Houldsworth School

St. Elisabeth's Church is an Anglo Catholic church in Reddish, Stockport designed by Alfred Waterhouse in the Victorian Gothic style. It is a grade I listed building.

Reddish is an area in Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. 4.6 miles (7.4 km) south-east of Manchester city centre. At the 2011 census, the population was 28,052. Historically part of Lancashire, Reddish grew rapidly in the Industrial Revolution and still retains landmarks from that period, such as Houldsworth Mill, a former textile mill. Reddish Vale is a country park.

Houldsworth Model Village was a model village situated in the centre of Reddish, 3 miles north of Stockport in the North of England. It was built by William Houldsworth, for the benefit of his employees at Houldsworth Mills. The first of Houldsworth's mills was completed in 1865. In 1874 work was completed on an institute, which is still standing and now called Houldsworth Working Men's Club. The institute was designed by architect Abraham Henthorn Stott who also designed Houldsworth's Mills, however it was a different architect, Alfred Waterhouse who designed St Elisabeth's church, rectory and school, which were built shortly after. Alfred Waterhouse had just carried out extensive improvements on William Houldsworth's newly acquired home of Coodham Estate in Kilmarnock.Directly opposite the front of the mill a series of houses were built on Houldsworth Street. These were to be the largest and grandest of all the houses built as part of the model village. They were for the mill's managers and foreman and was nicknamed by the other works as 'nob row'. These houses and the ones on Liverpool Street are the only remaining dwellings from the original model village.

Denton and Reddish is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2005 by Andrew Gwynne of the Labour Party.The seat is due to be abolished for the next general election.

Broadstone Mill was a double cotton spinning mill on the eastern bank of the Stockport Branch Canal in Reddish, Stockport, Greater Manchester, in England. Construction of the twin mills commenced in 1903 and was completed in 1907. They closed in 1957, and the southern mill and engine houses were demolished in 1965. The northern block went into multiple usage. It is now part of the Houldsworth Village development. It is used as a centre for small businesses, and a shopping outlet.

Reddish South railway station is a stop on the Stockport–Stalybridge Line in Reddish, Stockport, England. The station, used by only 26 passengers in 2013/14, is one of the quietest on the UK rail network. From May 1992 until May 2018, it was served by parliamentary services in order to avoid formal proceeding to close the line. Despite the low passenger numbers, the line itself is used regularly for freight traffic and empty stock transfers.

Houldsworth Working Men's Club is a club in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England (grid reference SJ895935). Designed by the famed Alfred Waterhouse and completed in the late 19th century, it is still used as a working men's club today. An important local structure, it is now a Grade II* listed building.

Reddish Vale High School, formerly Reddish Vale Technology College is a secondary school in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. It is a coeducational school with academy status, part of South Manchester academy trust, educating 1100 pupils in the 11-16 range.

Reddish North railway station is one of two stations serving the suburb of Reddish in Stockport, England; the other is Reddish South. It was built by the Sheffield and Midland Railway Companies' Committee in 1875, on the line between New Mills Central and Manchester London Road (now Piccadilly station). As a joint venture of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway and the Midland Railway, it was a shorter route than the earlier-built line through Hyde Junction. It was used by the Midland railway's main line expresses from London St Pancras until 1880, when they began running via Stockport Tiviot Dale into Manchester Central. Originally named simply Reddish, it became Reddish North in 1951. Some of the original buildings have disappeared over time. The original station yard, with goods shed, is intact (though without rails) and is currently used by a timber merchant. Although the original mileposts along this section were maintained by the Great Central Railway, the mileages are measured from Rowsley on the Midland Railway line, contrary to the latter's normal practice of measuring from St Pancras.

Reddish Electric Depot was an Electric Traction Depot located in Reddish, Stockport, England. The depot was situated on the west side of the line between Hyde Road and Levenshulme stations. Confusingly, neither of the Reddish stations - North and South - were on this line. It was built to service the electric locomotives and local electric multiple units used on the electrified Woodhead Line between Manchester, Sheffield and Wath. To enable access to the depot, the line from Fairfield Junction on the Woodhead Line as far as the depot was electrified.Before their services stopped (in July 1981 for the Woodhead locos, and December for the class 506 EMUs, as the line was converted to 25kV, for the Hadfield/Glossop passenger service) the depot had an allocation of EM1 and EM2 electric locomotives and Class 506 EMUs.

Highfield Country Park is a 70-acre (280,000 m2) area of open land, situated on the east side of Levenshulme, Manchester, that stretches to the east of Broom Avenue across to the rear of Reddish Golf Course and to the junction of Longford Road, Reddish and Nelstrop Road, Levenshulme.Prior to 2004, the park was jointly maintained by Manchester City Council and a group of volunteers called The Friends of Highfield Park. In July 2004 the park came to the attention of the Prudential Grass Roots campaign (run by the BTCV conservation charity). Over a 12-month period the park was transformed from a dreary, vandalised wasteland into a country park with a picnic area and mapped out country walks.In 2008 Highfield Country Park was designated a Local Nature Reserve, providing a protected habitat for many animal and plant species.

Abbey Hey Football Club is a football club based in the Abbey Hey area of Gorton, Manchester, England. They are currently members of the North West Counties League Division One South and play at the Abbey Stadium. The club are full members of the Manchester Football Association.
