Bangkok International Preparatory and Secondary School (Thai: โรงเรียนนานาชาติบางกอก พรีแพราธอรี แอนด์ เซ็กเคินเดอรี, RTGS: Rong Rian Nana Chat Bangkok Phriphaerathori Aen Sekkhoendoeri), or Bangkok Prep, is an independent international school based on the National Curriculum of England located in Bangkok, Thailand. Established in 2003, the school is now in its 18th year. 1,250 students are enrolled at Bangkok Prep, representing 42 nationalities.

Thong Lo station (Thai: สถานีทองหล่อ, pronounced [sā.tʰǎː.nīː tʰɔ̄ːŋ lɔ̀ː]) is a BTS Skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Khlong Toei and Watthana Districts, Bangkok, Thailand. The station opened in December 2 2 BCE along with the rest of the Sukhumvit Line's first phase. The elevated station is located on Sukhumvit Road at Soi Thong Lo (Sukhumvit Soi 55). The neighborhood is known for its many Japanese immigrants, and the area and its nearby side-streets are known for trendy bars and restaurants.

Thong Lo (Thai: ทองหล่อ, RTGS: Thong Lo, pronounced [tʰɔ̄ːŋ lɔ̀ː]; also spelled Thong Lor), officially named Soi Sukhumvit 55, is a road and neighbourhood in Watthana District, Bangkok, Thailand. Thong Lo literally translates as 'molten gold'. Its name comes from that of a naval officer, Thonglo Khamhiran, a member of the Khana Ratsadon (People's Party), a 1932 revolutionary group. He owned land and houses in the area. In pre-World War II Thailand, the area along Sukhumvit Road to the Bang Na District was suburban Bangkok and quasi-rural. Much of the area was occupied by the navy.Thong Lo runs from the Thong Lo BTS Station on Sukhumvit Road north to Phetchaburi Road. Originally housing car dealerships and dowdy shops, during the early-2000s it became increasingly trendy. New boutiques, restaurants, and cocktail bars sprang up, creating a demand for new condominiums in the area, partially driven by a significant Japanese expat community. In 2017, to the dismay of many, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) cracked down on the neighbourhood's street food vendors.

The Science Center for Education (Thai: ศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์เพื่อการศึกษา, RTGS: Sun Witthayasat Phuea Kan Sueksa) is a science museum in Khlong Toei District, Bangkok, Thailand. It is located next to the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai) on Sukhumvit Road, and is a science exhibition center. It includes an aquarium, a computer world, a planetarium, and workshops/devices intended for children.

Phrom Phong station (Thai: สถานีพร้อมพงษ์, pronounced [sā.tʰǎː.nīː pʰrɔ́ːm pʰōŋ]) is a BTS Skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line between Khlong Toei and Watthana Districts, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is on Sukhumvit Road at Soi Phrom Phong (Soi Sukhumvit 39). The area is a popular shopping destination, and the station is linked by skybridge to EmQuartier, Emporium and EmSphere shopping malls with urban green space Benjasiri Park.

The Bangkok Planetarium (Thai: ท้องฟ้าจำลองกรุงเทพ, RTGS: Thong Fa Chamlong Krung Thep) is the oldest planetarium in Thailand and Southeast Asia. It is located on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok as part of the Science Centre for Education, which is operated by the Department of Non-Formal Education of the Ministry of Education.The complex was built to educate the youth and general public about science and astronomy. Construction of the planetarium began in 1962 with a budget of twelve million baht and it opened on 18 August 1964. The planetarium dome is 20.60 metres in diameter and 13 metres high, and holds 450 seats. The planetarium uses a Mark IV Zeiss projector, which was the first installation of a large planetarium projector in Southeast Asia. Apart from the theatre itself, the building also features permanent exhibitions on astronomy, aimed at young audiences.The planetarium underwent extensive renovations in 2015, including the installation of two new Christie Boxer 4K30 projectors alongside the old Mark IV, which helped reignite interest in the previously ailing museum.

The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) is a Thai state agency, founded in 1972. Its responsibilities include the development of national science and mathematics curricula, and sponsorship of science education, as well as the promotion of science in general. It is also Thailand's coordinator for the International Science Olympiad.

Ekkamai Road (Thai: ถนนเอกมัย, RTGS: Thanon Ekkamai, pronounced [tʰā.nǒn ʔèk.kā.māj]; often popularly referred to as Ekkamai; also spelled: Ekamai), officially named Soi Sukhumvit 63 (ซอยสุขุมวิท 63), is a soi in the form of road, and the name of the surrounding its location in Bangkok. Ekkamai is a road that connects Sukhumvit Road in Khlong Tan Nuea and Phra Khanong Nuea Subdistricts, Watthana District with Phetchaburi Road in Bang Kapi Subdistrict, Huai Khwang District and crosses Khlong Saen Saep canal in the tip phase.It has a starting point at Ekkamai Tai Junction (แยกเอกมัยใต้), where it intersects Sukhumvit Road opposite Bangkok Eastern Bus Terminal, Science Centre for Education and Bangkok Planetarium, where it is referred to as Soi Sukhumvit 63 and northward up till it ends at Ekkamai Nuea Junction (แยกเอกมัยเหนือ), where it intersects Phetchaburi Road, total length 2,524 m (8,280 ft, 2.5 km), width 18 m (59 ft). The area is served by the Ekkamai Station of the BTS skytrain, whose Sukhumvit Line runs above Sukhumvit Road. Ekkamai is regarded as part of Sukhumvit Road, just like the nearby Thong Lo, and have two connected alleys. Because it is filled with the location of offices, restaurants and cafés, pubs and bars, embassies, banks, condominiums and foreign residents. Once it was the location of the residence of MR Seni Pramoj, the sixth Prime Minister of Thailand.

The Santika Club fire was a fireworks accident and nightclub fire that occurred on Thursday 1 January 2009, in the Santika Club in Ekkamai, Watthana, Bangkok, where celebrations of Thai New Year were taking place. 67 people were killed and another 222 injured when fire swept through the club during the New Year's celebration as the band "Burn" was playing.The fire broke out at 00:35. and citizens of thirteen countries were among the injured.

Khlong Tan (Thai: คลองตัน, pronounced [kʰlɔ̄ːŋ tān]) is a khwaeng (subdistrict) in Khlong Toei district, Bangkok. In 2021, it had a population of 10,573 people.

Emporium is a luxury shopping mall in Khlong Toei District, Bangkok, Thailand. It opened in 27 July 1997. It is owned and operated by The Mall Group, who also operate the EmQuartier and Siam Paragon malls in Bangkok. It is on Sukhumvit Road at Sukhumvit Soi 24 beside Benchasiri Park. It is connected directly to the Phrom Phong Station on the Sukhumvit Line of the BTS Skytrain by a footbridge. Emporium is a major component of the "EM District" and contains a shopping mall, department store, a luxury cinema "Emprivé Cineclub by SF Corporation", a high-end supermarket, food court, office building, exhibition hall, children's play centres and a hotel. Emporium is a popular hub for entertainment, food, and education for local residents and visitors.
