The Maison du Sport International (International House of Sport) is an office complex opened in 2006 in Lausanne, Switzerland, via a joint venture between the City of Lausanne, the Canton of Vaud and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was created to entice all the World's sports governing bodies (also known as International Federations or IF's) to bring their headquarters to Lausanne, in order to improve their proximity to the headquarters of the IOC, and thus improve communications between these bodies. However, many international federations have their offices elsewhere, often in a country where the specific sport traditionally has a regular following. With modern communications, the need for physical presence is also not as important anymore.

Vidy is an area of the city of Lausanne (Switzerland), on the shores of Lake Geneva (French: lac Léman). Since 1968, the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee have been at Vidy. The Olympic Museum and the Olympic Park (sculpture garden) are at Ouchy, to the east of Vidy.

Lousonna (also Lousanna) is a Roman archaeological site in Switzerland. It preceded the present-day city of Lausanne.The Romans built a military camp on this spot, which they called Lousonna, at the site of a Celtic settlement near Lake Geneva.

The Parc de Milan is a public park of the city of Lausanne, Switzerland. The Parc de Milan and the Cantonal Botanical Museum and Gardens form a vast park located between Lausanne railway station and Lake Léman.

The Cantonal Botanical Museum and Gardens (French: Musée et jardins botaniques cantonaux, MJBC) in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland, comprises the museum and botanical garden in Lausanne, as well as the botanical garden, La Thomasia, in the Alps near the town of Bex. Administered under the Service of cultural affairs of Vaud, the museum and gardens engage in the study and protection of local flora, as well as in promoting public awareness in biodiversity and nature education in general. The museum, as well as the two botanical gardens are listed as cultural assets of national importance.

Hirslanden Clinique Cecil is a Swiss hospital, located in Lausanne, Vaud. Founded in 1931, it has been part of the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group since 1990. During the 2015/16 fiscal year, 3,974 hospitalised patients were treated by 391 physicians.The emergency department of Clinique Cecil is the official medical partner of Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg’s world tour for Solar Impulse.

The Bois-de-Vaux Cemetery (French Cimetière du Bois-de-Vaux) is the principal burial ground of Lausanne in Switzerland. Laid out by the architect Alphonse Laverrière between 1922 and 1951, the cemetery lies to the south of the town and has been designated as a cultural property of national importance (bien culturel suisse d'importance nationale).

The International Olympic Committee (IOC; French: Comité international olympique, CIO) is a non-governmental sports organisation based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is constituted in the form of an association under the Swiss Civil Code (articles 60–79). Founded by Pierre de Coubertin and Demetrios Vikelas in 1894, it is the authority responsible for organising the modern (Summer, Winter, and Youth) Olympic Games.The IOC is the governing body of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and of the worldwide "Olympic Movement", the IOC's term for all entities and individuals involved in the Olympic Games. As of 2020, there are 206 NOCs officially recognised by the IOC. The current president of the IOC is Thomas Bach of Germany, who succeeded Jacques Rogge of Belgium in September 2013.

The Cantonal Museum of Fine Arts (French: Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts, MCBA) is an art museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Prilly-Malley railway station (French: Gare de Prilly-Malley) is a railway station in the municipality of Prilly (in the western suburbs of Lausanne), in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It is an intermediate stop on multiple standard gauge lines of Swiss Federal Railways. The station opened on June 29, 2012. The canton and the federal government split the construction cost of 65 million francs.

Ouchy–Olympique is a Lausanne Métro station and the southern terminus of M2 line. It was opened on 27 October 2008 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Croisettes to Ouchy-Olympique. The adjacent station is Jordils.In 1877, a funicular between Lausanne and Ouchy was opened, which terminated at Ouchy. In 1959 the funicular was rebuilt as a rack railway. In 2003, the railway was demolished to give way for construction of M2 line. In 2008 the station was reopened at the same location as Ouchy–Olympique.
