Sint-Amands (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌsɪnt ɑˈmɑnts]) is a town and a former municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp, Belgium. The municipality comprises the towns of Lippelo, Oppuurs and Sint-Amands proper. In 2021, Sint-Amands had a total population of 8,524. The total area is 15.58 km². Sint-Amands is located at the right bank of the Scheldt river. Effective 1 January 2019, Puurs and Sint-Amands were merged into the new municipality of Puurs-Sint-Amands.

The Lippenbroek is a former polder in the Belgian freshwater part of the Schelde-estuary, currently functioning as a pilot project for the restoration of intertidal habitat in a densely populated estuary. The area of 10 ha, situated on the territory of the Belgian community of Hamme, started functioning as a flood control area (FCA) in March 2006. Through a construction of sluices, the area is in close contact with the river Schelde: water is flowing in at high tide, and out at low tide. The sluices are designed to obtain a water regime in the area, comparable to the one in natural mudflats and (freshwater) tidal marshes along the Schelde. In this way, the Lippenbroek combines a safety function (protection against extreme spring tide) with a nature development function. In the framework of the Belgian Sigmaplan, aimed at protecting the whole river basin against floods, more areas along the Schelde will be designed similarly. The area has also been seen as a model for flood prevention internationally. The controlled reduced tide procedure has made the area an improved habitat for eels.

Briel or Den Briel is a parish in the Denderstreek in East Flanders, Belgium. A part of the parish is located in the municipality of Buggenhout, the other part is located in the sub-municipality Baasrode in the city Dendermonde.

The Dendermonde–Puurs Steam Railway (Stoomtrein Dendermonde-Puurs) is a heritage railway situated in the Belgian provinces of East Flanders (Oost-Vlaanderen) and Antwerp (Antwerpen). It runs from the town of Dendermonde to the town of Puurs over about 14 km of 1,435 mm (4 ft 8+1⁄2 in) (standard gauge) track. The railway is maintained by SDP, a non-profit historical railway society. SDP, which stands for Stoomtrein Dendermonde Puurs, or Steam train Dendermonde Puurs , has a depot at the railway station in Baasrode-Noord. The trains are pulled by both steam and diesel locomotives. The railway has been used occasionally by various film and television production companies to shoot movie scenes that are too elaborate to be filmed on the Belgian national railway network because of the potential disruption to traffic. The best known example of a movie that includes several scenes shot on the railway is Toto le Héros.

Voorderweert is a hamlet in Belgium in the province of Antwerp. Some towns that are near Voorderweert are Sas, Molenhoek, and Brans. An airport close to Voorderweert is Zoersel.

Weert is a village in the municipality of Bornem, Antwerp Province, Belgium. The village used to located on the left bank of the Scheldt, but the river changed course during the 13th century, and it is now located on the right bank. The village was first mentioned in 1240 when it was sold to the Saint Bavo's Abbey in Ghent for cultivation. Around 1320, the area was enclosed by dikes. Weert was an independent municipality until 1977, when it was merged into Bornem.

Moerzeke is a village located at the river Scheldt in the municipality Hamme, Belgium.

The Durme is a 23.8 km river in Belgium. The left tributary of the Scheldt, it is created by the confluence of the Zuidlede and the Moervaart near Daknam, Lokeren. It passes through Lokeren, Waasmunster and borders Zele, it merges in the Scheldt at Tielrode (Temse), where it forms the border between Hamme and Temse.

Bornem Abbey is the only Cistercian abbey of Common Observance in the Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels. The current abbey is the successor of the former St. Bernard's Abbey, Hemiksem, destroyed in the French Revolution. Both are built in honour of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux.

Opdorp is one of the three towns making up the municipality of Buggenhout in East Flanders, Belgium. Sometimes it's classified in the Denderstreek. Opdorp is at the geographical centre of Flanders, Belgium. It is also the point at which three provinces meet: Brabant, Antwerp, and East Flanders.Opdorp developed around a triangular dries (village square). The dries contains a chapel and the village pump. The town hall, school and former monastery were built around the square.

Bornem Castle, also known as the Marnix de Sainte-Aldegonde Castle (Dutch: Kasteel van Bornem, or Kasteel Marnix de Sainte-Aldegonde), is a country house, formerly a castle, located in Bornem, province of Antwerp, Belgium. Bornem Castle is situated at an elevation of 1 meters.

A collision between an SNCB train and a minibus from 't Ros Beiaard occurred in Buggenhout, Belgium, at a level crossing on 26 May 2026. The bus was carrying nine individuals: the driver, a school escort, and seven students. The bus was driving to Richtpunt Campus in Buggenhout. The collision resulted in the deaths of four individuals and seriously injured five individuals on the minibus. The driver, age 49, and the escort, aged 27, were killed as well as two of the students (aged 12 and 15). The five other students were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The barriers at the level crossing were lowered, and the red light was on at the time of the collision. The train was in the process of slowing down to stop at Buggenhout station, the driver of the train applied the emergency brake in anticipation of the collision. However, the train was still going approximately 90 kilometres per hour (56 mph) at the point of collision.
