Matran railway station (French: Gare de Matran, German: Bahnhof Matran) is a railway station in the municipality of Matran, in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Lausanne–Bern line of Swiss Federal Railways.

Sarine District (French: District de la Sarine [distʁi(kt) d(ə) la saʁin]; Arpitan: District de la Sarena [diʃˈtʁi də la ʃaʁˈnɑ] (listen); German: Saanebezirk) is one of the seven districts of the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It is largely French-speaking, with a German-speaking minority. Its territory is drained by the Sarine river (which gives it its name), and by its tributary, the Glâne. It has a population of 107,158 (as of 31 December 2020).

Corminboeuf (French: [kɔʁmɛ̃bœf]; Arpitan: Corminbœf, locally Korminbà [kɔʁmɛ̃ˈbɑ] (listen)) is a municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. In 2017 the former municipality of Chésopelloz merged into the municipality of Corminboeuf.

Chésopelloz (French: [ʃezopɛlo]; Arpitan: Chesâlpèlo, locally Tsèjopèlou [tsɛʒoˈpɛlu] (listen)) is a former municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. The municipality of Chésopelloz on 1 January 2017 merged into Corminboeuf.

Villars-sur-Glâne railway station (French: Gare de Villars-sur-Glâne, German: Bahnhof Villars-sur-Glâne) is a railway station in the municipality of Villars-sur-Glâne, in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Lausanne–Bern line of Swiss Federal Railways.

Villars-sur-Glâne (French: [vilaʁ syʁ ɡlɑn]; Arpitan: Velârs-sur-Gllânna [vəˈlɑ ʃy ˈjɑ̃na] (listen)) is a municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland.

Agroscope is the Swiss Confederation's center of excellence for agricultural research and is affiliated with the Federal Office for Agriculture, which is subordinate to the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research. Agroscope attempts to contribute to a sustainable agriculture and food sector, and maintain an intact environment. Since 1 January 2017, Agroscope consists of three competence divisions for Research Technology and Knowledge Exchange, as well as seven strategic research divisions and the Resources Unit. Sites are Avenches (Swiss National Stud Farm SNSF), Breitenhof, Cadenazzo, Changins, Conthey, Güttingen (Fruit Growing Pilot Plant), Liebefeld, Posieux, Pully, Reckenholz, Tänikon and Wädenswil. The implementation of the new site strategy has begun: in the future, Agroscope will consist of a central research campus in Posieux (canton of Fribourg), a research centre in Changins (canton of Vaud) and Reckenholz (canton of Zurich), and peripheral experimental stations.

Belfaux (French: [bɛlfo]; Arpitan: Bélfox, locally Bifou [biˈfu] (listen)) is a municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. Its former German name was Gumschen, but this is no longer in use.

Belfaux CFF railway station (French: Gare de Belfaux CFF) is a railway station in the municipality of Belfaux, in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Fribourg–Yverdon line of Swiss Federal Railways. The station is 750 metres (2,460 ft) south of Belfaux-Village on the Fribourg–Ins line.

Autafond is a former municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. On 1 January 2016, Autafond was annexed by the municipality of Belfaux.

Avry (Arpitan: Avri) is a municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. The municipality is the result of the 1 January 2001 union of Avry-sur-Matran and Corjolens.
