The Baluarte de San Andres is a bastion in Intramuros, which is a part of the Spanish colonial fortification in the historic Walled City. It was built in 1603 to protect the Puerto Real and the southeastern part of Intramuros. It was also known as Baluarte De San Nicolas because it was located just in front of the Iglesia de San Nicolas de Tolentino, which is now the site of the present-day Manila Bulletin Building.

The Manila High School is an educational institution in Manila, Philippines. It was first built along the present site of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila on General Luna Street in Intramuros from July 1963 up to April 1967. The school complex of the first Manila High School at Victoria Annex was formally inaugurated on February 26, 1967.

The Open University of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) or University of the City of Manila headquartered at the Gusaling Don Pepe Atienza at Intramuros, Manila, has operated a continuing education program for working adults and professionals in its partner institutions and agencies in and out of the country. It is designed to provide higher education and improved qualifications to individuals who are unable to take advantage of traditional modes of education because of personal and professional responsibilities. Open University offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

The District Colleges of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila was established in 2001 through the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Manila Mayor, the Department of Education Secretary, the PLM President, and the Superintendent of the Division of City Schools-Manila.The students and facilities of the District Colleges are housed in three existing public schools. These schools are Antonio Villegas Technical School in Tondo (District I), Ramon Avanceña High School in Quiapo (District III).In about the same period, another MOA was signed with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, providing partnership with the City government through the PLM education system.On May 31, 2002, the Department of Social Welfare and Development of Manila, conducted the Integrated Early Childhood Care and Development (IECCD). It was the first academic course conducted in the District Colleges through the auspices of the United Nations Children's Fund.

The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), also officially as the University of the City of Manila, is a municipal public university in Intramuros, Manila, Philippines. It is funded by the city government of Manila. The university was established on June 19, 1965, and opened on July 17, 1967, to 556 scholars, all coming from the top ten percent of graduates of Manila's public high schools.PLM is the first tertiary-level institution in the country to offer tuition-free education, the first university funded solely by a city government, and the first institution of higher learning in the country to have its official name in Filipino.From its first enrollment record of 556 freshman scholars coming from the top ten percent of the graduating classes of Manila's twenty-nine public high schools, total semestral enrollment has grown to an average of 10,000. The college has expanded from a single college to twelve colleges, seven graduate, two professional schools, and a score of research and specialized centers, including a teaching hospital, an entrepreneurial center, and an integrated learning center for toddlers. It maintains a comprehensive distance-education and open university program for thousands of community health workers and public administrators in different regions nationwide, with affiliations and recognition from various national and international organizations and institutions.A study using cumulative data from 1999 to 2003 showed that PLM was among the top five schools nationwide in terms of board exam passing rate, and was one of three public universities in the top ten category.

The Shrine of Jesus, the Divine Teacher, popularly referred to as PLM Chapel, is a church largely used by students and employees of PLM (Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila). One side of the church houses a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary as the Immaculate Conception, patroness of the City of Manila and of the Philippines, while another side chapel is dedicated to Saint Joseph. Apart from San Agustin Church and Manila Cathedral, it is one of the 9 churches within the walled city of Intramuros in downtown Manila which is popular for people doing the Visita Iglesia during the Holy week.

The Sentro Rizal is a Philippine government-sponsored organization whose main objective is the global promotion of Filipino art, culture, and language. Established by virtue of the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009, its headquarters is located at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) office in Intramuros, Manila. Sentro Rizal aims to promote Philippine arts, culture, and language throughout the world through the establishment of Philippine centers in various countries which initiate and organize cultural training programs and activities for overseas Filipinos. Sentro Rizal is named after José Rizal, the Philippines' acclaimed national hero, writer, and polymath. His works Noli Me Tángere and El Filibusterismo are acknowledged to have sparked the country's quest for independence in 1898. He championed love of family and country, peace, freedom, human dignity, knowledge, use of local language, bravery, women's role in nation building, unity, compassion, productive involvement of the youth, among others.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines (Filipino: Pambansang Komisyon para sa Kultura at mga Sining, Cebuano: Nasodnong Komisyon alang sa Budaya ug mga Arte) is the official government agency for culture in the Philippines. It is the overall policy making body, coordinating, and grants giving agency for the preservation, development and promotion of Philippine arts and culture; an executing agency for the policies it formulates; and task to administering the National Endowment Fund for Culture and the Arts (NEFCA) – fund exclusively for the implementation of culture and arts programs and projects.

Padre Burgos Avenue, also known as Padre Burgos Street, is a 14-lane thoroughfare in Manila, Philippines. The road was named after Jose Burgos, one of the martyred Gomburza priests who were executed at the nearby Bagumbayan Field (present-day Rizal Park) in 1872. It is a road in the center of the city providing access to several important thoroughfares like Taft Avenue, Rizal Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, and Quezon Boulevard. The avenue is a component of Circumferential Road 1 (C-1) of Metro Manila's arterial road network and National Route 150 (N150) and National Route 170 (N170) of the Philippine highway network. The Manila City Hall can be accessed using this road, as can the Rizal Park and Intramuros.

Mapúa University (Filipino: Pamantasang Mapúa), also known simply as Mapúa or MU, is a private research-oriented non-sectarian university located in Metro Manila, Philippines. The university was founded in 1925 by the first registered Filipino architect, Tomás Mapúa, a graduate of Cornell University in New York. In 2000, the university was acquired by the Yuchengco Group of Companies. The university's main campus is located in the historic district of Intramuros in Manila, while a satellite campus is located in Makati. The university is home to 10 degree-granting colleges and one secondary school department. It has nine programs recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as Centers of Excellence and Centers of Development. It also has 11 programs accredited by ABET, becoming the first university in Southeast Asia to receive accreditation from the organization. The university also owns and operates the Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna, the Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao, and the Malayan High School of Science.

The Church of Saint Augustine (Filipino: Simbahan ng San Agustin, Spanish: Iglesia de San Agustín), also known as the Archdiocesan Pontifical Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation and Cincture (Spanish: Santuario Pontificale Arquidiocesano de Nuestra Señora de la Consolación y Correa) or the Immaculate Conception Parish (Filipino: Parokya ng Imakulada Conception, Spanish: Parroquia de la Inmaculada Concepción), is a Roman Catholic church under the auspices of the Order of Saint Augustine located inside the historic walled city of Intramuros in Manila, Philippines. Completed in 1607, it is the oldest stone church in the country.In 1993, San Agustin Church was one of four Philippine churches constructed during the Spanish colonial period to be designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, under the collective title Baroque Churches of the Philippines. It was named a National Historical Landmark by the Philippine government in 1976.Pope John Paul II granted a canonical coronation towards its enshrined Marian image of "Our Lady of Consolation" on September 4, 2000.

The National Museum of Fine Arts (Filipino: Pambansang Museo ng Sining), formerly known as the National Art Gallery, is an art museum in Manila, Philippines. It is located on Padre Burgos Avenue across from the National Museum of Anthropology in the eastern side of Rizal Park. The museum, owned and operated by the National Museum of the Philippines, was founded in 1998 and houses a collection of paintings and sculptures by classical Filipino artists such as Juan Luna, Félix Resurrección Hidalgo and Guillermo Tolentino.The neoclassical building was built in 1921 and originally served to house the various legislative bodies of the Philippine government. Known as the Old Legislative Building (also the Old Congress Building), it was the home of the bicameral congress from 1926 to 1972, and the Philippine Senate from 1987 to 1997.
