Placentia Library District

Placentia is a proposed Metrolink infill station located in the city of the same name along Metrolink's 91/Perris Valley Line. The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) started discussing the station as early as 2012. A station planned for neighboring Yorba Linda was rejected by its local city council on March 16, 2004. The project was approved by the city in 2016, with construction planned to begin in 2018. A former packing house was demolished on the site to make way for the station. As of April 2019 construction was repeatedly delayed, owing to negotiations between Metrolink and the track's owners, BNSF. In January 2020, it was announced that construction of the Placentia Metrolink station would begin later in the year, with the station expected to be open by June 2022, but it has once again been delayed, with OCTA claiming construction of the project is "on hold" until mid-2024.The cost of the project is due at $34.8 million, of which the city pledged $5.4 million. In 2014, the project was pegged at an estimated $23.42 million, while a 2012 estimate was between $7.5–9 million.

Placentia () is a city in northern Orange County, California, United States. Its population was 51,233 during the 2020 census, up from 46,488 in the 2000 census. This includes the community of Atwood, which is included in the city of Placentia, and is located in its southeastern quadrant. Primarily referred to as a bedroom community, Placentia is known for its quiet neighborhoods. In 1971, Placentia was honored with the prestigious "All America City" award, given out annually by the National Civic League to 10 cities in the United States.

Bahnsen Theological Seminary was a Calvinist theological training institution, founded in 1997 and based in Placentia, California. It was most notably associated with Greg Bahnsen and Kenneth Gentry. It served as the degree granting division of the Southern California Center for Christian Studies. It offered instruction worldwide by correspondence, as well as courses presented locally. BTS offered four master's degree programs; Master of Divinity, Master of Christian Studies, Master of Apologetics, and Master of Philosophy. Faculty included:Kenneth Gentry Jr. ThD, ordained minister in the PCA Roger Wagner, ordained minister and pastor of Bayview Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Chula Vista, CA. Michael Butler, graduated magna cum laude from CSUF with a B.A. in philosophy and history, and a M.A. in philosophy from Claremont Graduate School. Jerry Crick, ordained as a minister in the Presbyterian Church of America and now serves as pastor of Scottish Presbyterian Kirk of the Covenant in Simpsonville, SC. Michael Mang, ordained minister in the P.C.A. and pastor of Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Greer, SC. Jeffrey Ventrella, ordained Ruling Elder in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and regularly preaches and lectures in churches and mission works throughout the Pacific Northwest. George Scipione, minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

The A. S. Bradford House, also known as The Bradford House, is a historic home in Placentia, California. It was the home of Albert Sumner Bradford, who founded Placentia by arranging for establishment of a water tank along the railway. Homes and businesses within a one-mile radius could get water. Designed by James Stafford, the Colonial Revival, 15-room house was built in 1902, in an orange grove.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and operated as a house museum at one point. Albert Sumner Bradford (August 18, 1860—March 30, 1933), originally from Shapleigh, Maine, bought 20 acres land in 1890 in what would become his Tesoro Ranch Placentia. He did much to support growth of the citrus industry.

La Jolla is a small neighborhood in Placentia, California, in northern Orange County. Traditionally La Jolla has largely been made up of Hispanics, but does have Caucasian and a small portion of other races. This small neighborhood was once known as La Jolla Colony, Placentia and was not considered part of unincorporated Anaheim. Today, like the nearby community of Atwood, La Jolla is part of the City of Placentia. Since its construction, La Jolla has been bisected by the 57 Freeway, but connected by a traffic and pedestrian bridge over the freeway. La Jolla was severely damaged in the Orange County flood of 1938 which destroyed almost every structure in the area with the exception of McFadden School, a small church, and about 7 blocks of homes. La Jolla is primarily a residential area made up of older single-family homes and several apartment complexes. La Jolla does not have many businesses except for a couple of small independent neighborhood markets. The three main stores in the area are the Urdiano's Market on West La Jolla Street, Gonzales Market on the east side of the 57 freeway, and Pee Wee's Market on the west side. The Gonzales Market is believed to have been constructed shortly after the Orange County flood of 1936. Pee Wee's Market was opened around 1960 by the Magaña family, long-time residents of Placentia. The corner of La Jolla Street and Melrose at the east end of the La Jolla Neighborhood was once the site of McFadden Elementary School. The School was torn down in the early 1980s, but recently a new school was built. The new school is known as Melrose Elementary School and the attached park is still known as McFadden Park. Brent Liles, former bassist for Social Distortion, died on January 18, 2007, in La Jolla. He was struck by a truck as he rode his bicycle across a street.

El Dorado High School is a 9th–12th grade public high school located in Placentia, California. Established in 1966, El Dorado is one of four high schools in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District, and serves the northern parts of Placentia, and Yorba Linda far eastern Fullerton, (east of the 57 freeway), and a small portion of Brea. The EDHS campus is located at 1651 Valencia Avenue, approximately 29 miles from downtown Los Angeles and 18 miles from the California coastline. The school currently has an enrollment of over 2,400 students. The school's first graduating class was the class of 1969. The campus received a major renovation in 2002. The EDHS gymnasium is dedicated to Joe Raya, a former Athletics department staff member. The theatre is dedicated to Mrs. Gai Jones, who directed the theatre department from 1967 to 2002. In 2004, Athletic director Sally Reclusado was selected as the CIF Southern Section Athletic Director of the Year. Librarian Linda Birtler was awarded the Orange County Department of Education's Outstanding Contribution to Education Award. El Dorado has also won the prestigious Blue Ribbon Award.The school is home to the El Dorado Golden Hawks Marching Band; the band's past achievements include a performance in the Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony, the Tournament of Roses Parade and top honors in two trips to the Hawaii International Competition.

AAA Electra 99 was an art museum, gallery and performance space located in Anaheim, Orange County, California. It was Orange County's only co-op art gallery/museum. The gallery closed in 2012.AAA Electra 99's mission was to display any type of art without the hassles of having to sell, someone dictating what to display or what not to display, or artists getting ripped off and to act as a permanent venue for artists of all kinds to express themselves in a community setting. A second branch of AAA Electra 99 opened in Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 7, 2010. It is a part of the Emergency Arts Collective at the Fabulous Fremont Experience directly in front of The El Cortez.

Placentia-Linda Hospital is a for-profit hospital in Placentia, California that serves Northern Orange County. Founded in 1972, it has 114 beds and focuses on acute care.

Hope International University is a private Christian university in Fullerton, California. It enrolls around 1,140 students. While Hope is non-denominational, it has strong ties to the Restoration Movement and the Christian churches and churches of Christ. Hope is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Hope International University's Fullerton campus sits adjacent to California State University, Fullerton, with which it has contract programs. Enrollment stands at just under 1,200 students.

California State University, Fullerton (CSUF or Cal State Fullerton) is a public university in Fullerton, California. With a total enrollment of more than 41,000, it has the largest student body of the California State University (CSU) system, and its graduate student body of more than 5,000 is one of the largest in the CSU and in all of California. As of fall 2016, the school had 2,083 faculty, of whom 782 were on the tenure track. They compete in the Big West Conference.

The California State University, Fullerton, massacre was an incident of mass murder committed by a custodian, Edward Charles Allaway (born 1939), on July 12, 1976, at California State University, Fullerton, in Fullerton, California, United States. It was the worst mass murder in Orange County until the 2011 Seal Beach shooting, in which eight people died.Allaway had a history of violence and mental illness. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and found insane by a judge after being convicted by a jury. He was initially imprisoned at Patton State Hospital under medical treatment. In 2016 he was transferred to Napa State Hospital.

The George Key Ranch Historic District, also known simply as Key Ranch, is a historic ranch and Victorian ranch house located in Placentia, Orange County, CaliforniaTwo acres of the former ranch is now the George Key Ranch Historic Park operated by Orange County Parks. It includes the historic house museum, a collection of farm equipment and hand tools, a one-acre orange grove, and 3/4-acre verse garden.The George Key Ranch Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
