Châtenay-Malabry (French pronunciation: [ʃatnɛ malabʁi] ) is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris. It is located 10.8 km (6.7 mi) from the center of Paris. The French writer Chateaubriand lived in the estate Vallée-aux-Loups at Châtenay-Malabry. The Garden City in the Butte Rouge, the Cité Jardins, is one of the earliest examples of housing at moderated rents (HLM). Châtenay is the location of École Centrale Paris, of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Paris-Sud and of French national laboratory of doping detection. It is also the home of the Arboretum de la Vallée-aux-Loups. The high-speed LGV Atlantique crosses the city through a tunnel covered by a park called Coulée verte (greenway). From 31 December 2002, it was part of the Agglomeration community of Hauts de Bièvre, which merged into the Métropole du Grand Paris in January 2016.

The Arboretum de la Vallée-aux-Loups (13.5 hectares) is a notable arboretum located at 102 rue de Chateaubriand, near the Maison de Chateaubriand, in Châtenay-Malabry, Hauts-de-Seine, Île-de-France, France. It is open daily except Monday, but closed in January; an admission fee is charged. The park was created circa 1777 by the Chevalier François-Louis Durant du Bignon. It was confiscated during the French Revolution, changed hands several times, and then acquired in 1804 by Louis Cadet de Gassicourt, pharmacist to Napoleon, who collected and maintained rare plants on the property. (In 1807 an adjacent house was purchased by François-René de Chateaubriand, which he christened La Vallée aux Loups, "Valley of the Wolves", and where he subsequently dwelled with his wife until 1818.) The park was sold in 1890 to Louis-Gustave Croux who created today's arboretum. In 1986 it was sold once more to the Conseil Général des Hauts-de-Seine, its current owner. Today the garden is laid out as a landscaped park with a pond, island, and bridges, and contains about 2500 plants representing more than 500 woody species, including 165 species of trees. It is organized into a dozen gardens, including an English garden, fruit garden, chestnut garden, and Convolvulaceae collection. The hydrangea garden contains more than 300 cultivars, and is nationally designated one of the Conservatoire des Collections Végétales Spécialisées (CCVS).

École Centrale Paris (ECP; also known as École Centrale or Centrale) was a French grande école in engineering and science. It was also known by its official name École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures. In 2015, École Centrale Paris merged with Supélec to form CentraleSupélec, a constituent college of the University of Paris-Saclay.Founded in 1829, it was among the most prestigious and selective grandes écoles. Rooted in rich entrepreneurial tradition since the industrial revolution era, it served as the cradle for top-level engineers and executives who continue to constitute a major part of the industry leadership in France. Since the 19th century, its model of education for training generalist engineers inspired the establishment of several engineering institutes around the world, such as the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland, Faculté polytechnique de Mons in Belgium, as well as other member schools of the Ecole Centrales Group alliance in France, Morocco, China, and India.

The canton of Châtenay-Malabry is a French administrative division, located in the arrondissement of Antony, in the Hauts-de-Seine département (Île-de-France région). Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Châtenay-Malabry.

Robinson is a railway station serving Sceaux, a southern suburb of Paris, France. It is one of the terminuses of the RER B trains. The station is named after the nearby commune Le Plessis-Robinson (which itself is ultimately named after Robinson Crusoe).

Lycée Marie Curie is a senior high school/sixth-form college in Sceaux, Hauts-de-Seine, France, in the Paris metropolitan area. It is a part of the Cité Scolaire Marie Curie along with a junior high school (collège). As of 2016 the lycée has about 1,200 students. Together with the junior high the entire cité scolaire has about 1,880 students.

The Communauté d'agglomération des Hauts de Bièvre was a Communauté d'agglomération, in France. It covered seven communes: five in the Hauts-de-Seine and two in the Essonne département. It was created in December 2002. It was merged into the Métropole du Grand Paris in January 2016. Antony was the seat of the Communauté d'agglomération. Sceaux (French pronunciation: [so] ) is a commune in the Hauts-de-Seine department in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 9.7 km (6.0 mi) from the centre of Paris. In 2019, Sceaux had a population of 20,004. Sceaux is one of the most affluent areas of France and is known for its very high housing costs.

The Arboretum municipal de Verrières-le-Buisson (1.5 hectares), more formally the Arboretum municipal de Verrières-le-Buisson, Réserve naturelle volontaire Roger de Vilmorin, Maison des Arbres et des Oiseaux, is a municipal arboretum located at 1, voie de l'Aulne, Verrières-le-Buisson, Essonne, Île-de-France, France. It is open weekends without charge. The arboretum was established in 1910 as part of the Arboretum Vilmorin, acquired in 1975 by the municipality, and is now tended by young people 14–25 years in age. It contains more than 200 species of trees from the northern hemisphere, as well as several from the southern hemisphere. The arboretum is organized as a wooded area, orchard, prairie, pond, and nursery.

The Arboretum Vilmorin (4 hectares) is a private arboretum located at 2 rue d'Estienne d'Orves, Verrières-le-Buisson, Essonne, Île-de-France, France. It is open by appointment only. A newer portion of the family arboretum was acquired by the municipality in 1975, and is now open to the public as the Arboretum municipal de Verrières-le-Buisson. The arboretum is located on the site of a former hunting lodge of Louis XIV of France, acquired in 1815 by Philippe-André de Vilmorin (1776-1862), who also began today's Arboretum national des Barres in 1821. He transformed the lodge's grounds into a collection of trees and shrubs from around the world as missionaries and explorers sent specimens from the Far East, America, North Africa, Siberia, and the Caucasus. Plans for the arboretum walls are attributed to André Le Nôtre. Today's arboretum has been tended by seven generations of the Vilmorin family, assisted in recent years by a scientific committee. At present the arboretum contains some 2,280 identified species, with major collections of Acer, Berberis, Deutzia, Euonymus, Malus, Lonicera, Philadelphus, Quercus, and Rhododendron. Specimens of interest include Carya buckleyi, Cedrus libani, Chionanthus retusus, Halesia diptera, Juglans x intermedia, Parrotia persica, Pinus bungeana, Pseudolarix amabilis, Quercus persica, Sorbus torminalis, Taxodium ascendens, and Torreya grandis.

Le Plessis-Robinson (French pronunciation: [lə plɛsi ʁɔbɛ̃sɔ̃] (listen)) is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 10.5 km (6.5 mi) from the center of Paris. As of 2017, it has 29,100 inhabitants.

The Château du Plessis-Robinson is a municipal building in Le Plessis-Robinson, Hauts-de-Seine in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, standing on Rue de la Mairie. It has been included on the Inventaire général des monuments by the French Ministry of Culture since 1991.
