The Forum Thomanum (styled forum thomanum) is a music educational campus developed from 2002 in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany, as the new home of the Thomanerchor which was founded in 1212. It was conceived in 2002 by Georg Christoph Biller, then Thomaskantor, and others, to provide an internationally oriented innovative campus for a future of the traditional choir which was defined until then by Thomaskirche and Thomasschule. The campus was inaugurated in 2012, where up to 1.200 boys and young men are taught towards cultural education based on a religious foundation, social competence and democratic standing.

The All Saints Church in Leipzig – also Church of the Ascension, All Saints' English and American Episcopal Church, Germanized Anglikanische Kirche and Anglo-Amerikanische Kirche – was an Anglican church building in the Bachviertel neighbourhood in the borough of Leipzig-Mitte.

It consists of the Waldstraßenviertel neighbourhood in the east, the area around the Red Bull Arena and Sportforum in the west and the Rosental public park in the north.

St. Thomas School, Leipzig (German: Thomasschule zu Leipzig; Latin: Schola Thomana Lipsiensis) is a co-educational and public boarding school in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany. It was founded by the Augustinians in 1212 and is one of the oldest schools in the world. St. Thomas is known for its art, language and music education. Johann Sebastian Bach held the position of Thomaskantor from 1723 until his death in 1750. His responsibilities included providing young musicians for church services in Leipzig. The Humanistic Gymnasium has a very long list of distinguished former students, including Richard Wagner (1813–1883) and many members of the Bach family, including Johann Sebastian Bach's son Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714–1788). From the 800-Year Anniversary Celebration in 2012 the Thomanerchor and St. Thomas School has been part of Forum Thomanum, an internationally oriented educational campus.

The Bachviertel (in English: Bach Quarter), initially called "Viertel am Johannapark", is a Wilhelminian-style residential area in the west of Leipzig's borough Mitte in Saxony, Germany. According the administrative division of Leipzig, the Bachviertel is part of the locality Zentrum-West. It ist named after Johann Sebastian Bach. The Bachviertel was built in the mid to late 19th century in the historic architectural style as an urban extension between Ferdinand-Lasalle-Strasse and Käthe-Kollwitz-Strasse and is considered to be particularly well preserved with its block development and its villas next to the Waldstraßenviertel. In particular, Leipzig's church music history is closely linked to the Bachviertel; it is home to the educational campus Forum Thomanum.

The Johannapark is an 11 hectares (27.2 acres) park near the city center in Leipzig. In the southwest it merges seamlessly into the Clara Zetkin Park and together with it and the Palmengarten forms a large park landscape that continues in the north and south in the Leipzig Auenwald.

The Saxon Psychiatric Museum (Sächsisches Psychiatriemuseum) is a small museum in Leipzig and deals with the history of lunatic asylums and psychiatry. It is organized by the Durchblick association, an initiative for people affected by psychiatry in Leipzig. It was founded in 2000. The special exhibitions deal with individual fates, careers and institutions: the life stories of the court president Daniel Paul Schreber (1842–1911) and the Saxon dialect poet Lene Voigt (1891–1962) the biographies and therapeutic concepts of doctors and psychiatrists such as Christian August Fürchtegott Hayner (1775–1837) and Hermann Paul Nitsche (1876–1948) the development of psychiatric institutions in Saxony in the Middle Ages (Hospital St. Georg) up to the sanatorium and nursing homes (Sonnenstein Castle, Thonberg private institution, Dösen sanatorium).

The Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig (GfZK) (English: Gallery for Contemporary Art) is an exhibition center for contemporary art and a museum for art post 1945 in Leipzig, Germany.

The Arena Leipzig is a multipurpose indoor arena located in Leipzig, Germany. The capacity of the arena is 8,000 people for sporting events and up to 12,200 for shows and concerts. It is part of the Sportforum Leipzig, which also contains the Leipzig Arena Stadium and the Sportmuseum Leipzig.

The Innere Westvorstadt (lit. 'Inner west Vorstadt') is a neighbourhood and residential area in Leipzig, Germany, immediately west of the city centre, and belongs to the borough (Stadtbezirk) of Leipzig-Mitte. The term is mainly used in historical, urban planning and regional contexts. In common parlance, the area around Kolonnadenstrasse and Dorotheenplatz, which was built in place of Reichel's garden, is more likely to be called the Kolonnadenviertel. The northern part, around the Schauspielhaus (theater house) and the Gottschedstrasse pub mile, on the other hand, is called the Schauspielviertel. The Schauspiel Leipzig, the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, the Theaterhaus Schille and established artists in Kolonnadenstraße shape the district artistically.

Gottschedstrasse is a residential street in Leipzig, Germany, in the so-called theater district (in German language: Schauspielviertel) of the Innere Westvorstadt (inner west Vorstadt). It extends over a length of around 650 m (2,132.5 ft) in an east–west direction from the Inner City Ring Road at the level of St. Thomas Church to the Poniatowski monument at Elstermühlgraben. It is named after the writer, literary and theater theorist Johann Christoph Gottsched (1700–1766). It is primarily known as a pub and nightlife area.
