St Dominic's Church, formerly St Dominic's Priory Church, is a Roman Catholic Parish church in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. It was built from 1869 and opened in 1873. It was founded by the Dominican Order. It is located on New Bridge Street, east of Manors railway station, in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle. It was designed by Archibald Matthias Dunn and is a Grade II listed building.

The Biscuit Factory is a Contemporary art gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Gallery opened in 2002 after undergoing major renovation work. It is the largest commercial art, craft & design gallery in the UK.The gallery's home is a former Victorian warehouse, constructed in 1870. Prior to 2002 the Building was used in the manufacturing of biscuits (hence the name The biscuit factory), changing its name over the years from The Tyne Biscuit Factory to the name Newcastle upon Tyne Biscuit Manufacturers.

The Gateshead Millennium Bridge is a pedestrian and cyclist tilt bridge spanning the River Tyne between Gateshead arts quarter on the south bank and Newcastle upon Tyne's Quayside area on the north bank. It was the first tilting bridge ever to be constructed. Opened for public use in 2001, the award-winning structure was conceived and designed by architectural practice WilkinsonEyre and structural engineering firm Gifford. The bridge is sometimes called the 'Blinking Eye Bridge' or the 'Winking Eye Bridge' due to its shape and its tilting method. The Millennium Bridge stands as the twentieth tallest structure in the city, and is shorter in stature than the neighbouring Tyne Bridge.

Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art (also known simply as (the) Baltic, stylised as BALTIC) is a centre for contemporary art located on the south bank of the River Tyne in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England. It hosts a frequently changing variety of exhibitions, events, and educational programmes with no permanent exhibition. The idea to open a centre for contemporary arts in Gateshead was developed in the 1990s, which was a time of regeneration for the local area—the Sage and Gateshead Millennium Bridge was also being conceived of in this period. Baltic opened in July 2002 in a converted flour mill, which had operated in various capacities from 1950-1984. The architectural design of Baltic was devised by Dominic Williams of Ellis Williams Architects, who won a competition to design the new contemporary arts centre in 1994. The building features exhibition spaces, a visitor centre, a rooftop restaurant and external viewing platforms which offer views of the River Tyne. Baltic's current director, the centre's fifth, is Sarah Munro, who joined in November 2015. As of January 2022, Baltic had welcomed over 8 million visitors.

Austin Friars, Newcastle-upon-Tyne was an Augustinian friary in Tyne and Wear, England. The friary is believed to have been founded by William Lord Ros, Baron of Wark on Tweed, about the year 1290, at a site in Cowgate. Around 1540, the friary was closed as part of the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII, and in 1551, the land was granted to John Dudley, 1st Duke of Northumberland.By 1648, the land had passed to the city council, and a series of institutions built on the site, including hospitals, prisons and guild houses. In 1681 the Holy Jesus Hospital was built partly on the site. In the 1820s, the site was occupied by the Newcastle Gas Company, local hospitals, and the Barber Surgeon's Company, who had leased part of the land since 1648.

The Byker Viaduct (also known as the Byker Metro Bridge) is a 2,674 ft (815 m) curved 'S' shaped light railway bridge, which carries the Tyne and Wear Metro over the River Ouseburn in Newcastle upon Tyne. It carries the line from Manors Metro station in the city centre to the west, to Byker Metro station in the area of Byker to the east, over the lower Ouseburn valley, with the river emptying into the north side of the River Tyne, to the south. Designed by Ove Arup and Partners, and built by Mowlem, construction began in 1976 and was completed in 1979, it was opened on 11 November 1982 as part of the St James to Tynemouth section of the Metro. It is 27 ft (8.2 m) wide, and carries standard gauge double tracks up to 30m above the ground, with 18 spans up to 226 ft (69 m) long; six of the spans are over the river valley, with the remainder continuing on the east side of the valley as a lower elevated section. It was notable, in being the first such structure in Britain to be built using cantilevered concrete sections with joints glued with epoxy resin.It was one of two major bridges built specifically for the Tyne and Wear Metro, the other being the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge crossing the River Tyne.It is one of three high level bridges in close proximity making the same crossing, with the Ouseburn railway viaduct to the north and the Byker road bridge to the south. The bridge and elevated section form an S-curve, which takes the track over the Byker road bridge at its east end.

Ouseburn Viaduct carries the East Coast Main Line over the Ouseburn Valley through the East End of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Designed by architects John and Benjamin Green, it was originally built in the late 1830s for the Newcastle and North Shields Railway. It is a Grade II* listed building.The viaduct is 918 ft (280 m) long and 108 ft (33 m) high with five arches (plus two approach arches) each of 116 ft (35 m) span. When originally built the viaducts were made of laminated timber construction on the Wiebeking system, whereby each arch was made from multiple layers of timbers held together by trenails and supported on stone pillars. The viaduct was rebuilt in iron between 1867 and 1869 by the Weardale Iron & Coal Company to the designs of engineer Thomas Elliot Harrison for the North Eastern Railway Company, doubling its width to accommodate four tracks but preserving the bridge's original appearance. It now carries the East Coast Main Line.It is one of three high level bridges in close proximity making the same crossing, with the Byker Viaduct carrying the Tyne and Wear Metro and then the Byker road bridge both to the south.

Newcastle Business School is a business school in the north of England; based at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. It is part of the Faculty of Business and Law at Northumbria University. The business school offers undergraduate education in Business, Management, Leadership and the MBA qualification. The Byker Bridge is a 1,130.7 ft (344.65 m) long road bridge that carries the A193 road over the River Ouseburn in Newcastle upon Tyne. It carries traffic from the city centre and Central Motorway in the west, to the area of Byker to the east, over the lower Ouseburn valley, with the river emptying into the north side of the River Tyne, to the south. The Bridge was opened to pedestrians on 19 October 1878, and then to carts and carriages on 27 January 1879. There was originally a half penny toll, which was withdrawn on 12 April 1895. Originally 30.0 ft (9.15 m) wide, the bridge was widened to 50.0 ft (15.25 m) in 1899, by the addition of footpaths cantilevered out from the edge of the brickwork. The deck of the bridge was rebuilt during 1985/6 with the addition of pre-stressed concrete beams on cantilevers to support both footways and new crash barriers.It is one of three high level bridges in close proximity making the same crossing, with the Byker Metro Bridge and then the Ouseburn railway viaduct both to the north (the S shaped Metro bridge crosses over the road bridge at its eastern end).

HMS Calliope is a training centre and 'stone frigate' of the Royal Naval Reserve, located in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.

South Shore Road power station was a coal-fired power station situated on the River Tyne at Gateshead, North East England. The station was built by the Durham Electrical Power Distribution Company in the early twentieth century. Ownership of the station was handed over to the Newcastle upon Tyne Electric Supply Company in June 1932 when they bought the Durham company. During the Second World War a warden post was situated at the power station. The site of the power station, near the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, has since been cleared, and an office development is being constructed on it.

Pandon Dene Power Station was an early coal-fired power station situated on the Pandon Dene, to the east of Newcastle upon Tyne.
