Long Street Methodist Church

Ye Olde Boar's Head (also known as The Olde Boar's Head) is a historic public house on Long Street in Middleton, a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. It is designated as a Grade II* listed building and has origins dating to 1622. The building is an outstanding example of early timber-framed architecture and forms part of Middleton's "Golden Cluster" of heritage sites.

St Leonard's is a Church of England parish church in Middleton, Greater Manchester, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade I listed building.Much of the present building was erected in 1412 by Thomas Langley (born in Middleton in 1363) who was Bishop of Durham and Lord Chancellor of England. He re-used the Norman doorway from an earlier structure to create the tower arch. Also distinctive in this region is the weather-boarded top stage to the tower. The church of St Leonard was enlarged in 1524 by Sir Richard Assheton, in celebration of the knighthood granted to him by Henry VIII of England for his part in the Battle of Flodden in 1513. The Flodden Window, in the sanctuary, is thought to be the oldest war memorial in the UK. It commemorates on it the names of the Middleton archers who fought at Flodden. The church also has one of the finest collections of monumental brasses in the north of England, including the only brass in the UK depicting an English Civil War officer in full armour, Major-General Ralph Assheton. George Pace designed a war memorial and, in 1958, added a choir vestry and installed new lighting.In the extension of the churchyard are the war graves of two First World War soldiers, and an airman from the Second World War.

Middleton bus station is a bus station located in the town of Middleton in Greater Manchester. The bus station is found next to the Middleton Shopping Centre on the site of the old bus station. The new bus station was opened on 31 July 2005 and is run by TfGM.There are thirteen stands in the bus station, A to N, with some of the stands operating a drive-in/reverse out system with the others operating a drive-through system. There are two entrances into the bus station, one from Park Road/Manchester New Road junction, and the other from Middleton Way from a dedicated bus lane. There is only one exit from the bus station, onto Middleton Way, with priority signals being used to allow buses to rejoin the main carriageway.

The Former Queen Elizabeth Old Grammar School and its adjoining schoolmaster's house are Grade II* listed buildings dating from the late 16th and early 19th centuries, on Boarshaw Road in Middleton, a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. Historically part of Lancashire, these buildings are significant examples of Tudor educational and architectural heritage in North West England and form part of Middleton's "Golden Cluster" of heritage sites. The original grammar school building, sold in 1909 after its closure, was later repurposed for community use. Following restoration in 1997 and an acquisition by Rochdale Council in 2024 to protect its heritage, it now functions as a heritage and events venue.

Middleton Railway station served the town of Middleton. The station opened on 5 January 1857 when the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway (L&YR) opened a branch line to serve the town from Middleton Junction.The station was located to the south east of the junction of Oldham Road (now the A669) and Townley Street.Originally the station had a single platform. It was rebuilt with two platforms in 1885-1886. There were goods lines on both sides of the main running lines and a goods shed to the south. The goods yard was able to accommodate most types of goods including live stock and was equipped with a five ton crane.A Cotton shed (described on the map as a goods shed) opened about 1907, it had a rail link into Neva Cotton Mills.The station closed to passengers on 7 September 1964 and completely on 11 October 1965 when the branch also closed.

Langley is an suburb near Middleton, Greater Manchester, England, 4.4 miles (7.1 km) southwest of Rochdale and 5.5 miles (8.9 km) northeast of Manchester city centre. Langley is an overspill estate, created in the 1950s for Manchester City Council. Families moved into the new housing from the slum clearance areas of Manchester, the eventual population of about 25,000 doubling that of Middleton.All the street names are adopted from different areas of the Lake District. In 1990, Langley estate was the focus of a satanic panic and in 2006 twelve of the now-adult victims sued Rochdale Council for compensation. The Ken Loach film Raining Stones was filmed in and around Langley in 1993.

Middleton had a population of 42,972 at the 2011 Census. It lies on the northern edge of Manchester, with Blackley to the south and Moston to the south east.

Tonge is a residential and industrial area of Middleton in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale, Greater Manchester. It lies on the east side of Middleton between the town centre and its border with Chadderton in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham. Tonge was formerly a township in its own right, until the area was incorporated into the Municipal Borough of Middleton as part of local government reforms in the late 19th century. Its area includes localities such as Moorclose and part of the districts of Mills Hill and Middleton Junction. Tonge Hall was the manor house for the township. The place-name of Tonge, although no longer widely used in the area, stills survives in the district in the names of several streets and a long standing sports club, Tonge Social & Bowling club, established in 1923.Mills Hill railway station is located in this district. Middleton Technology School lies within this district.
