The Modesto Irrigation District (MID) is a special-purpose district that provides irrigation and drinking water, and electrical service, to customers in the San Joaquin Valley within Stanislaus County, California. It was the second established irrigation district in California, using the resources of the Tuolumne River. The district now supplies irrigation water to 3,100 agricultural customers, electrical service to over 120,000 customers, and drinking water to the city of Modesto.

Modesto Junior College (MJC) is a public community college in Modesto, California. It is part of Yosemite Community College District along with Columbia College. MJC, and Columbia College, belong to the California Community College system along with 112 other public community colleges. The college has two campuses in Modesto. The East Campus is the original campus while the West Campus is the larger of the two. Courses are provided in general education, lower-division transfer programs, occupational and developmental education. MJC is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC).

The Modesto Transportation Center is a bus terminal and former train station located in downtown Modesto, California.

KBBU (93.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Regional Mexican format. Licensed to Modesto, California, United States, the station serves the greater Modesto area. Bustos Media used to own the station. In September 2010, Bustos transferred most of its licenses to Adelante Media Group as part of a settlement with its lenders.Adelante Media sold KBBU and four sister stations to Lazer Licenses, LLC effective December 31, 2014, at a price of $2.9 million.

Hotel Covell was a historic hotel in downtown Modesto, California. The first construction of the building was completed in 1924. A second addition was completed in 1928. The hotel operated from its inception in 1924 until closing in the 1980s. With the second addition to the building, the total number of hotel rooms was brought to 120. It was acclaimed as "one of the finest hotels of its day" and played an integral role in the economic development in the city.It was about 142 by 175 feet (43 m × 53 m) in plan and included 120 hotel guest rooms, after the 1928 expansion. It included a 700-seat Art Moderne theatre, with a barrel vault roof, which was renovated in 1949.The hotel was demolished by 2006 after it was deemed as not being earthquake safe. A new development titled Tenth Street Place now sits where the Hotel Covell previously did.

The Modesto Arch is a centennial slogan arch, built in 1912, to welcome automobile drivers to Modesto, California where it currently stands at the intersection of 9th and I Streets. The arch bears the city's motto, "Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health", illuminated by 696 incandescent lightbulbs.

KEQP-LP (106.9 FM) was a radio station broadcasting a religious radio format. Formerly licensed to Modesto, California, United States, the station was owned by Calvary Chapel of Modesto, Inc.On September 24, 2012, the Calvary Chapel of Modesto surrendered the license for KEQP-LP to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC cancelled the station's license on October 5, 2012, and deleted its call sign from their database.

The Gallo Center for the Arts is a performing arts center in Modesto, California.The building was formally opened on September 27, 2007 (the project cost was $47,000,000) and features two theaters: the Mary Stuart Rogers Theater and the Foster Family Theater. The Gallo Center hosts six resident companies: Central West Ballet, the Modesto Community Concerts Association, the Modesto Symphony Orchestra, Modesto Performing Arts, Opera Modesto, and YES (Youth Entertainment Stage) Company. The Center has been toured and visited by many stars and notable figures since its opening day, with Patti LuPone becoming the first star to perform in the Mary Stuart Rogers Theater. Touring Broadway shows have also performed at the Center, from Evita and Cats to newer shows such as Shrek: The Musical. When it was created, a permanent endowment fund was established ( in the amount of $15,000,000) to ensure that the events and educational programs provided could be affordable to the residents of Stanislaus and allow for the improvement of the facility as needed.

El Viejo Post Office is a historic post office in downtown Modesto. Built in 1933, the post office houses murals depicting pastoral scenes. The building's roof is made entirely of terra cotta tiles. The building remained a U.S. Post Office until 2011 when it was closed and the Federal Government auctioned off the building. It was purchased by an investment group and remodeled, however the original murals that were intact at the end of the Postal service era remain intact. Some of the original murals were removed and lost after a remodeling of the post office in 1960, however two were found recently. The Federal government took the lost murals into custody prior to them being re-hung in their original place. The building currently houses a law office, although the murals and some of the original brass post office boxes remain on display.

The Superior Court of California, County of Stanislaus, also known as the Stanislaus County Superior Court or Stanislaus Superior Court, is the branch of the California superior court with jurisdiction over Stanislaus County.

Downtown Modesto affectionately called "DoMo" by many Modesto residents is the principal administrative area and historic townsite of Modesto, California. Measuring a square-mile, it is bordered by the Needham and Downey Streets to the north, Washington Street to the west, Sierra Drive and Morton Boulevard to the south, and Morton Boulevard and Burney Street to the east. The area has an approximate population of 3,138, and is bisected by the California State Routes 99, 108, and 132.

The McHenry Mansion is a Victorian-Italianate historic house museum situated in the historic downtown of Modesto, California. It was originally built in 1883 as a residence for Robert McHenry, a prominent local resident.
