Sicklinghall is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England that is situated between the town of Wetherby (3 miles (5 km) to the east) and the village of Kirkby Overblow. In 2007 the population was recorded as 300, increasing to 336 at the 2011 Census.The village is surrounded by granges; on the eastern side lie Skerry Grange and Sicklinghall Grange and on the western Addlethorpe Grange. Sicklinghall Grange is set in a 107-acre (0.43 km2) estate, it is the UK residence of racehorse owner, Sir Robert Ogden. However the 'big house' is Stockeld Park, a Grade I-listed palladian villa that sits at the heart of a 2,000-acre estate and is home to the Grant family.

Stockeld Park is a Grade-I listed country house and estate situated between the towns of Wetherby and Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, which is now the home of Peter (a great-grandchild of Robert John Foster) and Susie Grant. The estate spans some 2,000 acres and broadly covers the area between Wetherby and the villages of Spofforth and Sicklinghall. In addition to traditional activities including farming and properties, Stockeld Park is also home to Yorkshire's largest Christmas tree plantation, with some 500,000 Christmas trees in the ground. It is perhaps best known for its Adventure Park, a seasonal attraction with a range of indoor and outdoor activities that vary by season. In winter for example there is: ice skating, cross-country skiing, an Enchanted Forest, Santa's Grotto and a giant, snowflake-shaped yew tree maze. Other seasons offer adventure playgrounds, boating, pedal go-karts, motorised scooters and a range of themed events.The mansion house itself is constructed of stone in the style of a Palladian villa and features a cantilevered staircase, 18th and 19th century furniture and works of art. Features of the grounds include a dovecote, lodges, a ha-ha, a walled garden and thatched timber loggia.

The Christmas Adventure is a seasonal event held at the 2,000-acre (8.1 km2) Stockeld Park estate in North Yorkshire, England.Initially a supplement to the estate’s extensive Christmas tree business, The Christmas Adventure now boasts a number of unique activities, including a giant, snowflake-shaped maze based on the 12 Days of Christmas, an Enchanted Wood, Europe’s longest synthetic Nordic ski trail, a skating rink and Santa’s Grotto.The Enchanted Wood is perhaps The Christmas Adventure’s most distinctive attraction. Described as “a mixture of theatre and fantasy”, the wood is illuminated by several thousand lights and filled with fairytale characters and animals. Running for over 1,200 metres through the wood is a pathway and the Nordic ski trail.The Christmas Adventure also contains a Christmas shop and a café.Since opening in 2006, The Christmas Adventure has been the subject of considerable media attention and has featured in papers such as The Times, The Daily Telegraph, the Guardian and the Yorkshire Post.Beginning at the start of the October half term and ending after the second weekend of January, it is estimated that over 100,000 people visit The Christmas Adventure, which has been the recipient of a number of awards.

Spofforth is a village in the civil parish of Spofforth with Stockeld in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England, about 3 miles (4.8 km) north west of Wetherby and 5 miles (8 km) south of Harrogate on the River Crimple, a tributary of the River Nidd.

The Old Rectory is a historic building in Spofforth, North Yorkshire, a village in England. The oldest parts of the house are believed to be 14th century, and to have originally formed part of the Hospital of Mary Magdalene. It was later converted into a private house, and in the 18th century was largely rebuilt as the rectory of All Saints' Church. The building was grade II listed in 1952. When it was sold in 1998, it was listed as having six bedrooms, three bathrooms, three reception rooms, a kitchen, cloakroom, and 2 acres (0.81 ha) of grounds. The house is built of sandstone with a stone slate roof. There are two storeys and seven bays, the left two bays in a slightly projecting wing. The doorway has a moulded surround, a fanlight and a pulvinated entablature, and the windows are sashes. At the rear is a blocked 14th-century window. Inside, there is an 18th-century staircase. At the entrance to the grounds of the house are two archways in sandstone. The archway in the boundary wall has a four-centred arch of voussoirs, and a pair of wrought iron gates. The wall is coped with flagstones, and steps up over the arch. The inner archway was moved to its present site, probably, in 1928. It is free-standing and without gates, and also four-centred with voussoirs. The wall and archway were also grade II listed in 1952.
