Washington is a borough in Warren County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 7,299, an increase of 838 (+13.0%) from the 2010 census count of 6,461, which in turn reflected a decline of 251 (−3.7%) from the 6,712 counted in the 2000 census.Washington was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 20, 1868, from portions of Washington Township. The borough was named for George Washington, one of more than ten communities in the state of New Jersey that were named for the first president. The Borough of Washington is surrounded by Washington Township, which is one of five municipalities in the state of New Jersey with the name "Washington Township".The borough had the 26th-highest property tax rate in New Jersey, with an equalized rate of 4.206% in 2020, compared to 2.967% in the county as a whole and a statewide average of 2.279%.

First Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as United Methodist Church, is a historic church at 116 East Washington Avenue in Washington, Warren County, New Jersey. It was built from 1895 to 1898 with a Richardsonian Romanesque architectural style. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places for its significance in architecture on July 17, 2017. The parsonage, built 1892, is also included in the listing.

Bowerstown is an unincorporated community in Washington Township, Warren County, New Jersey near the Morris Canal and the Pohatcong Creek. It was founded in 1829 by Jesse Vanetta and Michael B. Bowers with the building of an iron foundry. The Bowerstown Historic District, encompassing the village, was listed on the state and national registers of historic places in 1996.

Washington is a former commuter railroad train station in the borough of Washington, Warren County, New Jersey. The station serviced trains operated by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad on three different lines. Washington station handled the Lackawanna Old Road, which came from Port Morris Junction and continued to Portland, Pennsylvania; the Hampton Branch, which went to Hampton's Central Railroad of New Jersey station in Hunterdon County; and the Phillipsburg Branch, which operated to Phillipsburg Union Station. Washington station contained a single large brick depot and multiple platforms. Railroad service to Washington began with the opening of the Warren Railroad on May 27, 1856, between Delaware and Hampton. The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad took over operations the next year when they agreed to a perpetual lease. Service from the Morris and Essex Railroad joined in 1864, with an extension to Phillipsburg opening in 1865. The railroads built a new station depot in 1867 that would remain until 1900. On December 24, 1911, the Lackawanna Cut-Off opened between Slateford Junction, Pennsylvania and Port Morris, resulting in the station becoming part of a branch. Through the 1920s and 1940s, the Lackawanna started discontinuing passenger services. Passenger service between Washington and Hampton ended on March 20, 1926, and service to Phillipsburg ended on June 20, 1943. The former main line alignment stopped operations north of Washington on March 15, 1944. Service to Washington officially ended on September 30, 1966, when the line from Washington to Port Morris ended service as part of cuts made by the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad.Washington station joined the National Register of Historic Places on July 3, 1979, as Washington Railroad Station. The station was demolished in 1982.

Vacchiano Farm is a winery in the Port Colden section of Washington Township in Warren County, New Jersey, United States. A family produce and livestock farm since 1983, the vineyard was first planted in 2004, and began to sell its wine in 2009. Vacchiano has 11 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 2,500 cases of wine per year.

Oxford Mountain is a mountain in the New York–New Jersey Highlands of the Appalachian Mountains in Warren County, New Jersey. The main peak rises to 955 feet (291 m), and is located in Oxford, Washington and Mansfield Townships. Oxford Mountain is separated from County House Mountain to the northeast at Sykes Gap, and forms a part of the divide between Pohatcong Creek and the Pequest River.

The Pohatcong Valley Groundwater Contamination superfund site is located in Warren County, Franklin Township, Washington Township, and Washington Borough in New Jersey. It was recognized in the 1970s but not designated into the National Priorities List until 1989. It is a contamination of the Kittany Limestone Aquifer underlying the Pohatcong Valley. This toxic site stretches across 9,800 acres of land. The chemicals that are polluting the groundwater and soil are trichloroethylene (TCE) and perchloroethylene (PCE). If someone were to be exposed to these harmful toxins for a short amount of time it can result in unconsciousness. Long term effects unfortunately include liver and kidney problems. The plans to clean up this superfund site are costing the companies involved, Pechiney Public Packaging Inc., Bristol Meyers Squibb Company, Albea Americas Inc, and Citigroup Inc, about $92 million, and the situation still has not been completely resolved.

The Oxford Tunnel, also known as the Van Nest Gap Tunnel, was one of seven tunnels built to complete the Warren Railroad, which formed part of Lackawanna Railroad's 400-mile mainline. The tunnel was completed in 1862, and was retrofitted with a gauntlet track by 1900.

The Oxford Industrial Historic District is a 1,200-acre (490 ha) historic district primarily located in Oxford Township in Warren County, New Jersey. It also extends into Mansfield Township and Washington Township. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 27, 1992, for its significance in community development, industry, and transportation from 1741 to 1930. It has 385 contributing buildings, including the individually listed Oxford Furnace and Shippen Manor, three contributing structures, and six contributing sites.
