian rules football and cricket ground situated in the beach-side Hobart suburb of Lauderdale, Tasmania, Australia. It is home of the Lauderdale Football Club in the Tasmanian State League and has been used by the Lauderdale Football Club since 1948 in both amateur and country football. In 1998, Lauderdale Oval underwent upgrades for increased lighting, enabling the ground to be used for night football in the Southern Football League.

Acton Park is a residential / rural locality in the local government area (LGA) of Clarence in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) east of the town of Rosny Park. The 2021 census recorded a population of 2293 for Acton Park.It is a rural suburb of Hobart. In 2011 there were 2165 people living in Acton Park, ten of which being Indigenous. 51.2% were male and 48.8% were female.Acton Park is bounded to the east by the southern portion of the Meehan Range, to the south by Ralphs Bay, and to the east by Roches Beach, Single Hill and Seven Mile Beach. It is one of the more sought after living locations due to its easy commuting distance to Hobart, and because of the semi-rural character of the suburb itself.

Lauderdale is a town on the outskirts of Hobart, capital of Tasmania, Australia. The population of Lauderdale is approximately 2,592 (2021 census). It is in the local government area of City of Clarence. The town is situated on the eastern side of a thin isthmus that connects the South Arm Peninsula to the mainland. It faces Ralphs Bay, and the majority of Lauderdale's population live along Roches Beach, which faces Frederick Henry Bay. Along with nearby Seven Mile Beach, it is a popular residential area for people working in the Hobart CBD. Lauderdale/Roches Beach is overlooked by Single Hill, which is just to the North. Beyond Single Hill is the town of Seven Mile Beach. The view from Single Hill gives a clear view of the town of Lauderdale. The view also shows the nearby ABC radio transmitter mast. The Ralphs Bay side of Lauderdale reveals a sharp gradient in the bay where the water changes colour. This change can be especially noticeable when driving along the main road from Hobart. Walker Corporation had plans to build a large residential 'canal estate' in Ralphs Bay in front of Lauderdale. There were many protests against the development on ecological grounds; the development would be over sensitive mud flats and affect the habitat of migratory birds and the endangered spotted handfish. Former State Premier Paul Lennon was very much in favour of the development whilst acting as premier. He has close relations with Walker Corp. In June 2010, Ralphs Bay was saved when the Tasmanian Planning Commission rejected the proposed 'Lauderdale Quay' canal housing development. However the Legislative Council of the Tasmanian Parliament debated the Canal Estates (Prohibition) Bill 2011 on 7 July 2012 and voted against this legislation. So while the Ralphs Bay development will not go ahead the way is still open to other developments.

The 2016 census has a population of 267 for the state suburb of Mount Rumney. It is a suburb of Hobart. The suburb is based on the slopes of the mountain, Mount Rumney, part of the Meehan Range.

Roches Beach is a rural residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Clarence in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 19 kilometres (12 mi) east of the town of Rosny Park. The 2021 Census recorded a population of 220 for the state suburb of Roches Beach. It is a suburb of Hobart, between Lauderdale and Acton Park.

Tranmere is a rural residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Clarence in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) south-east of the town of Rosny Park. The 2016 census recorded a population of 1701 for the state suburb of Tranmere. It is a suburb of greater Hobart. It is accessed from, and shares a border with Howrah, which lies to its north. Rokeby lies to its east. Tranmere is a riverside suburb, with views across the Derwent River to the Hobart city centre.

Sandford is a residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Clarence in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) south-east of the town of Rosny Park. The 2016 census recorded a population of 1883 for the state suburb of Sandford. It is a town located on the South Arm Peninsula on the outskirts of Hobart. Sandford is also home to the Sandford Rifle Club which is located in Rifle Range Road. It is far enough from the Tasmanian capital of Hobart to consist largely of bushland, but near enough to be within commuting distance. Most of the inhabitants of Sandford live on a large acreage, either used for farming or recreational purposes.
