Battle of Crucifix Hill

The formerly independent municipality of Haaren lies four kilometers north of Aachen, into which it was incorporated in 1972.Haaren lies at the fork of the Wurm, itself a tributary of the Rur, and a smaller stream that shares its name with the community. Two kilometers farther east lies the predominantly rural Verlautenheide community. As of 31 December 2020, the community has 12,482 inhabitants spread over 880 hectares.

Verlautenheide is a rural section of northeast Aachen, with a population of around 3500. The community lies within the administrative district of Haaren. Its highest point is the Haarberg (around 240 m). The east end of the town is known as Quinx.

Waggonfabrik Talbot was a rolling stock manufacturer founded in Aachen, Germany, in 1838. The company was an early pioneer of self discharging freight wagons, and in the latter part of the twentieth century a major supplier to the Dutch State Railways (Nederlandse Spoorwegen). In the 1990s the company developed the Talent passenger train, and was acquired by Bombardier Inc. As of 2011, the company is part of Bombardier GmbH., and manufactures passenger rolling stock. Since takeover it is also referred to as Bombardier Talbot. Bombardier announced the closure of the factory in 2012. The factory has been acquired by management and local investors and operates as the independent company Talbot Services, providing rail vehicle maintenance and overhaul services since 2013. It has also branched out into other activities, such as the assembly of the StreetScooter.

Bundesautobahn 544 (translates from German as Federal Motorway 544, short form Autobahn 544, abbreviated as BAB 544 or A 544) is a motorway in the city of Aachen in western Germany.

Aachen-Rothe Erde station is a station in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on the Cologne–Aachen high-speed railway. It is located in the eastern Aachen district of Rothe Erde near the districts of Frankenberg, Forst and Ostviertel. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station.

Aachen Prison is a penal facility located in the Soers in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. As of 2007, 800 criminals are serving their sentences in the prison. Brigitte Kerzl serves as the director of the prison.On 26 November 2009 two dangerous prisoners escaped from the prison but were later caught.

The Ludwig Forum for International Art is a museum for modern art in Aachen. It is based on the Ludwig Collection, which was brought together by the Aachen collector couple Irene and Peter Ludwig, and is supported by the Peter and Irene Ludwig Foundation.
