The James Parsons Building is the single largest building belonging to Liverpool John Moores University in Liverpool, England. It is located at LJMU's Byrom Street City Campus and built in 1960 as part of Liverpool Polytechnic. Later additions were made in 1966 and 1970, although extensive modernisation is taking place internally and externally as of 2010. The James Parsons Building has a gross floor area of 29,833 m2 (321,120 sq ft) and at its tallest is 13 storeys high. The Faculty of Science and part of the Faculty of Technology and the Environment are based in the James Parsons Building - which has laboratories, ICT suites and lecture theatres throughout as well as two cafés and university shop.The entire third floor of the James Parsons Building was the first internal aspect to be renovated, whilst cladding worth £3.4 million was applied to the external facade during 2009 and 2010.

The College of Technology and Museum Extension in Byrom Street, Liverpool, England, was built between 1896 and 1901, the architect was Edward William Mountford. The building was constructed to provide a new College of Technology and an extension to the museum. The college occupied the lower levels and the museum the upper levels. Bomb damage led to some reconstruction work in the 1960s. The building is Grade II* listed. The lower levels were taken over by Liverpool Polytechnic and its successor Liverpool John Moores University. Initially, they held the engineering department but were subsequently split between the Sports Science and Computing Services departments, being home to the University's DEC and VAX computers. More recently, during the transformation of Liverpool Museum into World Museum Liverpool, the museum acquired the remainder of the building which now houses its research department.

North Scotland ward is a former electoral division in the City of Liverpool, England.

Vauxhall is an inner city district of Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is located north of Liverpool city centre, and is bounded by Kirkdale in the north, and Everton in the east, with the docks and River Mersey running along the west side. Vauxhall is in the Liverpool City Council ward of Kirkdale and the edge of the Central, Liverpool ward, although previously it was a ward itself. In the 1841 Liverpool Census the area was covered by two wards Scotland and Vauxhall. According to the 2001 Census, Vauxhall had a population of 6,699.

Rushworth and Dreaper was a firm of organ builders, and later general instrument suppliers associated with Paul McCartney based in Liverpool. The manufacturer was founded in 1828 by William Rushworth, operating until 2002. Upon its liquidation, its archives were mostly destroyed, and the Victorian clock in the works tower was removed. The premises are now occupied by Henry Willis & Sons.

World Museum is a large museum in Liverpool, England which has extensive collections covering archaeology, ethnology and the natural and physical sciences. Special attractions include the Natural History Centre and a planetarium. Entry to the museum is free. The museum is part of National Museums Liverpool.

St. Mary of the Angels is a former Roman Catholic church in Everton, Liverpool, built in 1907. It has magnificent interiors of marble, imported to bring Rome to Liverpool. The building of the church was funded by Amy Elizabeth Imrie, a Catholic convert and nun, who became an abbess of the Poor Clare Sisters. She was the heiress to the White Star Line shipping fortune when her uncle, William Imrie, died in 1906. The church is a Grade II Listed Building; its interiors are also listed. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool shut the church in Fox Street in 2001 and has stated that the church will never be reopened. The Archdiocese was prevented by Liverpool City Council in 2002 from stripping the church's Italian High Renaissance-style interior fixtures and fittings.The Church was rented out to the Whitechapel Centre (a charity supporting the homeless in Liverpool) until 2005 and since 2006 has become a rehearsal space for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic orchestra, which rebranded the building as "The Friary". It is not accessible to the public.

The Picton Reading Room and Hornby Library are two grade II* listed buildings on William Brown Street, Liverpool, England, which now form part of the Liverpool Central Library. The chairman of the William Brown Library and Museum, Sir James Picton, laid the foundation stone of the Picton Reading Room in 1875. It was designed by Cornelius Sherlock, and modelled after the British Museum Reading Room, and was the first electrically lit library in the UK. It was completed in 1879 formally opened by the Mayor of Liverpool, Sir Thomas Bland Royden. The front is semicircular with Corinthian columns, and the shape was chosen by the architect to cover the change in the axis of the row of buildings at this point. The Hornby Reading Room (named after Hugh Frederick Hornby) by Thomas Shelmerdine was added in 1906. It stands behind the older building and the interior is decorated in the Edwardian Imperial style.

Central is a Liverpool City Council ward in the Liverpool Riverside Parliamentary constituency. The population at the 2011 census was 20,340. It was formed for the 2004 municipal elections from the former Abercromby, Everton and Smithdown wards. It contains the majority of the city centre but also includes Kensington Fields in Kensington to the east and the Marybone/Holy Cross community in Vauxhall. The ward includes the longstanding city centre community around the Bullring, as well as many new city centre apartments. Furthermore, the ward contains the Pier Head and the two larger universities; the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University. In 2004 Central was the city's most marginal ward, largely due to the intervention of the hard left Liverpool Labour Community Party. In more recent elections has become safer for Labour. The May 2008 local elections saw Labour take 62% of the vote. The 2011 vote was effected by the controversy involving the Liberal Democrat candidate, Daniel Bradley the son of former Liverpool City Council Leader Warren Bradley, when Daniel disclosed that he had not signed the candidate paper, which his father had witnessed.

William Brown Street in Liverpool, England, is a road that is remarkable for its concentration of public buildings. It is sometimes referred to as the "Cultural Quarter". Originally known as Shaw's Brow, a coaching road east from the city, it is named after William Brown, a local MP and philanthropist, who in 1860 donated land in the area for the building of a library and museum. This area gives its name as the William Brown Street conservation area.

The John Moores Prize Exhibition is a bi-annual competitive art exhibition held at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. It is named after Sir John Moores (1896–1993), the founder of the competition and one-time head of the Littlewoods clothes retailing empire.First held in 1957, it is Britain's most well-known competition for aimed solely at painters and is now part of the Liverpool Biennial, a citywide celebration of the arts that encompasses the Tate Liverpool, Bluecoats Gallery and other venues in Liverpool. In 2008, the exhibition was a major part of Liverpool's celebrations as European Capital of Culture.

The David France Collection is a collection of football memorabilia, consisting of more than 10,000 items related to the birth and development of Everton Football Club in Liverpool, England.
